Marvel: A Portal to the World of Swallowed Star
Chapter 44 44: A Perfect Physique and the Martial Hall’s Shock
Using the water's reflection as a mirror, Rowan observed the dramatic changes to his body.
He noticed that his skin had become smoother and tougher, nearly flawless. Any previous blemishes — acne, scars, dark moles, or red marks — had vanished completely.
His appearance and presence had noticeably improved.
His muscles had also become more proportionate.
His six-pack had transformed into a chiseled eight-pack.
His obliques — the famed "shark lines" — were sharp and defined, like they had been carved with a blade.
His arms showed no trace of fat. Even when relaxed, the contours of his muscles were striking — like they had been hewn from stone.
The sculpted musculature exuded a powerful aura of strength and raw masculinity.
Even the most disciplined fitness professionals would find it impossible to replicate his physique.
From head to toe, he had achieved what could only be called physical perfection.
Rowan also realized that his bone density and muscle density had increased dramatically.
He now weighed approximately 150 kilograms (330 pounds).
From this moment forward, he had truly crossed into the realm of the extraordinary — no longer just human, but superhuman.
After his bath, Rowan got dressed and made his way straight to the Limit Martial Hall.
It was already past six o'clock, and most students were leaving for the day.
Rowan moved against the flow of the crowd, heading toward the Advanced Student Tower.
When he reached the third floor, only three or four students remained.
He greeted them with a nod before continuing toward the fourth floor.
The few students still there froze when they saw where he was headed.
"The fourth floor? Is Rowan going up there? Did he pass the Prospective Warrior Assessment??"
They quickly put the pieces together — eyes widening in shock and excitement.
The fourth floor of the Limit Martial Hall was exclusively for Warriors. Regular students weren't allowed up there.
Rowan stepping onto the fourth floor could only mean one thing: he was now a Warrior.
"No way. He actually passed the test? And he's only sixteen?"
"That's insane!"
"Damn, now I feel like my whole life's been a waste."
The remaining students exclaimed and groaned in disbelief.
Rowan reached the top of the stairs and found a small room beside the entrance to the fourth floor. An older man was sitting inside, reading a newspaper.
Hearing footsteps, the old man looked up.
"Young man, the fourth floor is off-limits to students. Only instructors and staff are allowed here. You'll need to head back downstairs," he said, standing up.
"Uncle Li, I've just passed the Prospective Warrior Assessment. I should be authorized to enter now," Rowan said with a friendly smile, stepping closer.
"Oh?" The old man gave him a skeptical glance, clearly surprised.
Rowan looked quite young — barely twenty, if that.
Still, the man figured no student would joke about something this serious.
"You passed the assessment?" he asked again, just to be sure.
"Yes. My name is Rowan. You can call Director Norris to confirm."
Rowan kept his tone respectful.
"All right, wait a moment. I'll check with the director."
Uncle Li picked up the phone and dialed.
"Hello, Director? There's a young man named Rowan here. Says he passed the Prospective Warrior Assessment and wants to go to the fourth floor…"
"Oh, he did? Okay, I'll let him in then."
"…What? You want me to hand the phone to him? Sure."
Uncle Li turned and handed the phone to Rowan.
Rowan took it.
"Hello, Director."
"Rowan," came Norris's voice. "You're here to test your physical stats, aren't you?"
"Yes," Rowan replied truthfully.
"You've already started cultivating Genetic Energy?" Norris sounded excited.
He had just seen Rowan's test results that morning — every physical stat precisely recorded. For Rowan to return just hours later wanting another test... there could only be one explanation.
Only someone who had started cultivating Genetic Energy would expect such a dramatic change in strength so quickly.
"Yes," Rowan admitted. "I've just initiated the cultivation, and my physical condition has improved significantly. I wanted to get accurate readings."
He didn't see the point in hiding it — Norris would find out sooner or later.
"You managed to sense the universal energy in just one day?"
Norris sounded utterly stunned.
It had taken him over a month to sense it and start cultivating after passing his own Prospective Warrior Assessment.
"You wait there. I'll be right over!" Norris exclaimed, then abruptly hung up.
Hearing the sudden disconnect, Rowan couldn't help but smile wryly.
"Uncle Li, may I go in now?" he asked, handing the phone back.
"Of course, of course," Uncle Li said with a warm smile, his tone much more respectful now.
He even opened the door to the fourth-floor training hall for Rowan personally.
Rowan stepped inside and was immediately struck by the difference.
The decor here was clearly more refined. The training equipment was also top-tier.
The hall was empty — he was the only one present.
His eyes were immediately drawn to the weapon chamber nearby.
Instead of rushing to test his strength or speed, Rowan wandered into the armory.
The variety of weapons was dazzling.
Swords, spears, sabers, axes, even bows and arrows — it was like walking into a legendary arsenal.
Rowan picked up a combat saber from the front row. The blade was a mix of silver-black with a blood-red core, and the hilt was guarded for extra grip.
"This is from the Bloodshadow Saber series — Luo Feng's favorite."
Rowan tested its weight and balance, swinging it a few times. It felt smooth and natural.
He checked the engraving on the back:
Bloodshadow No. 2 — Weight: 102 kg
He blinked in surprise.
"I'm swinging a 102-kilogram blade... without even straining?"
He spun the blade through a flurry of flourishes. The movement was fluid, effortless.
That's over 200 pounds — and he was wielding it like a toy.
His current physical stats had to be off the charts.
After a few minutes, Rowan set the saber back on its rack.
It was effective, no doubt, but the aesthetics didn't quite appeal to him.
With a thought, he activated his telekinetic powers. Every weapon in the chamber rose into the air, floating gently in a slow orbit around him.
He scanned each one carefully.
Using the feedback from his mental grip, he could roughly gauge their weight and balance.
Eventually, his eyes landed on a classic dragon-etched saber.
This particular line was second only to the Bloodshadow series in popularity. It had both elegance and performance.
Rowan picked it up and gave it a few swings. It felt even better than the previous one — sleek, powerful, and perfectly balanced.
"This is the one," he nodded with satisfaction. "I'll stick to this series from now on."
Next, Rowan selected a shield.
As a Mentalist, he could control objects in flight. A sturdy shield made for a perfect platform — stable, evenly balanced, and useful for blocking during combat.
But instead of choosing the six-sided version that Luo Feng preferred, Rowan opted for a more compact pentagonal design.
Why not a round shield?
Simple.
He didn't want to be mistaken for a certain American superhero.
