CHAPTER 53: CHAPTER 053: AFFECTIONATE WANDA! SHOWING OFF THE TRANSFORMERS!
Lorien pulled out his phone and tapped a few buttons.
In the underground garage of the Northern Building, a VIP parking space came to life as a Ferrari let out a low "woo~!" and automatically started up. It eased out of the spot and began heading toward Lorien’s location.
A few minutes later, the rain over New York stopped.
Wanda and Lorien watched from outside as the gleaming Ferrari pulled up to them, coming to a smooth stop right in front of where they stood.
"Woo~"
Wanda let out a breath of admiration, reaching out to run her hand over the car’s sleek exterior. She turned to Lorien, her eyes bright.
"It’s even newer and more beautiful than before. This red is so stunning it’s intoxicating. I’d say it’s the most beautiful shade of red I’ve ever seen!"
In response to her praise, golden letters shimmered to life on Jetfire’s body.
[Thanks.]
"Wow~"
Wanda’s affection for the Ferrari deepened instantly.
Lorien chuckled. "Want to see it transform?"
"Yes!" Wanda replied without hesitation, her voice full of excitement.
"Then let’s go."
He led her into the car, the doors closing automatically behind them.
Only then did Wanda notice—every single component inside the Ferrari was intelligent. Every part looked like it could change shape.
Realization dawned on her.
"So this is what it means for a machine to have a soul. Earth’s technology could never do this."
"There is tech that can make something halfway there," Lorien said as he steered Jetfire toward an empty stretch of beach. "That’s Tony’s nanotechnology. But even if he used it to build a mech, it would still be controlled by artificial intelligence—not a fully sentient, soulful being like Jetfire."
Wanda nodded in agreement.
Jetfire’s windshield lit up with a smiling face, drawing a laugh from her.
...
Lorien pulled into a deserted spot. Before either of them got out, he spoke directly to Jetfire.
"It can transform now."
"What?" Wanda was startled. "But we haven’t even gotten out yet."
Before she could finish, Jetfire’s front end lifted off the ground.
Ding Ding
The transformation began. In a smooth motion, Lorien and Wanda were shifted out and gently set down on the ground, while Jetfire’s body continued to reconfigure.
Watching the process, Wanda suddenly realized something—Transformers didn’t have to follow a single fixed sequence to change shape. They could alter the order however they liked. These machines were fully flexible, not bound to rigid molds and preset patterns.
When the transformation completed, a towering figure over nine meters tall knelt on one knee before Lorien. Bowing his head, Jetfire placed his right hand over his chest.
"Boss."
"Mm." Lorien nodded.
Wanda was thrilled, her gaze sweeping over Jetfire’s towering frame until she spotted Lorien’s name engraved in gold on the armor. It was proof—Jetfire belonged entirely to Lorien.
Circling the mech once, Wanda nodded in approval.
"It’s really handsome. Now I understand why boys like cars... and even more so, Autobots~"
Lorien couldn’t help but agree. Back in the innocent days of childhood, what boy didn’t stop to stare at an excavator? They might not even know what it was, but they loved it all the same.
Glancing between Jetfire and Wanda, Lorien said,
"From now on, Wanda and Gwen will be your second-commanders. When I’m not giving orders, they can."
"Yes, Boss," Jetfire replied, lowering his head.
"Us?" Wanda blinked.
"That’s right," Lorien said with a smile. "Once you and Gwen pick the cars you like, I’ll turn them into Transformers. One for each of you—to use and to protect yourselves."
To Lorien, who held the Allspark, creating more Transformers was as easy as breathing. And since they were all his, lending them to Wanda and Gwen was no different from letting them borrow a set of keys.
As for the cost of two cars? Please. If money could solve it, then it was the easiest problem in the world.
The moment she heard this, Wanda’s face lit up. She jumped into Lorien’s arms, hugging him tightly.
"That’s amazing! Thank you, Lorien!"
"No need—mm..."
He didn’t get to finish before Wanda pressed her lips to his. Alone in this deserted place, they kissed, while Jetfire, tactfully, reverted to car mode.
After a long moment, Wanda finally pulled away, holding Lorien’s face in her hands.
"I don’t want you to just give me things. Even if I don’t know whether the Avengers pay me, I’ll save up, and when I have enough, I’ll get you a gift too! It’s just... I might never find something as good as what you’ve given me..."
Lorien took her hand, sensing the trace of disappointment in her voice over the imbalance. Looking into her eyes, he spoke softly, full of warmth.
"No. The gifts you give me are always better than mine."
"Huh?" Wanda blinked.
Lorien leaned closer, kissed her forehead, and murmured,
"Because you’re the best gift this world has ever given me."
"Mmm~"
Wanda melted instantly, kissing him again—this time not wanting to stop.
