Chapter 425 - 249: Godslayer’s Wish, Dark Energy Crystal
CHAPTER 425: CHAPTER 249: GODSLAYER’S WISH, DARK ENERGY CRYSTAL
As one of the earliest alien lifeforms to set their sights on Earth in modern times, the bizarre appearance of the Alien Pioneers had long since been documented in the Earth Library. Few people would fail to recognize their likeness.
"Why is the Drue Traitor consorting with the Pioneers?"
Qin Shou grew alert inwardly, but simply kept a close eye on the two figures as they entered the black Transmission Array outside the base, making no overt moves.
These two conspiring together could never mean anything good—most likely, they were planning to make a move themselves.
"Buzz..."
As the black light of the Transmission Array flickered, the figures vanished from Qin Shou’s sight.
Qin Shou raised his Dragon Head, his fanged mouth forming a grim smile—almost grotesque in its malice.
Since they had crossed paths, there was no way he would let them off. He might as well see if they had anything worth taking!
Just as Qin Shou’s massive dragon body trembled, preparing to act, more than a dozen Dark Indigenous Soldiers lunged out of the Black Fog, weapons in hand, surrounding and guarding the area.
"Brothers, the lord has ordered us to keep a close watch on this Dragon Beast. Stay sharp, don’t let it escape." The leading officer held a long spear aloft, shouting commands.
"Yes, boss..."
The dozen or so Dark Soldiers—entirely enshrouded in Dark Energy—brandished long spears forged from Third-level Mecha Materials. Their razor-sharp tips emanated a thick, sinister aura, primed for action.
Qin Shou scanned the circle of Dark Soldiers around him, his lips curling into a "sinister smile."
He had nearly forgotten: to make waves, one must strike when the house is empty.
And if the house wasn’t empty? Then he’d ensure... it became so.
"Roar..."
In an instant, the Dark Dragon Beast let out a deafening roar toward the heavens, causing violent surges in the surrounding Dark Energy. From all around, torrents of Dark Energy converged into a storm, rushing into the Dark Dragon Beast’s body with fervent force.
The flux of Dark Energy left the Dark Soldiers astounded.
"What’s going on? This Dark Energy..."
"This Dark Dragon Beast is so bizarre—it can devour Dark Energy so freely. We have to be cautious..."
Amid the energy storm, Dark Soldiers channeled their internal Dark Energy to their spear tips, forming tight formations. With their feet firmly planted on the ground, they shouted in unison, combining the Dark Energy at their spearheads into concentrated Energy Beams aimed directly at the beast’s massive eyes.
The Dragon Beast’s weak points weren’t easily identified in most cases, so targeting the eyes was the typical approach.
These indigenous fighters, transformed into Dark Creatures by Budala, had been personally trained by him into Dark Warriors.
A collaboration of over a dozen Dark Indigenous Soldiers—each at the Unbreakable Realm One-star level—augmented with their mastery of Dark Energy, could pose a significant threat, even against a Nightmare Two Stars Dragon Beast. Their combat ability was nothing to scoff at.
"Boom!!"
Black light erupted in an explosion as the Dark Energy Beams, unstoppable like a battering ram, blasted through the raging Dark Energy storm, their terrifying aura filling the entire cavern.
Just as the Dark Beams were about to strike the enormous eyes of the Dark Dragon Beast, its body suddenly disintegrated into countless black Light Particles, scattering wildly across the air.
"Boom..."
The Dark Beams collided with the stone wall of the cave, leaving a deep, circular black hole tens of meters in diameter, a testament to the terrifying concentration of Dark Energy in the attack.
But no matter how strong the power, if it missed, it was all for naught.
"Roar..."
Amidst the dispersing black Light Particles, a crimson dragon shadow flickered briefly before disappearing. The Dark Dragon Beast surged out of the Black Fog once more.
Witnessing this, the Dark Soldiers turned pale.
They had never seen anything so bizarre.
Though stunned, they did not stagger for long. Quickly scattering into defensive positions, they once again channeled limited reserves of Dark Energy into their spears, forming slightly weaker Energy Beams.
"Thud..."
Before they could fully prepare, a Space Gate opened wide within the Dark Cave, and a massive "Nautilus" Monster crashed to the ground, causing the entire cavern to tremble.
"Screech..."
Jiatan Jie’er swung its countless tentacles and massive pincers through the dense atmosphere of Dark Energy, roaring in exhilaration as it eagerly devoured the energy while not forgetting to deal with the nuisances in its way.
"Splat, splat..."
In an instant, its innumerable tentacles lashed out relentlessly in all directions. The walls and floor of the cavern were left carved with crisscrossing grooves by the sheer might of the thrashing appendages.
Meanwhile, the dozen Dark Soldiers suffered devastating losses under the assault. Some were ground into paste by the tentacles, while others had their Dark Energy discharges interrupted, resulting in unstable Dark Energy backfiring and tearing their bodies to shreds.
"Ah..."
"No..."
"The Space Gate... it’s the so-called gods—"
"Gods controlling Dark Monsters? Impossible..."
"No, our Godslayer cause has just begun—I don’t want to die like this..."
Amid their dying cries of despair, the Dark Cave gradually fell silent, leaving only Jiatan Jie’er’s heavy breathing as it greedily absorbed Dark Energy.
By the black Transmission Array, Qin Shou glanced back at the fate of the Dark Soldiers and shook his head.
These Dark Soldiers, having just begun to grasp the power of Dark Energy, were slightly stronger than human cultivators or Drue Star People of the same rank.
Especially in an environment so saturated with Dark Energy, they could even achieve feats beyond their level.
But the Pioneers’ methods for harnessing Dark Energy remained deeply flawed. While the transformation of these soldiers into Dark Creatures allowed them to wield Dark Energy...
The state was highly unstable. Any unexpected mishap would result in an irreversible backlash, leaving them consumed by Dark Energy.
Dark Creatures were not a species blessed by Dark Energy.
As for the Godslayer ambition these Dark Soldiers clung to even in their deaths...
Perhaps they had been thoroughly brainwashed. Or perhaps they knew they were mere pawns but still struggled to resist.
Having learned the truth of the "gods," their worldview had shattered. Yet they had few choices remaining—neither the Drue Traitor nor the Pioneers would permit them to choose otherwise.
They could only march down this doomed path.
With the four great planetary forces controlling the Monster Planet, how could Godslaying be anything but a pipe dream?
