Martial Arts Worlds
Chapter 620: Three Young Men
Chapter 620: Three Young Men
“Yes, yes…”
Victor spoke on the phone.
Wilhelm, Helvetti, and Kiernan were sitting on couches. They were looking at television.
The news was showing humans migrating deeper into the mainland of the Martial World. They left their homes behind and were seeking refuge in the safer regions of the continent.
It was because they had already lost hope in the tournament, and they were already leaving their homes that were going to be part of Animal Kingdom’s territory if humanity loses.
“Sigh…”
Victor put the phone away, looked at the three young men, and said.
“Animal Kingdom has already started their preparations to take over the territory that was promised to them if they win.
“Their ships are already sailing.”
It was really serious news.
“Well, well… We haven’t lost yet, but it isn’t looking good, haha!”
Helvetti said with a grin and drank some soda.
“Shall we decide on the next fighter? The next match is starting in…”
Wilhelm glanced at his wristwatch, leaned back against the couch’s backrest, and said.
“In two hours!”
‘Does it even matter? To win this tournament, we need three victories in a row. We cannot avoid fighting Beast Prince Arazimir anymore.
‘There is no one in the same generation as him that could defeat him.’
Victor thought with a serious look.
“Should we flip a coin?”
Helvetti asked.
“…I will fight last, so you two decide the next match.”
Kiernan said and crossed his legs.
“Oh? You’ll be fighting last? You want to fight Beast Prince Arazimir, hmm?”
Wilhelm asked with a smirk.
He knew of the “rivalry” that the news was trying to spin, but it was all just for show. There was no rivalry, as the gap between the two of them was so huge.
“I don’t know~ I think I should go last, as I believe I am the strongest.”
Wilhelm said.
He had been “created” to be the strongest, and his body was specially modified to be able to withstand immense power.
“Is that so? Why don’t we have a quick spar?”
Kiernan stood up, walked away from the couch, and opened the side doors to open up the room to more space.
“Haha…”
Wilhelm grinned, followed after him, and entered the side room before slamming the side doors shut.
“Sparring match two hours before the next match? Are they insane?”
Victor asked with a frown.
“…Don’t get too injured, or I have to fight the next match. I’d hate to be the one that would get humanity their fourth loss!”
Helvetti shouted.
The sound of fighting ensued at the other side of the room. Those sounds lasted five minutes. Then the side doors opened.
“Huff! Huff!”
In that moment, Wilhelm walked out of the side room. He was panting heavily. It was shocking to him that his endurance was boosted beyond human limits.
He could fight for days without getting tired, and in only five minutes, he was completely exhausted!
“…You proved your point, haha!”
Wilhelm grinned and looked over his shoulder at Kiernan, who walked out of the side room, looking rather fine.
While Wilhelm was gasping for breath and struggling to stand up straight, Kiernan seemed completely unfazed by the intense fight they had just engaged in.
Neither of them suffered any kind of injury. They didn’t want to hurt each other, after all.
‘…Wilhelm lost?’
Helvetti thought in shock.
He knew of the dangerous experiments that Wilhelm had gone through, and he was supposed to be the perfect specimen of Dark Countries.
If Dark Countries were to find out that Wilhelm lost, it would not be good.
“…If you’re fine with it, Helvetti, I shall fight the next match.”
Wilhelm said, wiped his sweat with his shirt, and then sat back down with his arms crossed.
“Sure, whatever. I will fight after you then, if we get that far.”
Helvetti said with a smirk.
“…That’s decided then.”
Victor said.
While the Human Government wanted to participate in choosing their fighters, he let them decide for themselves this time around.
Human Government had decided before the tournament even began that Wilhelm would be the one to fight Beast Prince Arazimir if it went all the way to the final match.
They had the greatest hope in Wilhelm, as Dark Countries were keeping him in very high esteem.
‘…They’ll be pissed, but it’s whatever at this point. We’ve been backed into a corner. No one is anymore believing that we win.
‘That stunt of Kiernan and Beast Prince Arazimir’s rivalry worked fine for a day. Then we started losing, and that hope got crushed.’
Victor thought, took out his phone, and informed the Human Government about who they chose as their fighter.
They spammed him with messages. Not happy. He ignored it and pocketed the phone.
In that moment, the door opened, and Antigone walked in—she saw that Wilhelm, Kiernan, and Helvetti were in a rather good mood.
‘They aren’t nervous? If they lose… It will be horrible, and all three of them have to win their fight.’
Antigone thought with a soft look.
She had just taken a visit to the infirmary to check on Karmea and Seo Donghae. They were really ashamed.
Especially Karmea, who had been hyped up as greatest boxer of his generation, and he lost in less than a second.
While there was some drama about whether Shafira jump-started and should’ve gotten disqualified, as the referee didn’t really finish saying “FIGHT,” but it was eventually decided that the match had begun as soon as he started saying that.
Karmea just didn’t have his guard up. It was his mistake.
If anyone else had gotten hit like Karmea in their temple at that speed, all of them would’ve lost as well.
“Whoo~”
Wilhelm stretched his arms above his head. He cracked his neck. Then he popped his joints to make sure nothing was stuck.
“…”
Kiernan looked at him with a side-glance, nodded briefly, and then turned back to the television.
‘…Wilhelm, and Helvetti. They’re full-fledged monsters. They give me the creeps.’
However, this time around, those monsters were on his side, and this was the first time for him that he had teammates he trusted with all his being.
There was Julian during his nationals days, but it was different with Wilhelm and Helvetti, as he wouldn’t want to have them as his opponents.
While sparring with Wilhelm, while he somewhat “won,” there were times that if Wilhelm’s punch had landed, he could’ve lost.
