Married First, Loved Later : A Flash Marriage with My Ex's 'Uncle'
Chapter 492: You’re an Impostor
CHAPTER 492: YOU’RE AN IMPOSTOR
Selina let out a quiet laugh.
Now that she was here, there was no longer any room for the imposter.
Today, she would stand with Logan — and only with Logan.
With that thought, Selina tucked her phone away, lifted her chin in a bright, confident smile, and pushed open the doors of the boardroom—
...
Inside the boardroom.
The imposter’s eyes brimmed with tears. "Logan, do you still not see your mistakes? I only want you to turn back before it’s too late. No matter if you end up in prison, I’ll stay by your side."
A smirk of mockery curved across Logan’s lips.
The imposter’s voice trembled as she spoke with heartbreaking devotion, "I believe you didn’t mean it back then, but I can’t ignore my conscience. Logan, I love you so much — would I ever falsely accuse you?"
"You don’t have to worry. I won’t divorce you. I’ll wait for you to come back."
When she finished, she buried her face in her hands and wept, as if Logan truly were about to be dragged off to prison.
Amelia clasped her hands together in a show of being moved. "Selina, you sweet child... oh, Logan, do you see? She loves you so deeply — she could never possibly frame you!"
Joe added with a stern voice, "It’s my daughter’s kind heart. She couldn’t bear to see those two workers die without justice. Logan, you need to take responsibility for what you’ve done. My daughter says she won’t leave you, she’ll wait for you — what more could you possibly want?"
Hannah cast a subtle glance at the imposter, a sly smile tugging at her lips.
The imposter was delighted — too delighted.
She wouldn’t divorce Logan. She would cling tightly to the title of Mrs. Reid.
From this day forward, "Selina" would be her. Mrs. Reid would be her. She would completely erase the real woman’s existence — leaving her with nowhere to stand, nowhere to breathe.
Everyone was waiting for Logan to respond.
They waited for a long moment, until at last, he gave a low, amused laugh.
"If it were Selina accusing me, I would accept it. After all, Selina and I share an unbreakable bond. I love her, and of course, I would give up everything for her. But..."
Amelia and Owen couldn’t hold back their excitement.
To them, this was a sign — Logan was about to break.
Logan must be crumbling inside. The woman he loved most had betrayed him — what greater torment could there be?
All they needed was for him to falter just a little, and they could find a way to push him into prison, clearing the path for Owen to inherit everything...
"But... are you really Selina?"
Logan’s calm, almost casual question dropped into the room like a thunderclap, and the boardroom fell into stunned silence.
The imposter’s eyes flew wide. Her whole body felt like it had been pinned with nails, frozen in place.
What did Logan mean? Did he want to expose her? No — Logan had no proof. And there were so many people here to vouch for her. Even if he tried, he couldn’t pull it off.
"Logan, what do you mean by that..." the imposter sobbed, her voice breaking. "If I’m not me, then who could I be? I know you hate me — you hate that I accused you — but you... you actually..." Her crying became louder, messier.
Amelia’s sharp eyes flickered, seizing the chance to trample on Logan further. "Logan, even if you’re trying to escape blame, at least think of a better excuse! What has Selina ever done to you to deserve this? You... you’re too disappointing!"
"Yes, big brother," Owen chimed in, with a faux-gentle tone. "Sister-in-law only accused you because her conscience couldn’t bear it, but she also said she’ll stay with you. Isn’t that enough? And now you won’t even acknowledge her identity, when she’s still thinking of you?"
Joe, his face hardening, stepped forward to scold him. "Logan, I’ll make my daughter divorce you if I have to! Don’t you have a shred of manhood? You made a mistake — admit it and move on. But now you’re saying my daughter’s an imposter? What’s your game here?"
Journalists and livestream viewers stared, stunned.
None of them had expected Logan to say that.
Selina is fake...? This was absurd.
That face, that voice — it was clearly Selina. Even her biological father, Joe, didn’t see anything wrong. And yet Logan was saying this woman was an imposter.
How could that be? Most people would assume Logan was lying just to get out of trouble.
"What’s your motive?"
Logan was well aware of the storm raging outside these walls.
But he only fixed his eyes on Joe, finding it almost laughable.
Joe had told everyone he loved his daughter dearly.
He acted like a father overflowing with affection.
Maybe, in Joe’s heart, he truly believed he’d done nothing wrong to Selina — maybe he even patted himself on the back, thinking he was a good father.
And yet this so-called "good father" had mistaken his daughter again and again.
Logan’s gaze locked with Joe’s, his voice deliberate, each word sharp.
"Chairman Morris, the last time you mistook someone else for your daughter, you claimed you knew you were wrong. So tell me — this time, are you sure the woman standing next to you is truly your daughter?"
The room went silent. All eyes darted between Logan and Joe.
Joe’s face flushed red with humiliation and rage.
"What are you implying, shifting blame onto me? How could I not recognize my own daughter? This is my daughter — she’s Selina! You, on the other hand, have no conscience. Selina saved your life four years ago, and now you turn on her—"
Logan gave a short, sharp laugh. Enough. He didn’t need to hear the rest.
He hadn’t come here unprepared — not today.
He would not allow an imposter to keep parading around under Selina’s name.
So—
"You claim you’re Selina," he said evenly, "then can you explain... why, if you are indeed Selina, you scheduled cosmetic surgery for early next month — and why the goal of that surgery is to ’enhance’ yourself to look exactly like Selina?"
The imposter froze for three full seconds. A cold sweat broke across her forehead.
No. No! The surgeon she booked had signed confidentiality agreements. They were Hill Family insiders. How could—
But before she could recover, Logan’s voice cut through the tension again, smooth but sharp as a blade.
"You’ve been having procedures for ten years. Every little adjustment made you look a bit more like Selina. I’m curious — if you are Selina, why are you ’enhancing’ yourself to look like... Selina?"
The room exploded.
Gasps, murmurs, frantic whispers.
Today was supposed to be the Reid Group’s shareholder meeting. Logan had smoothly secured the chairman seat, and then "Mrs. Reid" had stood up to accuse him of having blood on his hands.
That was supposed to be the end of it.
But now Logan had claimed that "Mrs. Reid" wasn’t even real — and he had proof she’d been surgically altering herself to look like Selina.
The twist was so dramatic, even a TV drama wouldn’t dare script it this way.
If Mrs. Reid was truly an imposter, then everything that had happened today — the bribed board members, the accusations — was part of one massive setup against Logan.
First came the bribed votes.
Then "Mrs. Reid’s" accusation.
One scheme failing, so they launched another.
The imposter’s sweat trickled down her temples, her body trembling.
She couldn’t figure out how Logan had found out.
No... no, it’s impossible. The Hill Family’s surgeons would never betray me. He must be bluffing. He’s saying this to bait me into a mistake.
She swallowed hard.
"Logan, I... I’ve never had surgery. Stop making things up! I can’t believe our loving marriage has come to this. I can’t believe you’d say something so cruel... wuuuh..."
