CHAPTER 48: CHAPTER 48: JINGYE TUTORS, NETHER LORD SEEKS HELP
Julian Sia glanced at him indifferently and walked straight ahead.
George Xyler was ignored, twitching the corner of his mouth, and followed.
Standing at the staircase, Claire Green and a few others were waiting. As they saw people coming out, their eyes all fell on them.
"How’s it going, brother?"
Claire Green raised her brows playfully, with a teasing lilt in her voice.
Julian Sia leisurely tidied up his cuffs, a deep meaning flashed through his captivating eyes.
His voice was slightly hoarse, a low laugh escaped his lips, "Claire, you really gave me a surprise."
Upon hearing this.
Claire Green knew he probably did get educated, thinking about him sitting there obediently listening to the lecture from little Cheng, she couldn’t help but chuckle quietly.
"I warned you, brother."
Julian Sia slowly looked at her, and at last, took her hand to go downstairs.
George Xyler raised his eyebrows, what’s with these two, with all of us standing here, they just walked off?
Claire Green lowered her eyes, looking at the hand holding hers, her lips twitched slightly, indeed a bit thrilling.
The searing warmth spread in her hand, Julian Sia’s eyes flickered, and his magnetic voice carried a subtle unease.
"Your teacher wants me to take good care of you."
Claire Green smiled and retorted, "So, brother, how do you want to take care of me?"
Upon saying this.
She saw the man lower his eyes looking over, a playful and casual arc at the corner of his mouth, the next second, his magnetic voice sounded.
"Of course, to give Claire a good tutoring session."
Tutoring?
Claire Green raised her eyes with interest, looking at him leisurely, "Actually, my grades don’t require tutoring."
Julian Sia gave her a playful glance, casually saying, "Your grades aren’t something just anyone can achieve."
Claire Green: "..."
...
The two soon arrived at Holywood Mansion, Claire Green asked calmly, "What are we doing here?"
Julian Sia took her directly to the library on the third floor, hearing her question, he chuckled lightly.
"To buy study materials."
Hearing that.
Claire Green raised her eyebrows, this man actually planned to tutor her, so attentive?
As she watched the materials accumulating in his hands, Claire Green rubbed her temples wearily, speaking helplessly.
"Actually, I’m quite good at studying."
Julian Sia paused momentarily with the materials, casting her a rather meaningful look before continuing to gather them.
Receiving the implication he conveyed, Claire Green remained silent, lazily leaning against the bookshelf, watching the man eagerly picking out materials.
In the end, the two returned with a big bag full of study materials.
"Brother, I’m going back now."
Claire Green glanced at the bag from the corner of her eye, turned around, and wanted to leave.
Noticing her small movement, Julian Sia chuckled lowly, his voice teasing.
"Why, not staying at brother’s place tonight?"
Claire Green halted, calmly saying, "I suddenly remembered I have something to do."
After a while.
Julian Sia’s tone carried a hint of interest, his lazy ending notes playfully tickled her eardrums.
"Really? Why do I feel like Claire is running away?"
"..."
Claire Green raised an eyebrow, her mouth curling into a mischievous smile.
"Brother, don’t wrong me."
Julian Sia slightly turned aside, chin slightly raised, "Then come on in!"
Seeing him like this, Claire Green chuckled inwardly, I did try to refuse.
...
Placing all the materials on the coffee table, Julian Sia took out the report card and test papers, laying them out side by side.
When he looked up, he saw the girl standing there lazily, smiling as she looked over.
"Claire, come here."
The man let out a low chuckle, his light magnetic voice tinged with joy.
Claire Green strolled over leisurely, sitting down with her legs bent, her cold white hand resting casually on the materials, boasting, "Brother, let’s begin."
Julian Sia ruffled her hair, half-closed eyes, casually asking, "First tell brother, why do you either sleep or doodle during exams?"
Suddenly.
Claire Green tapped on the table rhythmically, chuckling, "Doesn’t the zero score look quite appealing?"
Never expected such an answer.
Julian Sia’s eyes flickered with a trace of astonishment, then he placed his hand over his lips, laughing magnetically.
Then.
He looked at Claire Green leisurely, casually saying, "Don’t you think a perfect score looks appealing too?"
Unexpectedly.
Claire Green nodded in agreement, her eyes raised lightly, a slight smile at the corner of her lips.
"Indeed, but I prefer zero."
Silent pause.
Julian Sia stared at her for a few seconds, then conceded, his evenly-knuckled fingers tapping on the materials, speaking softly.
"First finish these two pages and let me take a look."
Claire Green followed his gaze, casually crossing her legs, picking up the pen, and began to write lazily.
Seeing the girl obediently working on the materials, a doting smile appeared in Julian Sia’s eyes, his lips unconsciously forming a small curve.
A quarter of an hour later.
Claire Green looked at the masterpiece she had painstakingly worked on, handed it over, "Take a look, brother."
Julian Sia glanced at her, took the materials, lowered his eyes to read, and after finishing, chuckled lightly, not a single problem was correct.
"Claire, there’s a long way to go with these grades."
"..."
Using the sofa for support, Claire Green stood up, eyes showing a hint of weariness, "I’m going to sleep."
Watching her heading upstairs, Julian Sia pinched his temples, eyes full of helplessness.
Fine, take it slow.
If it still doesn’t work, then I will make a few calls to some universities.
...
"J, do you have time?"
Just as she returned to her room, Claire Green received a call from the Nether Lord, and she walked into the bathroom, responding lightly.
"What’s up?"
The Nether Lord glanced at the anxious person beside them and sighed, speaking slowly, "I have a patient here, can you come over when you have time?"
Claire Green thought for a moment, "In a few days, I don’t have time recently."
Receiving the reply, the Nether Lord moved their fingers holding the phone, finally speaking softly, "Thank you, when you come, just send me a message, I’ll pick you up."
This was the first time Claire Green heard them say thank you, she raised an eyebrow nonchalantly, "Suddenly curious who could make you say thank you."
On the other end, the Nether Lord’s body visibly stiffened, somewhat dazed, if possible, they didn’t really want to lend that person a hand.
"Just an ordinary patient" they said and hurriedly hung up the phone.
"Sister, what did your friend say," the girl beside them anxiously grabbed the Nether Lord’s arm, looking at her with hopeful eyes.
The Nether Lord resisted the urge to brush away her hand. With a cold tone, "She doesn’t have time recently, it’ll take a few days."
The girl instantly panicked upon hearing this, "A few days, how long exactly? Could she be just brushing you off?"
At that, the Nether Lord couldn’t hold back any longer and pulled their arm back, stepping back a couple of steps, looking at the girl with no expression.
They laughed coldly, "If the person sick wasn’t my blood-related mother, if there was no warmth left in my blood, I wouldn’t even bother with you."
The girl’s face turned pale instantly, tears welled up in her eyes.
Then.
The Nether Lord laughed lightly again, emotions swirling in their eyes, "You don’t need to cry in front of me, I’m not that person, I don’t have sympathy for you either, you know, I particularly despise your whole family."
Having said this, they ignored the girl’s reaction and turned away indifferently.
At that moment, the phone lit up, looking down, they slowly typed a message.
[Are you okay?]
[I’m fine, I’ll show you around when you come.]
