Mated To The Dead Prince
Chapter 64
CHAPTER 64: CHAPTER 64
"What?" Elowen asked with a shocked expression.
Rose stood her ground, she didn’t like Elowen and she was going to make sure she knew about that.
"Seems you’re new, you’ve never heard about me?" Elowen questioned.
Rose raised her face defiantly, "You’re never spoken of." She replied.
Elowen scoffed, looking over at Cassius, "Did you hear her, Cassius? She said you never talked about me, you too, Athan? Where are the triplets? No one ever talked about me to this insolent bitch?!" She suddenly slapped Rose.
All tbe slaves shifted away, all apart from Sun who caught Rose from falling.
Rose was shocked, hurt.
She wasn’t expecting Elowen to slap her, but it’s as they said, Elowen is crazy; but Rose sensed that she was soon going to be crazier than Elowen.
She saw Eliot try to get up from his chair but Cassius raised his hand to stop him while he casually swirled his untouched glass of blood.
"You dare to disobey? Who do you think you are?" Elowen hissed angrily.
Rose removed her hand from her stinging cheek, her face expressionless. "Disobey? I don’t answer to you, or anyone in this castle, Elowen. I only answer to my master, unless you have a poor memory, you should recall that he told you I was his." She gave Elowen a smile.
"Whoa! This place smells like tension and jealousy!" Daimen suddenly spoke as he walked into the dining hall.
"Wanted to say the same thing, brother," Damon agreed.
"Welcome home, Elowen. I see you’ve met our Rose," Dabmond went and stood beside Rose, holding her hand.
Elowen clenched her fist, "Don’t tell me you all are going soft on her, she is a human, not worthy to be amongst us -"
"Enough," Cassius’s smooth voice finally spoke up.
Elowen swallowed her words and snapped her head to Cassius, "Cassius -"
"She just told you she was mine, are you trying to disrespect by asking my slave to serve you, Elowen?" Cassius asked calmly.
Elowen lowered her head, "No. Never. Just... I don’t think it’s necessary to keep her as an exclusive slave anymore. I’m back now, everyone knows I’m the only one who can please you; letting a human take my place is a disrespect to me, Cassius," She controlled her voice that was threatening to rise due to anger.
Rose’s eyes found Cassius, he still wasn’t looking at her. He stared at his full glass of blood, his face not giving off any hint.
Rose felt weak in the knees, her hand tightening around Dabmond’s, her heart was hurting. Her imaginations were true, Elowen and Cassius did have a spicy history.
"Are you telling how to live my life?" Cassius questioned.
"No, Cassius. I just thought we could -"
"Enough, sit and drink," Cassius commanded, his voice not rising for once.
Elowen glared at Rose before she went to sit down.
Rose locked eyes with Eliot, he gave her a reassuring look but Rose didn’t need his silent support at that moment. She removed her hand from Dabmond and shifted away from him, "I’m fine," She said to him and went to stand in her previous positbehind Cassius’s chair.
The dining was once again quiet. Everyone drank their glass of undiluted blood apart from Cassius.
He sat there, swirling his drink quietly. His mind was occupied with one thing: Rose.
He was thinking of what he was going to do with her now that Elowen was back. He had to find a way to curb his addiction, or she was going to get hurt in the end.
"Brother, you’re not hungry?" Eliot asked as he noticed that Cssius hasn’t taken one sip from his drink.
Cassius placed his drink on the table and looked up at Eliot.
"Do not concern yourself with me, Brother," He stood from his chair, quietly stepping away from the table, "Enjoy your dinner, everyone." He said and walked away.
"Follow me," He said as he walked passed Rose.
Rose pulled her dress genlty before she followed him. She didn’t miss the way everyone stared at her.
Eliot had his usual worried loon that was starting to annoy her, if he really cared, then he would have helped, not always posing as a caring figure but doing nothing.
Elowen gave her a death-glare, not hiding her hatred, and Rose was already staring to get used to it.
Other slaves stared at her with their mouth clamped but words filled their heads, gossip words thatbtehy woukd spread amongst themselves the moment they keftbthis dining hall.
However, Sun was different. Rose couldn’t understand the kind of look he was giving her, it was concern and something else she couldn’t point out.
Fi ally out of the dinning hall, she followed Cassius to his study... his other study, the one they had shared their first kiss at the door.
Rose remained quiet as she went up the underground stairs, she couldn’t stop her brain from painting pictures in her head.
She thought Scarlet was the real villain but it turns out Elowen was the one she should look out for. Whoever she was, she sure did hold a special place in the castle and in Cassius’s heart.
She paused behind Cassius as they reached the door, watching him open it.
Quietly, he pushed the door open, walking in and heading straight to his table.
Rose walked in, closing the door.
She paused as she reached the front of the table, quiet.
She wasn’t going to speak unless he asked her to, she was angry, very angry, and hurt.
Cassius raised his head to look at Rose and saw her staring at the floor and not at him.
Rose heard a thud on the floor and raised her head to see the book that had play on the table now on the floor, Cassius had pushed it down on purpose.
"Pick it up," he said.
Rose didn’t say a word, she simply walked over to the side of the table and leaned over, picked the book and placed it back on the table. However, before she coukd return her hand to her side, Cassius seized it, drawing her closer.
Rose clenched her jaws, feeling more anger as Cassius held her with same hand he used to hold Elowen close to his body.
She refused to look into his eyes, afraid she’d feel the pain a double fold when she sees the distant look in his eyes.
Her feelings were betraying her, age wasn’t supposed to feel this way but here she was, getting entitled over a vampire.
What was she expecting, that she had somehow managed to make an exotic creature fall in love with her? She could keep dreaming.
This must be Isolde’s doing; she wished she coukd hear Isolde’s voice again, she had a lot if questions for her.
Rose stepped back as she saw Cassius standing from the chair, she didn’t want to be close to him at the moment until she had properly understood the situation between he made Elowen.
"You do know you’re just a slave, right?" Cassius questioned, slowdrawing her into his arms.
Roae nodded, taking her face to the side.
"Then why are you jealous?" He put his finger inde her chin.
This time, Rose stared right into his eyes, "I’m not." She stated firmly.
Cassius frowned, "Then why are you distancing yourself from me?" He caressed the side of her face,"Why did you speak to her in disrespect?" He whispered.
Rose frowned too, "I’m not distancing myself from you, you’re my master, I can’t get too comfortable around you. I didn’t disrespect her, I was just stating who I belonged.... who I served. I’m not her slave, she’s not my problem. I only serve you, Master. Unless you ask me to serve someone else, only then can I do so," She explained.
Cassius shut his eyes and placed his forehead against Rose’s, "You’re jealous. I can feel it," He called her out.
Rose wanted to step away from him but he held her tightly, still placing his forehead on hers. "You’re not allowed to be jealous, Rose. Jealousy is dangerous. Always remember, you’re just a slave, I can ask you to watch me while I pleasure myself with her and you won’t have any option than to do so. You belong to only me, but I font belong to you, no one can own me, Rose. Don’t try to own me," He whispered.
Rose chuckled, "It’s all in your head, Master. I’ve never wanted to own you, perhaps you want me to? But you don’t have to worry, I’m never getting in the way of you and your lover. I’m really hoping you mate her instead of me... you both are the perfect match," Rose smiled at him, a relaxed, annoying smile.
Cassius grabbed her chin, his face darkening, "Don’t try my patience, Rose... Don’t speak to me in that manner," He warned.
Rose chuckled, "You know what? I think I will talk to you however I want. After all, it’s not like being nice is going to make you love me, or set me free. Why should I be nice amd still suffer? Or rather be a pain I’m all your asses and know that my sufferings are worth it," She said defiantly.
Cassius stared into her eyes, seeing how her blue eyes swirled as she spoke. She looked beautiful when she was extra stubborn; instead of getting angry or punishing her, he was turned on.
"You think you can survive that way?" He asked, smirking.
"I’m a Lux, its time I embrace who I am, I’ve been running away from who I really am. I think I’m going to embrace my situation, if I cant escape, I’ll make sure I make you all suffer," She removed his hand from her and stepped away.
"I’m no longer having sex with you. In fact, I prefer to be a normal slave, i don’t e er want to associated with you again. You can fuck Elowen till your duck stops functioning," She breathed hard as get anger started to get the better of her.
Cassius chuckled, finding her funny. "Come to me, Rose. I’ll make you a fair deal," He stretched his hand to her, smiling cunningly.
Rose stared at him; she was saying all thise things to let him know how she felt, but she never decieved herself by thinking that he would sit and let her do whatever she wanted.
Staring at Cassius outstretched hand, she knew she was about to make a deal with the devil. But, it seemed like the best thing to do.
She went forward and held his hand, "Oh," she gasped as he pulled her in, pressing her against him.
He lowered his face to her ear and whispered, "Make me love you and I’ll set you free," He kissed her cheek.
Rose frowned, "W-what do you mean?" She asked.
"The day I say those three words to you will be the day I set you free," He said to her.
Rose laughed, "I knew it, it was going to be something impossible. I don’t want your love, and you’ll never love me, Cassius. I’d be a fool to agree to that, it means I’m never leaving this place," She Sighed.
Cassius raised his brows, "You’re a Lux. You’ll figure out a way. Trust me, if you don’t agreee, I’ll bring your friend to join you. What do you think?" He asked.
Rose balled her fists, "No. I’ll do it, I’ll make you love me, you’ll see. But you have to promise to let me go when that happens," She glared him.
Cassius slowly nodded, "I promise," he whispered amd kissed her lips.
