Manaless Mage
Chapter 336: New Quest
CHAPTER 336: NEW QUEST
Dani’s breathing slowly steadied, and he began explaining everything in a shaky voice.
He explained everything from the beginning, starting with Veiss and now she had approached him, promising to raise his status.
He also spoke about how she shot a strange injection into him, and his his talent recieved his huge boost since that time.
He even narrated the different missions he had been, how he planted dark crystals in different places around the world, and now he was able to rise through the ranks fast because of her help.
Then came the news that had shaken him... Adolf Rashin’s death.
Dani didn’t know how it had happened, or who had done it. All he knew was that one day, the man was alive and terrifying—and the next, he dead.
"I—I don’t know who killed him," Dani stammered through the device. "But whoever did... I think they’re after me also... after my life."
Harry—or rather, Ryhar—spoke with a calm, reassuring tone.
"Don’t bother yourself with that. Adolf was weak," he said, his voice deep and composed. "You’re under my protection now. As long as you have me, no one can touch you."
There was a long silence on the other end.
Then a shaky breath of relief.
"Thank you... Master Ryhar. I... I’ve been terrified these past few days. Like... like whoever did that to Adolf might come for me next. Like all my secrets could be dug out and—"
"Stop thinking about that," Harry cut in. "No one’s coming after you. Not as long as I’m here."
Dani went quiet again, and Harry let the moment sit for a beat before continuing.
"I want you to make a video," he said slowly. "Record yourself saying everything that has happened... document everything, including every little detail about those missions."
"Y-You want me to record it... like a confession?"
"No," Harry said. "Like evidence. Keep it clean, and make sure to speak clearly."
Dani hesitated. "But... wouldn’t that be risky? What if someone—"
"No one will trace it," Harry said, cutting him off again. "Send it to me through this artifact. The transfer will be untraceable, and I can guarantee your safety."
A long pause, followed by a deep exhale came from the other side.
"...Alright. If it’s for you, I’ll do it. I trust you, Master Ryhar."
Harry didn’t even blink. "Good."
The artifact pulsed softly in his hand, and slowly died as the connection cut.
For a few seconds, silence reigned in the room room, then a sinister smirk slowly spread across Harry’s face.
’Don’t worry,’ he thought to himself. ’I’ll be sure to expose every hidden thing in the AMO. And you... you’ll get exactly what you deserve.’
Behind him, Leon clapped once.
"Good performance there," the blonde-haired man said, clearly amused. "I’m moved master Ryhar."
Harry just nodded, ignoring his little jab at him.
The two exchanged little after that.
Instead, Harry remained in the white room, training his energy in a lotus position.
It was a practice he’d picked up recently, sitting in the white room while moving his energy all over his body.
By this doing for hours each day, he got more and more familiar with his energy, slowly inching towards that finesse control he wished to have.
Hours passed.
His energy now hummed through his body, tightly sticking to his skin like a dense layer of armour.
’I’m slowly getting there...’ he mumbled inwardly, the edges of his lips curling up slightly.
"You sure have improved a lot... I’m impressed." Leon suddenly said, flashing a light smirk at him.
Harry nodded, his eyes narrowing slightly.
"But still... it’s not enough." he said, slowly standing up, dusting the nonexistent dust from his pants.
"I’ll be heading back." he muttered, his body vanishing in a flash.
He immediately reappeared on his bed, in the exact same position he was before.
"...Finally," he muttered, letting out a low sigh.
But then, he couldn’t rest yet, as he wasn’t done with his training.
There was still something very important he had to do.
’Daily quests...’ he called out within his mind, and a set of tabs immediately appeared in front of him.
===========
[Daily Quests]
—Run 50km(Status: 0/50km)
—Lift a total of 20000 kilograms (Status: 0/20000kg)
Rewards for completion: +50000EXP, +15 Stat points, +20 Skill points
===========
Harry’s eyes narrowed as he stared at the floating tabs before him.
Ever since his evolution into a full Manaless Mage, everything about the daily quests had changed—drastically.
The amount of work he was required to do had more than tripled, but in exchange, the EXP gain from them also increased exponentially.
What didn’t change much, however, were the daily stat points. The amount he gained from each daily quest only increased slightly so far—from ten to fifteen.
However, a new type of reward was added into the mix, which were skill points.
It had caught him off guard the first time, as he hadn’t expected to get skill points from completing daily quests.
Nonetheless, the new reward addition was greatly appreciated.
At first, the changes in his daily quests were quite difficult to adapt to, but the more he completed them, he quickly adapted to it.
His physical capabilities were slowly increasing the more he did the quests, along with his technique and body fitness.
He stood up from his bed with a soft grunt, stretching his arms over his head as his joints popped softly.
He walked over to his wardrobe and pulled out a thick black hoodie, tugging it over his head. A pair of plain black joggers followed, and finally a pair of black trainers with sturdy soles—comfortable for both short sprints and long marathons.
’Time to run.’ he thought, making his way to the front door.
He paused only to pull the hoodie’s fabric over his head, covering most of his face.
"How annoying," he muttered, tightening the drawstrings just a little.
He hated this part.
After the events of the tournament his popularity had exploded again.
He had already gained some popularity within Vernil due to how he performed in the ranking event, topping the rankings of Vane academy.
But the tournament made it even worse, and he couldn’t walk freely around the streets anymore without a good number of people recognising him.
That coupled with his looks, made it easy for him to stand out wherever he went.
