Rowan scanned the battlefield. The Extremis warrior who had been gravely wounded moments earlier was now rapidly healing the gaping hole in his abdomen was closing up fast, and the shattered bones in his back crackled audibly as they mended themselves.

The entire regeneration process took less than ten seconds.

"Incredible regenerative abilities!"

Rowan's eyes lit up in admiration.

This level of healing far surpassed what the Spirit of Flora could offer. And not only that Extremis also granted its users control over internal temperatures exceeding 2000 degrees Celsius.

In terms of value, Extremis was no less precious than the Spirit of Flora.

Perhaps even more so.

Especially considering Extremis could be mass-produced.

If he sold it in the world of Swallowed Star, how much wealth could that bring him?

It was unimaginable.

Rowan's resolve to seize the Extremis tech from Killian solidified.

"Cough... He's strong. Don't underestimate him. Attack together!"

The Extremis warrior stood up and immediately alerted his companions.

The other three nodded in unison.

All four were now surrounded by a burning red glow as they closed in, encircling Rowan.

The intense heat from their bodies flowed into their Kroalloy weapons, making them glow with blistering heat.

Thankfully, the Grade-3 Kroalloy was durable enough not to melt or deform.

Just as the tension reached its peak in the underground chamber…

Outside the Kroll Industries building, several helicopters roared in and landed.

Twenty fully armed S.H.I.E.L.D. agents disembarked swiftly.

Director Fury, Natasha Romanoff, and Maria Hill led the team straight into the lobby.

"Thermal scan. Now," Fury ordered.

"Yes, sir."

A tech agent quickly began operating a scanning device.

"There was a high-temperature explosion here."

"Sir, we've detected four major heat sources in the underground garage!"

Startled by the data, the agent looked up at Fury.

Fury stared at the four bright red heat signatures on the monitor, eyes narrowing.

"To the garage. Move!"

He took the lead, gun in hand, bolting for the stairwell.

The team followed close behind. Two agents with riot shields rushed ahead to provide cover.

By the time Fury, Hill, and Natasha reached the garage, they spotted four glowing-red figures lunging toward Rowan from all directions.

"Rowan!"

Hill cried out in alarm as she saw him being surrounded.

But Rowan stood there, completely calm.

Seeing his lack of response, the Extremis warriors bared their teeth and leapt in unison.

A low metallic hum rang out.

The Kroalloy dagger hidden in Rowan's boot shot into the air, gliding smoothly to hover at his side like a fish in water.

Rowan watched as the four warriors closed in from every direction. He smiled faintly.

"Go."

With just a single word, the dagger launched forward like a black bolt of lightning.

Ssshhht!

The sound of flesh being pierced echoed in the garage.

Fury and the others had just arrived in time to witness the scene:

A dark streak burst from Rowan's side and in a flash, pierced through the skulls of all four warriors midair.

Thud. Thud. Thud. Thud.

In an instant, the four ferocious Extremis warriors collapsed like puppets whose strings had been cut.

Their bodies crumpled to the ground with dull thumps.

The dagger hovered protectively around Rowan, circling him slowly like a vigilant sentinel.

Silence fell over the garage.

Fury's jaw dropped. His single eye widened in disbelief.

Behind him, the agents were equally stunned.

Even Ivan Vanko, still clutching a crate of Grade-4 Kroalloy at the entrance, froze in place.

The atmosphere was tense and surreal.

No one had expected that these fierce Extremis warriors would be annihilated in a blink by Rowan.

Clang.

Ivan dropped the crate at his feet.

His gaze flickered. He was genuinely shocked.

He now knew:

If he didn't kill Rowan here and now, he wouldn't just lose the Kroalloy he might lose his life too.

Ding.

Ivan quickly snapped his helmet shut.

The dagger hovering around Rowan chilled him to the bone.

He understood the strength of the Extremis warriors. Even in a one-on-one fight, they weren't easy to bring down.

Yet Rowan had just killed four of them in an instant.

That was beyond his comprehension.

"Psychic abilities?"

Ivan muttered darkly, face grim.

To be honest, he regretted crossing Kroll Industries.

He had no real conflict with them his true vendetta was with Stark.

He had never imagined Rowan would be this powerful.

But now, it was too late.

He had made an enemy of someone he couldn't afford to.

"Director, should we back him up?"

One of the agents whispered to Fury.

Fury shot him a glare.

"Back him up? You think our guns can scratch Kroalloy?"

It was clear now Rowan was far more powerful than he had anticipated.

Better to observe for now.

Hill said nothing either.

This was her first time seeing Rowan fight with telekinesis.

That scene just now was unforgettable.

Clearly, Rowan didn't need their help.

Even Natasha looked stunned.

Compared to Rowan's flying dagger, her own combat skills felt like child's play.

No way. For our sparring session later today, he's not allowed to use his psychic powers.

She had already made up her mind to cheat.

Good thing she hadn't seen Rowan earlier punch an Extremis warrior in half otherwise, she wouldn't even be joking about sparring.

"Ivan Vanko," Rowan stepped forward, voice calm.

"I told you you'll die in pieces."

"Hmph! Don't get cocky!"

Unable to handle the psychological pressure, Ivan struck first.

He flung out two electric whips, arcing with bright blue current.

Bzzt!

The twin lightning-like whips froze midair, barely a meter from Rowan, as if time itself had paused.

"Damn it!" Ivan's face twisted in fury.

These high-voltage whips were his prized invention his suit's most powerful weapon.

Yet Rowan neutralized them with ease.

It was infuriating.

Rowan twitched his finger.

The dagger zipped forward.

Clink. Clink.

Both whips snapped clean in two.

The cuts were perfectly smooth.

"Die!"

Four spider-like mechanical arms sprang from Ivan's back.

Each one leveled at Rowan, rotating quickly.

They weren't just arms.

They were machine guns.

Ratatatatata!

All four opened fire at once.

Blazing hot bullets sprayed the garage in a storm of sparks and thunder.

It was a wild, frenzied outburst of fear and desperation.

Fury and the others held their breath.

With Rowan so close, could he survive that kind of firepower?

But just seconds later, they realized… they'd worried for nothing.

The dense stream of brass bullets slowed dramatically as they neared Rowan like they were sinking into water.

By the time they reached within three feet, they stopped completely, suspended in midair.

It was as if an invisible wall of force surrounded him, halting every bullet cold.

Not a single round reached him.

One side was a chaotic hailstorm of bullets.

The other, absolute stillness.

The contrast was surreal, almost dreamlike

A stunning visual that no one could look away from.
