CHAPTER 107: CAN’T GET YOUR SCENT

Leia splashed the cold water on her face and looked at herself in the mirror. "I had completely lost the control over me. I asked... I asked Ronan to touch me. I even begged him. And his scent... It’s still in my head. He turns out to be my mate," she murmured.

’Leia, why didn’t his wolf respond to us?’ Zei asked. ’I’m feeling the discomfort again. And after getting the scent of Ronan’s pheromones, all I want us to mate with him.’

’Zei, I get the same feeling. But mating with him... It’s not right yet. He hasn’t even felt the bond. Only we sensed his scent. This heat came at the very wrong time.’

She again washed her face with the cold water.

"Leia, I’ve brought suppressants for you," Ronan spoke after knocking on the washroom’s door.

Leia took the towel from the hanger and dried her face with it before walking out.

"Thank you," Leia replied.

"Your pheromones are all over the mansion," Ronan said.

"Don’t you feel what kind of scent I possess?" Leia asked.

"I can only see your pheromones, but I can’t get their smell," Ronan admitted. "But you got mine," he muttered, turning to the table and pouring a glass of water for her.

"Yeah."

"Leia, the suppressants may not help you in long run. How long have you been taking them?" Ronan turned to her, holding the glass on one hand. "I am not saying you should take my help, but you need to soon accept what your heart feels. Whether it beats for me, or Lucien, or Kieran."

Taking steps closer to her, he handed her the glass. He lowered his eyes for a brief, noticing the sudden shift in her expression when their fingers barely touched each other’s.

Leia took out two pills from the bottle and had them with water.

"Is it a bad thing that my pheromones are all around?" Leia asked. She recalled her mother’s words, who always told her how her omega’s scent could attract alphas toward her. She always was careful about her heat, but this time it happened unexpectedly earlier.

"The mansion is far from the people’s reach. So, there’s nothing to worry about. There’s a suppressant shot as well. If you don’t find comfort with the pills, you can consider taking the shot," Ronan stated.

"How can you be in such a good control after getting my pheromones?" Leia asked in confusion.

"I don’t want you to hate me. You’re the only person I want to hold dearly," Ronan confessed. "It’s strange I didn’t get a matebond connection from you. Suddenly, I feel what Dad used to say about me was right. I am simply cursed. I can’t get your scent."

Leia’s expression softened to hear those words.

"Don’t say that. You’re not cursed," Leia said. Her hand moved to her head as she suddenly felt dizzy.

Ronan saw her loosing balance, and he caught her, his arm wrapping around her waist. Her eyes were closed as her head hung in the air.

"Leia," Ronan patted her cheek. "Fuck! What kind of suppressant was it?" He cursed under his breath. He was quick in taking Leia to the bed and covered her from the blanket.

Because he knew medicine, he himself checked her pulse. There was nothing with her pulse, and she was breathing fine.

"I think they make you fall asleep," Ronan murmured. He gently caressed her head. Not able to stop himself, he kissed the top of Leia’s forehead.

Lucien looked at the message on his phone just before the meeting.

’Leia has gone into heat.’

He furrowed his brows together when Caleb asked him if he was fine.

"Yeah." Lucien slid the phone back into the pocket of his trousers and went inside the room, where Fabian was waiting for him.

As he stepped inside the door, Fabian’s eyes moved from the table to him. He left his seat and came forward to have a handshake with Lucien.

"Do you think a handshake is necessary between us?" Lucien arched his eyebrow.

"Come on, Lucien!" Fabian chuckled. "I never sent Gale or the two other guys, whom you corpses you sent to me as present. I never even asked them to give me your battle technique. But because they wanted to earn some ranks in my pack, they decided to do something big. It’s good you killed Gale," he pronounced, maintaining a smile on his lips.

"And what do you have to say about attacking my future Luna?" Lucien frowned.

"I’m unaware of that too," Fabian replied. "You’ll be the last person with whom I would like to mess up with," he affirmed, pulling his hand back.

Then, returning to his original seat, he sat down. "Let’s not disrupt the harmony that exists between our packs. You called me an enemy pack when I never did anything to infuriate you," he muttered.

Caleb looked at Lucien, wondering what his decision would be.

Lucien stepped forward and pulled out a chair for himself. He sat down while Caleb took a seat to his right.

"We can sign a pact, where you won’t have any doubts on us. I agreed to meet you because I genuinely wanted to extend my hand in strengthening our packs by becoming allies. But before all that could happen, some of the wolves in my pack ruined things for me."

His beta put forward a document on the table.

"I think we should work together in pack’s training, and other developmental projects. In times of need, we can help out each other," Fabian suggested.

Seeing Lucien’s infuriating gaze didn’t soften, Fabian continued, "I’m sorry on the behalf of those foolish wolves. I even brought a magical medicine for Leia, so that she would heal soon."

His beta placed a box on the table promptly.

"The healers of the Mist Blood Pack are known among everyone. This is my gift for you. And this pact will be a step toward the formation of a good alliance," Fabian explained with a hopeful gaze.
