Marvel: Rise of the Ultimate AI
Chapter 214: I'm Lost
"Wait, wait, wait..." Jessica interrupted Wanda mid-sentence, looking thoroughly confused. "What did you just say?"
Everyone in the room turned toward Wanda like she'd just told them aliens had replaced the president. Their collective stare practically screamed: Are you kidding right now?
"It's like this," Wanda sighed, then recounted her conversation with Gene word for word.
"…Long story short, we're facing something called the 'Convergence.' Normally, that wouldn't be a big deal—but we don't exactly live in a normal world. In Norse mythology, the Convergence refers to the alignment of the Nine Realms. When they draw close to each other, strange phenomena begin to occur—gravity anomalies, physical compression, light distortion, and more…"
"So… what you're saying is—our world is about to end?" The Mandarin furrowed his brow.
"Yes. That's exactly what I'm saying." Wanda nodded without hesitation.
Everyone blinked at once, their expressions saying: Oh. Just the end of the world. You could've led with that.
Daisy slammed her palm on the table. "Okay, do we have a plan?"
Wanda waved her hand, bringing up a glowing holographic display. Three faces appeared on it—Amora, the Executioner, and Professor Selvig.
"These are our three key players. Amora, the Executioner, and Professor Erik Selvig. The professor is our target. Daisy and I were originally sent to extract him, but the Asgardian sorceress Amora and her pet brute got to him first. Now, we have to get him back. Whatever he knows… might be the only thing that can save Earth."
Eddie Brock spotted Amora's image on the screen, and immediately turned his head with an exaggerated sigh, pretending he hadn't just stared for half a second too long.
"Hey, pal," his symbiote partner chimed in helpfully, "your heart rate just spiked."
"Shut up."
"Our priority," Wanda continued, "is to locate Selvig. To do that, we need to find Amora or the Executioner. If anyone's got ideas, now's the time to speak up."
"Mr. Mason must have a solution, right?" Spider-Man chimed in hopefully.
"He… uh… isn't on Earth right now," Wanda said, rubbing the back of her neck. "So we're on our own."
Spider-Man let out a dramatic "Aahh!" like one of the classic five-stage Marvel meltdowns.
"Let's use Ultron," suggested Captain Supreme. "We can have him comb through every digital signal on Earth. Maybe he can locate a trace."
"She's a sorceress, not a rogue AI," the Mandarin said, dismissing the idea. "She wouldn't leave a digital trail. We need to understand what she wants."
"If we knew why she took Professor Selvig," the Winter Soldier said flatly, "we wouldn't be sitting around this table."
Then Wanda suddenly perked up, as if something clicked in her brain.
"Wait, everyone—hold on. I think I might have something."
The room went quiet as everyone turned toward her expectantly.
"Uh… right." Wanda cleared her throat, slightly flustered by the attention. "When I fought Amora, I left a trace of my Chaos Magic on her. If we can amplify that residual signature, we might be able to track her."
Daisy jumped to her feet, beaming. "Yes! That's it! We can ask Skynet, Red Queen, or Ultron to create a program that scans for Chaos Magic using the orbital magic amplifiers. If we pick up a signal on Earth that isn't Wanda, it has to be Amora."
"Exactly!" Wanda said, practically bouncing. "So… what are we waiting for?!"
Meanwhile, elsewhere…
When Stark saw a shadow outside the Avengers Tower's window—a familiar one spinning a hammer and wrapped in a red cape—he didn't believe his eyes.
Because this time… there was no thunder. No lightning. No dramatic rainfall. Thor simply floated to the window… and knocked politely.
Tony opened the window, squinting. "You do know there's an ID system at the front entrance, right? You're in the database. You could've just walked in."
Thor didn't reply. His face looked… distant. Stark narrowed his eyes. Something was off. Way off.
This wasn't the booming, bragging, grand-entrance-loving Thor he knew. Normally, the guy would've dropkicked the window open and shouted "Tony, my friend! It's been too long!" before cracking a beer and flexing for no reason.
"What's going on, man?" Tony asked cautiously.
Thor forced a weak smile. He hadn't protected Jane. He'd been humiliated in battle. His hammer… now marred with deep cracks.
But even all that wasn't the worst part. There was something bigger. Something far more disturbing.
"Tony…" Thor said gravely. "I think… I'm lost. I can't find my way back to Asgard."
