Mated To My Best Friend's Lycan Alpha Brothers
Chapter 330: You Are The Missing Star?
CHAPTER 330: YOU ARE THE MISSING STAR?
(Author’s POV)
With her hoodie and mask on, plus the urgency to get out of the hotel, Myra didn’t notice that someone was coming from the other side as well. Her steps were hasty, leaving a trail of impatience.
At some point, she had let go of Yelena’s hand and was walking fast. As she turned around the corner, she collided with the other person, and a grunting, "Owwww!" escaped her mouth.
Yelena, who was two paces behind Myra, was about to catch her, but someone else beat her to it. He caught Myra’s wrist just in time and pulled her right into his arms. His refreshing, soothing cologne hit Myra’s nostrils, giving her a comforting feeling.
Coming back to her senses, Myra pulled herself back and gazed at the person. Her eyes dilated in shock when they met his dark sapphire orbs. Her breath hitched as she instantly realized who she was embracing and instinctively lowered her head and mumbled, in a heavy, scratchy voice, "Sorry." She was about to leave, but the person reached for her hand again. In his deep, husky voice, he hesitantly asked, "Are you~ ... alright?"
Myra’s steps halted, but she didn’t turn around and just nodded like a wobbly head figure. The one thing she was running away it was like fate had been chasing her all along.
Yelena came to her side and asked the same question, "You okay, babe?" To this, Myra only nodded in reply. Yelena shifted her gaze back to the person and was about to lash out at him for bumping into Myra, but when she saw his face, no words came out of her mouth. Her mouth agape.
After a brief moment of shock, he fumbled with her words, "You~ .... You are~ ... You are Bra~ve, Brave Everests, right?" Her eyes went as wide as saucers.
Myra clenched her jaw. She knew exactly who he was, but didn’t say anything. Instead, she tugged at Yelena’s sleeve, signalling her to just go, but the latter didn’t understand her meaning. She even misinterpreted it completely.
She thought Myra was intimidated by ’Brave’s’ presence, which is why she was so jittery and anxious. So, in return, Yelena only patted her hand back, assuring her.
Alaric remained silent, his eyes dead set on Myra. For him, it was a very weird feeling. He, too, just like Myra, was trying to keep his distance. But destiny, a thing he didn’t believe in, was adamant. Their paths kept crossing, though both of them were doing their best to avoid it.
Myra felt his piercing gaze. Her eyes flickered as she gulped down hard. There was never a single moment when she could feel at ease, ’Has he already recognized me?’
After not getting any answer, Yelena pursed her lips and called out, "Mr. Brave Everests~ .... Mr. Brave Everests?" She then doubtfully mumbled, scratching her hair, "Did I get it wrong?"
Surprisingly, this time, Alaric replied, his tone uncharacteristically polite as he said, "Uhh~ ... Brave is my twin brother. I am Alaric~ ...... Alaric Everests. Nice to meet you. But~ .... How do you know me?"
"Ohhh~ ... You are the missing star," the words came out of her mouth unconsciously. She then smacked her mouth and corrected her, "What I mean is~ ... Yesterday, we were at the seminar as well. That’s when we saw Mr. Brave."
Alaric nodded in understanding.
Before she could ask anything else, Myra pulled at her sleeve again and mumbled, "Let’s go, Yel." She didn’t even wait for her to reply and just dragged her out.
Yelena kept rambling, "Ohhh my goshhhh~ ... Myra ... HE~ WAS~ HOT~ AS~ FUCK~ ... THE GUY WAS SMOKIN’. You could have at least let me get his contact information."
"All that glitter is not gold, Yel. You should not get involved with people like him," Myra stated.
"Do you know him? Is he a bad person?" Yelena questioned as they came out of the hotel. A sudden realization hit her as she stopped in her place and said, "Wait a minute~ ... he said he was Alaric Everests~ .... Right? Everests~ Everests Corporation~ ... This rings a bell." She then gasped and spoke, her voice a shocking mess, "Weren’t~ ... Weren’t Nora’s biological family’s name Everests as well?"
Myra clenched her jaw so tightly that it began to hurt. Meanwhile, Yelena continued, "Is this what it is? Is this why you have been acting so weird lately? Ohh gosh~ .... why didn’t I notice it before ...." She then held Myra’s hand and called out, "Myra~ ..."
"Can we just go, Yelena?" Myra’s voice came out desperate and strained.
Yelena got her answer. She could feel Myra’s hand shaking. She then decided not to force her or ask anything else, and just did what Myra said. The valet guy brought her car and handed her the keys. She took Myra to the other side, settled her in the passenger seat, and adjusted her seatbelt.
After settling her down, she was about to enter the vehicle when another known face came into her vision.
"Yelena~ ... what are you doing here?" Fabian asked when he saw her, his face etched with confusion. As he stepped closer and closer, he saw Myra seated on the passenger side, his eyes narrowed.
"We had something to talk with Mrs. Garcia," Yelena told him. She then noticed his line of sight, which was already on Myra. She pressed her lips in a thin line and stated, "Actually, we are in a bit of a hurry, Fabian. We will talk later."
"But~ ...... what~ .... Are you guys~ ..." he was in the middle of saying something when Yelena showed him her hand, gesturing for him to stop right there. She then added, "Later~ .... Fabby~ ... later."
Without giving him any chance, she took on the wheel and zoomed off and out of the hotel.
The car ride was filled with awkward silence as neither of them spoke. The atmosphere was suffocating and gloomy. For the first time, Yelena didn’t couldn’t find the right words to approach the topic.
Curiosity was like a slow poison for her, as anyone in her position would feel, but she knew better, not to mention anything about Nora. After all, Nora Smith~ .... now, Nora Everests was a sore topic from Myra’s past.
Trying to cheer her best friend up from her remorseful state, she, in an extremely joyful, bubbly voice, asked, "There is a small music festival going on at the beach side. The place where Wendy and I went. Should we go there? It will be a welcome breather. What’s say?"
Myra didn’t respond. Hearing Nora’s name after such a long time had struck a nerve inside her. Was it her guilty conscience to abandon their friendship, or pity towards Nora or love she felt for her as a sister or plain affection for her childhood friend, or remorse that she didn’t even say her proper goodbyes to her, that their friendship ended on a bitter note? She wasn’t aware of the feeling. But every little moment, everything that happened came rushing through like a dam breaking, flooding her mind.
Yelena tugged at her arm and called out, "Myra~ ... should we go?"
Myra snapped back from her oppressive thoughts and looked at Yelena, her eyes moist as she asked, her voice came out hoarse, "Where?"
For a second or two, Yelena just gazed at her, a lump settling in her throat. She then said, "Nothing~ .... Let’s go."
Myra was absent minded. Her mind was dazed. She didn’t ask anything, say anything and just kept mum throughout their ride. Looking out of the window, she realized that this wasn’t the path to Red Stone, but she didn’t even comment on that. She was too tired, too exhausted by this point.

"Why were they here?" Fabian looked at the disappearing car and mumbled. She then turned around to check whether any of the Everests brothers were there or not. He was informed that Brave and Elio had returned, and the other two were still in Esteria.
Last night, Gunnar, his aide, reported to him about the investigation he had done about Myra’s time in Kimberg.

"Young master, there is not much information about Ms. Miracle’s stay at the Everests’ mansion. She was there for two weeks to visit her childhood friend, Nora’s biological parents, the Lycan King and the Luna of Moon Shine Pack. In that period, they threw a banquet for their lost daughter and her twin’s birthday, where they introduced Ms. Miracle as their goddaughter. That brought her into the limelight," Gunnar started.
Fabian interrupted him, "I know all this~ ... tell me, did you find anything suspicious during her visit?"
"I don’t know whether it can be counted as suspicious or not," Gunnar mumbled doubtfully.
"Just blurt it out, Gunnar. I will decide whether it is worth it or not," Fabian was getting a bit impatient.
With a sigh, Gunnar said, "This information~ ... it isn’t confirmed, just a rumor which I accidentally gathered. At that time, despite the tight security. A rogue attack happened near the Everests’ mansion."
