CHAPTER 137: BEHIND THE DRAPES

• ELOISE •

I heard voices, talking about several things I couldn’t follow.

I opened my eyes and everywhere was dark, except for the small parting between the drapes.

"You know I have tasted control... I knew how it felt when my canines were at her neck. I wish I had marked her right there. If she’s willing to accept my blood, don’t you think it’s possible I could have made her mine that night?"

Damon. He was sitting there, with his legs up, the table covered with parchments. What is he doing here? And that other voice was Drevon’s. Why was he being entertained in our chambers?

Damon moved his head, and our eyes locked, a slow smile taking over his lips. I swore I saw a softness in his gaze, too.

"When are you going to tell her the truth? She has every right to know."

"That is none of your concern."

"Keeping secrets now, are you? How exactly did you feel when you found out we were meeting? Imagine how she’d feel when she uncovers your secret."

What secret? What are they talking about?

My eyelids grew heavy as dark dots coated my vision, and everything went dark.

The next time I opened my eyes, the drapes were out of the way. My eyes circled everywhere before I forced myself to sit.

Drevon was alerted, and he was up on his feet, hurrying to my side and pulling me in a tight hug.

I didn’t hug him back, nor did I feel anything at the moment. My body felt like it wasn’t mine.

Drevon broke the hug, watching me with a gentle expression, a faint smile on his lips. "I’ve been so worried."

"What happened?" I asked, and my voice sounded strange, too.

What’s wrong with me? Why do I feel so off?

"You don’t remember?"

I shook my head slowly. It was the blanks again, aside from staring at the mirror to admire Drevon’s mark, I remember nothing else.

Drevon exhaled sharply. "You got cold, too cold."

"And?" I asked, feeling that there was something more.

Drevon swallowed thickly before he replied. "And you passed out, I had to use my moonblood to heal you."

Secret. That one word was said in Damon’s voice, and I recalled their conversation. Drevon was keeping something from me.

"How long have I been asleep?"

"A few days now, are you in any pain? Are you hungry?"

Hungry.

"I think so," I said, gulping.

"I’ll get you something to eat."

I stopped him from standing by grabbing his arm.

"I do want to eat, but I want to do that outside, where the wind touches my face and I can see more light."

"Of course," he said with a smile on his lips. "Anything you want, little wife."

The air was nice, there was a chill too, which was strangely comforting than how warm the room was. I ate through the meals spread out on the wide table. I was on the verge of finishing almost half of it.

Drevon’s hand secured around my waist reminded me he was there. I turned to him with a mouthful.

I hoped I didn’t look disgusting, but the soft look in his eyes told me that was not what he had in mind, so I resumed eating in peace.

I swallowed thickly and grabbed the goblet to take a drink.

"Should I have brought in more?"

I shook my head. I don’t even think I could finish this.

"How do you feel?"

His sudden question caused me to straighten my spine. I used the napkin to wipe my mouth. I finally pinned my attention to him, and the rest of the world blurred.

Has he always been this handsome? Tasty looking too.

I felt like I could lick him from head to toe.

I placed my hands on his broad shoulders and kissed him. The contact alone made Drevon groan, my insides went on fire, and the mark on my neck throbbed.

I pulled my lips away from it, and I used my thumb to wipe the moisture off his lips. Drevon had desire swirling in his eyes, and I could feel it, hitting my body as hard as stone.

Does he feel my desire for him, too?

I undid a few golden buttons of his jacket, unclipping them one by one just enough so I could pull down his collar properly and see his muscular neck.

I gasped when I glimpsed the bite I gave him in our moment of passion. It scarred. But why were there just twin holes there?

I trace my fingers on it like a child engrossed in their first birthmark. It was beautiful.

Drevon’s breath hitched, and I moved my eyes to him. My mark affected me just as his did me. Does this mean he could feel my desire for him?

I brought my lips there and gave a tender kiss.

"Eloise..." he moaned.

Dear goddess! It was the most wonderful tone to hear.

I leaned away, coming off his lap and going down on him.

Drevon snapped his eyes open and leveled his gaze. "Eloise?"

I grabbed his belt, and his hand snatched my wrist gently.

"I want to..."

He opened his mouth, but whatever he had to say was knocked out of him. I smiled as I resumed what I was doing, and he didn’t stop me.

I pulled out his throbbing cock, and it shadowed my face. I should be scared about having that thing in my mouth again, but it became the most delicious thing I have ever seen.

I held onto it with both my hands, and Drevon grunted. Without wasting any more time, I took the thick tip into my mouth.

"Nnnghhh!"

I took him deeper, closing my eyes in bliss and taking my time to taste him. He tasted just like his scent, a great deal of spice, and it felt like my would go up in flames.

I sucked, and Drevon’s breathy moans spiked, drowning out the chirping birds.
