Marked By Destiny: Claimed By Three Alpha Brothers
Chapter 140: Keep running away
CHAPTER 140: KEEP RUNNING AWAY
Lucien pushed away the bushes as he made his way into the deep forest of Eboncrest. He looked at his phone. The location was steadied, but a red mark was there, indicating the signal from Sorin’s phone had gone.
"I need to find him before something happens," Lucien murmured, sliding the phone back into his pocket. He was quick to transform into his wolf form and ran through the dense forest cover.
In his wolf form, Lucien could sense the presence of something strange around. It was a powerful energy, realizing whatever Sorin was speaking was absolutely right.
’Theron, why did you stop suddenly?’ Lucien talked to his wolf.
’Someone is near,’ Theron replied. He quickly scanned his eyes around, his red eyes taking in the view of the forest, but the thick cover was also making it difficult for him to look far and wide.
Not finding anything, Theron resumed his run as he entered a much deeper part of the forest. The sky had darkened more. He stopped and snapped his head back upon realizing someone was chasing him too.
And then, a foreign body attacked him. Whatever it was, it was too fast, like a lightning bolt.
Theron growled as he firmly stood on the ground. The next attack came, but he easily dodged it this time. A duel broke out as the attacking wolf finally came into Theron’s view.
Both wolves broke into a deadly clash. Their claws would not stop tearing each other’s flesh.
’I will see you again, Lucien,’ the opponent told Lucien through a mindlink.
However, Theron didn’t let him go and chased him. But within seconds, the wolf had disappeared from his eyes like some magic.
Theron breathed heavily and spoke to Lucien, ’Who could that be?’
’A hybrid probably, who knows me,’ Lucien answered back.
"Lucien!" Sorin’s voice came from behind.
He was quick to change his appearance and returned to his human form. He was injured in his right arm and abdomen, but it wasn’t the time to think about that.
"Let’s go. It’s already night," Lucien said, walking to him.
"You’re bleeding," Sorin muttered with a worried gaze.
"Yeah, but it’s not the time to worry about it." Lucien grabbed his arm and teleported them back to the border of the Darkmoor Pack. Sorin was thankful that they were back safely without much trouble. The constant fear of getting attacked by some wolves was gnawing at him earlier, but now, being in a safe territory, he felt safe.
"Now, go back to your pack. I’ll see you tomorrow," Lucien ordered him.
"Let me drop you home first. You need immediate medical attention," Sorin said with a worried gaze.
"I have my people here the escort me to the mansion. You need not worry," Lucien said and walked ahead. Draven had rushed to Lucien, holding his arm.
"Arrange a vehicle for Sorin first," Lucien instructed Draven, then turned a little.
Draven was quick to give instructions to the nearby warrior and turned to Sorin. "Please go with him. He will send you back to your pack safely," he said.
"Thank you, Lucien. What you did for me today, I will never forget it," Sorin said in a loud enough voice. Lucien simply smiled and resumed his walk.

A sudden tightness gripped Leia’s chest, centering in her heart. It wasn’t pain, more like an instinctive pull, a warning that something wasn’t right. She couldn’t name it, but the unease was strong enough to drag her from the dance floor.
Sliding onto the counter stool beside Kieran, she reached for a shot of alcohol, tossed it back, and set the glass down with a soft clink.
"Are you still upset with me?" she asked, turning toward him.
Kieran didn’t look at her right away, his gaze fixed somewhere ahead.
"You didn’t even dance with me," Leia continued, her voice edged with disappointment. "I thought we came here for fun. Rhea and Jarvis are out there having a blast, but you... You’ve been sitting here with that long face all night."
"I wouldn’t have come at all if I were upset," Kieran replied, finally meeting her eyes.
Leia leaned closer, her sharp gaze narrowing on him. "You only brought me here because you promised before you decided to get upset with me."
Her voice lowered as she leaned back. Her elbows rested on the counter table as she looked up at the ceiling. "I feel odd tonight. I’m not enjoying the dance as I used to. One of my mates is angry with me." Then, standing up, pulling up her denim jacket, she continued, "Let’s go home. It’s no fun without you."
Kieran stood up and took out his wallet. He paid the bills and simply walked out of the club. Jarvis and Rhea watched them leave as they slowly stopped.
"We are leaving!" Leia told them, waving at them, and ran after Kieran.
As she came outside, she found Kieran already standing near the car with his phone in his hand. She removed her heels and ran to him. Leaning her head against his arm, she asked, "How can I convince you that–" she couldn’t finish as Kieran interrupted her.
"We need to rush back home," Kieran said with a panicked expression.
"Yes. We are heading home only," Leia said, standing straight.
"Lucien got injured," Kieran replied.
"What?" Leia reacted shockingly, her eyes widening.
Kieran was quick to open the door for her and asked her to get in. Leia settled inside and fastened her seatbelt while Kieran moved to the driver’s seat.
’I was getting a strange feeling that something wasn’t right. What happened to Lucien?’ she thought when she heard the starting of the engine.
"How did he get injured?" asked Leia.
"I don’t know the details. But Ronan said Lucien had gone somewhere." Kieran pulled out the car from the driveway and sped off.
Leia quickly dialed Lucien’s number. A few seconds later, the call was picked up.
"Are you alright? Kieran and I are on our way home," Leia said.
"Didn’t you ignore me in the day? I am quite surprised that you called me. I thought you would keep running away from me," Lucien said from the other side.
