CHAPTER 340: COMPLETING THE DAILY QUEST

’They switched up the moment they realized I couldn’t offer them anything,’ he thought, clicking his tongue.

And now that he was stronger, they came crawling back, pretending like they had missed him.

The most annoying one was his father, who still expected him to show ’respect’.

When he heard him spouting those words, he wanted nothing more than to punch his face.

However, he restrained himself and merely warned them never to cross his path again.

He clicked his tongue.

"Tch. It’s always like this..."

His voice was quiet, almost a whisper.

"There’s no need getting so worked up over it." he muttered, letting out a low exhale.

That was the truth of the world.

No matter what anyone said—no matter how noble they acted—people only cared about power.

[Exactly.]

Harry didn’t respond.

He didn’t need to.

He simply exhaled slowly, pushing the matter to the back of his mind.

It didn’t matter anymore.

He had said what needed to be said. Done what needed to be done.

Now, it was time to focus on other things.

His feet crunched softly against the floor as he continued moving, moving deeper into the forest.

The deeper he went, the more uneven the path became.

Roots jutted from beneath the soil, thick and gnarled, and the terrain turned rougher.

The trees that were previously abundant thinned rapidly, with the only green life being grasses and moss.

Rocky hills emerged ahead, rising like natural towers amidst the foliage.

Harry’s eyes narrowed slightly.

He eventually came to a halt atop one of the higher hills, taking another look at his surroundings.

From where he stood, he had a clearer view of the area.

A large mountain loomed in the near distance—once proud and massive, but now scarred and broken.

A significant portion of it had already been torn away, its sides reduced to rubble and chunks of rocks.

Harry’s gaze lingered on it for a moment, a strange glint flickering through his eyes.

This was the edge of the city.

Years ago, this entire region had been known for its breathtaking scenery and hiking trails. A popular tourist center, visited by people from all around.

Until the landslide a few years ago.

No lives were lost when it happened, however, the area was greatly affected, with a part of the mountain even caving in on itself.

What remained now was a hollowed ruin—a collapsed scar on the land.

Harry took a breath.

Then he stepped off the edge of the hill and dropped downward.

He landed gently on his feet, the impact absorbed effortlessly through his legs. A brief gust of wind stirred the dust around him, and he rose to his full height in the clearing below.

His gaze turned, locking onto a large boulder nestled at the base of the hill.

It stood there like a sleeping beast—massive, round, and unmoving.

Nearly two meters in diameter, the boulder’s surface was cracked with age.

Harry stepped closer, his lips curling up slightly as he approached the towering boulder.

He placed a hand gently on its weathered surface, brushing away a thin layer of dust.

His eyes narrowed.

"Time to complete the quest," he muttered.

Harry exhaled slowly.

The first task was already done—he’d completed it on the way here, sprinting through the streets like a phantom.

The long-distance run had taken less effort than usual, probably thanks to how often he’d been doing this routine lately.

Now, only the second task remained.

His gaze returned to the massive boulder before him.

This was the tool he used—his makeshift training partner.

He had been coming here for the past few weeks, using this very boulder to assist with his daily quests and strength training.

It wasn’t perfect, but it served its purpose well enough, especially with how heavy it was.

Harry crouched slightly, his arms sliding beneath the boulder until his palms were flat under its cracked belly.

He gritted his teeth softly and began to push upward.

The rock rolled along the hill, its weight settling fully into his arms.

But Harry didn’t budge.

He lifted.

Muscles in his arms and back tensed, and the veins along his forearms bulged slightly beneath his skin as he slowly raised the boulder higher.

A small smirk tugged at the corner of his lips.

"It’s actually gotten easier than before..."

He could still remember the first time he tried lifting this damn thing.

His arms had trembled violently, and he’d barely managed to get it a few inches off the ground.

Sweat had poured down his neck and spine like rainwater, and every second under its weight felt like torture.

Now?

It still felt heavy.

He could still feel the weight in his hands.

But, it was manageable.

Harry lifted the boulder a bit higher, pushing it to shoulder level.

"I haven’t even allocated my stat points..." he murmured.

A familiar notification flashed across his eyes, but he didn’t pay much attention to it, more focused on his training.

"But my strength’s already come a long way. Even without channeling my energy..."

He knew without a doubt—if he pushed just a little energy into his arms, this boulder would feel like a feather.

But he didn’t need to.

That was the entire point of the exercise.

He chuckled softly, a low sound that echoed slightly in the stillness of the forest.

Then he gave a final push.

The boulder rose above his head, towering above his frame like a crown of stone.

His arms locked out fully, holding the entire weight overhead without shaking.

The wind rustled gently around him, brushing through the fabric of his hoodie and the ends of his hair.

For a moment, he simply stood there—like a statue carved from shadow and resolve, carrying the weight of a mountain in his hands.

"Let’s get started," he muttered.

And with that, he began. Lifting then lowering the boulder, and then repeating the process over again.

Training in silence, far from the noise of the world.
