Martial Arts Livestreaming
Chapter 570 - 534: Dragging
CHAPTER 570: CHAPTER 534: DRAGGING
The doors of the Martial Arts Hall opened.
The crowd in the front stood watching with eager anticipation, but in the next second, they couldn’t help but cover their mouths.
To their shock, a procession of five coffins was being carried out one by one!
There was an outburst of disbelief among the onlookers as the coffins were carried into the midst of the crowd, and the once high-spirited singing gradually came to a halt.
The more passionate and bloodthirsty the crowd had been before, the more panic-stricken they felt now.
"How could this be?"
Cries started to echo through the crowd.
Previously, over ten thousand people sang in unison, united in spirit, all certain that the five Masters who had entered would surely win. But just as their morale reached its peak, they had been forcefully knocked down, a blow that was undoubtedly tremendous.
More and more weeping filled the air, and the crowd began to grow restless.
Fortunately, the Tokyo Police Department had a contingency plan in place, with enough personnel nearby to intervene in time, starting to disperse the crowd to prevent any stampedes.
It was not until around 11 o’clock at night that the crowd near Bo Yuan Martial Arts Hall was completely dispersed, and the Island Country Martial Arts World did not send anyone else to challenge.
Just when those inside the Martial Arts Hall thought the first day was going to end like this, they were met with an unexpected visitor—the people from the Tokyo Police Department.
Mr. Wu received the visitor alone in a guest room.
"Mr. Wu, hello. This is my business card."
The visitor spoke Chinese very fluently. As he spoke, he handed over his business card.
Mr. Wu took it and saw that the front was in Japanese, while the back was in Chinese.
The man was named Shozaburo Kamitake and he held a rather high position.
"What can I do for you?" Mr. Wu asked.
Shozaburo Kamitake stared at Mr. Wu, "We deployed over a thousand officers tonight just to maintain order outside. Are you aware of that, Mr. Wu?"
Mr. Wu nodded.
Shozaburo Kamitake glared at Mr. Wu fiercely, "So your actions have severely disrupted our social order and affected public security!"
"Oh?"
Mr. Wu’s expression slightly hardened as he looked at Shozaburo Kamitake.
And Shozaburo Kamitake instantly blanched, as if greatly startled.
He instinctively avoided Mr. Wu’s gaze, and sweat began to form on his forehead.
"This man, how can there be someone as terrifying as him?"
Mr. Wu had merely fixed his gaze on the other man with a show of force, and it was enough to make Shozaburo Kamitake feel immense pressure.
Shozaburo Kamitake was also shocked by his own reaction; after all, he was someone who had undertaken many challenging missions, faced with the barrel of a gun to his head without changing expression. And yet today, he was rattled by someone’s gaze?
Several times Shozaburo Kamitake attempted to meet Mr. Wu’s gaze again, trying to regain his own composure, but each time he made eye contact with Mr. Wu, he retreated as if he had been struck by a blade.
After a few attempts, Shozaburo Kamitake was drenched in sweat, his complexion pale, yet he was completely unaware.
Mr. Wu looked on, a faint smile on his lips, as he sat in his chair in silence.
"Huff!"
Shozaburo Kamitake let out a heavy breath and said with his head bowed, "Before coming here, I heard people say that you were hailed as the World’s No.1 master. I was somewhat skeptical, but now I realize that Mr. Wu is indeed as reputed."
Mr. Wu smiled, and the next second, that terrifying aura he exuded receded, allowing Shozaburo Kamitake to breathe a little easier as he redirected his gaze toward Mr. Wu.
This time, Shozaburo Kamitake spoke with much more respect, "I am here to inform Mr. Wu that due to your actions and your presence, you have greatly disrupted Tokyo’s public order. Therefore, we ask you to leave Tokyo immediately tomorrow. Here are the related documents."
After he finished speaking, Shozaburo Kamitake took a stack of documents from his briefcase and placed them on the table.
Mr. Wu didn’t reach for the documents, instead, he smiled and asked, "Are you trying to expel me?"
Shozaburo Kamitake remained silent, but it was obvious that this was indeed the case.
In fact, based on Mr. Wu’s actions today, the Tokyo Police Department was indeed entitled to arrest him. However, they had not done so for a reason:
Firstly, today’s incident was a matter of Jianghu, a personal dispute between Mr. Wu and the Island Country Martial Arts World. Even if someone died on their side, they wouldn’t report it to the police. In fact, if the police were to inquire, they would even cover for Mr. Wu by claiming it was an accidental death.
The reason was simple: rules of conduct. Unless someone was completely shameless, no one would do such a thing.
Moreover, it involved the dignity of Martial Artists. If someone were to report this matter, it would be considered an insult to the deceased because duels were voluntary, not a matter of feuds within Jianghu. One could lose, even die, but must not be a sore loser.
Secondly, even if the Tokyo Police Department were to intervene proactively and arrest Mr. Wu, would the situation really improve?
Arresting someone just because you can’t beat them? Actually capturing Mr. Wu would only bring more disgrace upon Japan and wouldn’t serve any positive purpose.
Thirdly, Mr. Wu’s identity was no longer that of a mere Martial Artist. The complexity of the levels involved meant that it wasn’t something anyone could just decide on a whim.
For these reasons, Japan had not arrested Mr. Wu but had instead chosen to expel him.
For Japan, the current priority was how to save face. Arresting him would only lead to greater embarrassment, whereas expelling him would allow them, afterward, to claim Mr. Wu had been so shaken by the Island Country Martial Artists’ fighting spirit that he had fled voluntarily.
In short, as long as he left, and since the Island Country Martial Arts World had indeed fought back, there might be a chance to regain face, or even turn the situation around to bring honour to the Martial Arts World.
Mr. Wu did not look at the documents or reply to Shozaburo Kamitake; instead, he sat leisurely, sipping his tea.
After a while, unable to wait anymore, Shozaburo Kamitake spoke up, "Regardless, I would appreciate a response from Mr. Wu."
Mr. Wu looked at him, "You don’t need my reply. You should be receiving a call from your superior soon."
"Eh?"
Shozaburo Kamitake was puzzled and was about to speak when his phone vibrated.
Glancing at the caller ID, it really was his superior. Surprised, he gave Mr. Wu a look then answered the call.
"..."
"Hi!"
After the brief conversation, Shozaburo Kamitake looked at Mr. Wu with a complicated expression and abruptly stood up to take his leave.
Mr. Wu was not surprised by this, for before Shozaburo Kamitake had arrived, Mr. Wu had already informed Qian Kun of the situation and asked him to handle it, and he was quite efficient in taking care of matters.
It wasn’t that Qian Kun could directly influence the Tokyo Police Department, rather, he could apply pressure from higher up, then it was just one word—delay.
This matter, after all, could not alert the higher levels of authority. Just like in Hua Country where numerous fraudulent Masters insulted Chinese Martial Arts, leading to a loss of face, the national sports committee simply issued a notice stating that from now on, no one would be allowed to declare themselves Sect Leader or the like. The dispute between Mr. Wu and the Island Country Martial Arts World, for the time being, was mainly concerning the Tokyo Police Department, thus delaying for a couple of days was entirely feasible.
After Shozaburo Kamitake left, Mr. Wu opened his system panel to check his data:
[Divine (Spirit): 199
Power (Dragon and Tiger): 182
Body (Gang Body): 180]
Through today’s experience, his Divine Value had reached the critical threshold of the Grandmaster Realm!
Mr. Wu closed the system panel with satisfaction and looked out of the window, quietly waiting for the arrival of the next day.
