CHAPTER 35: HARVEST FESTIVAL

The sunlight streaming through the window awoke me, groaning slightly at that I tried to roll away from the accursed light only to find myself held tight in vice like arms. I momentarily panicked until I remembered where I was and who it was that was holding me, feeling myself relax again I snuggled in deeper with Amanda and relaxed against het chest.

It seemed that my movements woken Amanda up and I felt her give me an extra squeeze and lent down to kiss my forehead causing me to chuckle. "Good morning gorgeous, how you doing today?" I ask her whilst subtly rubbing myself against her seeing if I can get her riled up.

Apparently my movements weren’t as subtle as I though as I recived a gently slap to the butt for my efforts. "Naughty elf stop being horny in the morning." She grumbled out with a hint of her dry humor.

"But it’s fun to be horny!" I complain and emphasise my point by nibbling on her neck.

"Oh you silly little.." but before she could continue that line of thougt, someone knocked on the front door. "Urgh who would be here this early." Amanda complained.

"Eh let’s just ignore it and I’m sure they will go away eh?" I somewhat optimisticly answer, whilst readying myself for the next knock.

Turns out I didn’t have to wait long as the next series of knocks was both louder and longer causing the both of us to groan but go about the process of waking up. Amanda rolls away and gets up, grabbing a robe as she makes her way over to the door. Meanwhile I roll over towards the side table with my egg on it and gently pick it up and cradle it whilst pumping it full of my Aura and healing spells to make sure it is alright which it thankfully is. Once I’m assured of its wellbeing I summon my dress and get up with the egg in my arms and make my way through to the living room where I am greeted by a annoyed looking Amanda and a cheery looking Kana.

"Oh morning Kana what got you here so early? Thought we’d come meet you at the inn later?" I greet the half succubus.

"Yeah why’d you have to interrupt my snuggles." Amanda half mutters under her breath, this got a small chuckle out of me so I sat down next to her and gave her a hug and a peck in the cheek. This seemed to mollify her slightly.

"Well I was planning on waiting but as I was having breakfast I heard that there is to be a festival today! So I thought I’d come let you both know so that we can prepare for it!" Kana happily replied.

"Ohh a festival! I love festivals, what’s it for?" I ask already looking forward to it.

"It’s the Harvest Festival, to celebrate the end of the first harvest and the beginning of summer." Amanda explained having likely known about this beforehand.

"Ohh that could be fun, we are going right?" I ask with obvious excitement, I can see how Kana seems just as excited whilst Amanda seems slightly hesitant at the idea. "Come on Amanda it’ll be fun! Plus I’ll let you have a drink or two during it if you want." I add with a wink to her, this seemed to be the right thing to say as she instantly looked more agreeable to going to the festival and happily agreed to go with us.

Laughing at learning how to get Amanda to do whatever I wanted now I looked up to say. "Well we should head to the bathhouse again and then get ourselves dressed up nicely! Cannt be going out looking shabby!"

At this Amanda looks at me and asks. "But are you able to wear anything other than your dress?"

"I mean I technically can but if I do so I will become significantly weaker thanks to me weird boons. However, iv gained a lot more control over my magic recently so I should be able to alter the dress to look like something else with relative ease!" Saying so I began to alter the dress.

I was aiming for a white sundress type so working with that image in the back of my mind I changed the base colours from the autumnal tones it usually holds and changed them for whites with splashes of colour. The dress itself elongated and flares out to allow for a greater flow and the cleavage on show lessed by quite a bit. To show off my new creation I stood up and did a twirl liking how the white flowers the dress was still made off seemed to look more like a regular material with only the occasional burst of colour from a different flower to look more like a sundress with flowers embroidered on it.

Both women seemed adequately impressed with the transformation which brought a radiant smile to my lips. "So now we just need to go dress shopping for you too lovely ladies." As my smile grew the look of appreciation on both their faces seemed to drop into a frozen look of mild horror as they saw my wide grin.

Approximately 2 hours later I dragged the two out of the 5th clothing shop finally satisfied with the dresses they had. "I don’t know why you both look so glum. Your dresses are lovely and that was a fun trip!" The two looked like they had just stormed the beach at Normandy with the shellshocked look in their eyes causing mine to roll in exasperation. "Oh quite your whining I’ll let you have your fun tonight let’s just enjoy the rest of the day yeah? We can even start at the boathouse to relax you both!" I baited them with something I knew they wouldn’t be able to refuse and as I suspected that managed to perk them right up.

The shopping hadn’t even been that bad I don’t get what they seemed so defeated about!

Regardless we made our way to the bathhouse where we were greeted by the same catkin at the desk as was here yesterday. "Oh welcome back, hope you have had a good day? Would you like another private room this morning?" She greeted us.

"Yes has been a wonderful day we have been shopping for dresses for these two grumps! And yes a private room would be delightful thank you kindly." I reply with a happy smile.

We were quickly given directions to our room and before long we were enjoying the soothingly warm waters and both Kana and Amanda seemed to have lost their defeated look they had after the light shopping trip. All I could think about was how I needed to up their shopping game quite considerably!

We didn’t stay for the full hour this time and we were getting out and dried off after only half an hour.

Now as for the dresses that both ladies pulled out they were both simple yet beautiful. Amanda went for a tight calf length dress with a slit down one leg, a mostly exposed back and no cleavage on display it was black with crimson highlights and to finish off the look she put her hair into a lovely updo that I helped her with.

Kana on the other hand went for a sundress like me but hers was a light forest green with violet highlights to match her eyes. Seeing this I decided that if the other two had the dresses highlighting their eyes I would copy it so I changed out the splashes of colour on mine to be a forest green with flecks of gold to better match my altered eyes that I had grown to love.

After we were all ready and I had gushed about how great they both looked to equal shares of blushes from my 2 ladies we were back out in the street and heading to the central plaza where the start of the festival was due to be held!

As we got closer the crowds started to pick up and I took grabbed a hand each whilst relying on my sling to hold my egg, with some extra Nature Moulding to seal it into my dress so their was no chance of it falling! No way am I rushing the egg!

And so we walked hand in hand towards the festival. The mix of people once again took my breath away and I secretly hoped that I would never get used to seeing such variety. In the centre of the plaza where the main event was being held a raised platform had been erected and on that platform was currently a small performing troupe playing some music for the gathering crowd. We had managed to arrive right on time as after only a couple minutes during which we made our way around till we found a more empty spot the troupe ended their performance with a flourish and made their way off the stage to some sporadic applause from the gathered crowd.

In their place walked an absolute unit of a man. Easily 8ft tall the man had sparse black fur and a bull like head with 2 curved horns jutting out the top of his head. The Minotaur waved his hands to the crowd and made a calming gesture to which the crowd responded by halting the conversations and focusing on the man.

"Greetings people of Tenebre Village and visiting guests! I hope you have had a wonderful day so far and that it wil continue to only get better. For those who don’t know me my name is Feauld Ironhide the mayor of this delightful settlement. And today it is my great pleasure to welcome you to this years Harvest festival!" A round of applause went up at this, then the Minotaur’s deep voice rumbled on again. "From now until the turning of the new day we shall celebrate! Food and rink shall be had and merriment shall be had!" Another pause for a much louder cheer this time. "And as usual we shall have a small competition once the sun begins to set! All are welcome to compete in a show of magical skill! If you want to enter please find one of the staff around this stage and be ready to showcase your most entertaining magical talents to wow the audience! The winner shall receive a 100 gold reward!" More cheering met this announcement and even I got excited at this.

"For the rest of you I implore you to come along to get a chance to wariness some truly magical sights and witness what the power of high tankers can achieve! Until then please enjoy the festival!" And with that final word he exploded into a ball of light, we all shielded our eyes and when we looked back the giant man had completely disappeared!

With excitement in my eyes I turned to my 2 companions who couldn’t help but smile in return at my obvious excitement. "I am so happy that magic is a thing! I cannt wait to see what other kinds of magic are out there!"

"It truly can be wonderful to watch excpecially for someone new to town!" Amanda happily agreed.

But until sundown we had plenty of time to kill and I knew just where we could start. "Well in the meantime I spot some shops that look to be selling some interesting things! Let’s go shop!" My glee at this only increased as a dragged my two reluctant companions into the crowd to begin yet another shopping spree!

Gonna be one more Harvets festival Chapter then shall begin to move onto the next adventure! Let me know if you would prefer more slice of life Chapters or happy with them as they are? I will say I do struggle a touch to write these Chapters but I’m willing to put the time in to get better at this if you all prefer them?
