Mated to the Mad Lord
Chapter 329: Smirk
CHAPTER 329: SMIRK
"Find out everything that’s going on in that mansion! You were his right-hand man for so many years! Get me answers!" Eldric ordered Ravon who instantly bowed his head and vigorously nodded his head to show that he would do exactly as he had been told.
It was the second time such a thing was happening where he wasn’t able to see Cain, the first time being when he had failed to transform back into his human form.
’I trust Lady June! I refuse to believe that whatever she did to him wasn’t permanent!’ he thought to himself with a deep frown on his face even as he got back into his car and ordered for the driver to head back to the airstrip where he would take a plane that would take him back to his district.
Still, even as he remained in the car he began to send messages to each of the werewolf lords whom he was confident were completely on his sides informing them of the new development.
’This might be a good time to attack Lord Bernard’s territory. Lady Bella his daughter is not a threat!’ he thought to himself aware of the mistake he did with Lord William’s territory but not particularly worried about it.
As long as Fiona was pregnant with a child that was his grandson then there was no reason why the territory wouldn’t be his. ’Even if she loses the baby... as long as I kill Fervor, who’s ability is weak like the runt he is then there’s nothing for me to be worried about!’ he thought to himself with a deep frown on his face an expression that slowly and truly turned into a wide smile.
Thinking of all the territories that would become his and slowly make him king. Soon he went as far as to chuckle to himself in a low tone as he stared out of the moving car, squaring his shoulders with confidence aware that once he became the true Alpha of all the werewolf territories then he could go ahead and bring the Vampires down.
’Lord Javi is not a threat!’ he decided aware that as long as he had Lady June a powerful witch as his partner. Moreover once the elixir of life was actually made, it would not only make him impossible to kill but also ensure that he was much more powerful than any other werewolf including the vampires with bloodline abilities.
The more he thought about it the funnier he found it as he continued to chuckle in a low tone to himself with an amused expression on his face.
’I’ll make sure it works out even if I have to kill everyone who stands in my way!’ he decided with a cruel glint in his eyes as he watched as the driver drove faster than before under his directions.
Ravon who sat beside him in the same car didn’t dare to speak a word even as he stared out the window he sat beside thinking of Cain whose his loyalty belonged to.
’I hope my lord is doing fine!’ he thought to himself wondering why Cain had refused to step out something that he would never do unless something was truly and utterly wrong.
***********
For the first week Fiona was nothing but a shadow of herself even as Huria her maid took care of every single thing that pertained to her. From dressing her to washing her hair and feeding her while Fiona simply did things mechanically in response while under constant watch of four guards.
It was clear that for some misconstrued reason Fervor was intent on not allowing her die especially when she had made it clear that dying was something she wanted to do.
Still regardless of their towering presence they might as well have been a speck on the wall as Fiona simply didn’t so much as register their presence with the permanent blank stare that was constantly on her face as she sat down and watched Huria scurry back and forth doing things that weren’t clearly in her job description.
When did a maid need to wash her master’s butt? Fiona almost found it funny as she went ahead to do things that would even piss her off even more only to watch as she silently cleaned up Fiona’s mess without a word of complaint until finally Fiona could no longer keep quiet having not opened her mouth to speak in days.
"Are you not tired?" Fiona opened her mouth to speak even as she asked Huria a question that had plagued her for too long for her to continue to keep quiet.
"You could quit and leave! There’s no way you won’t be able to find work somewhere else!" Fiona said leaving out the rest of what she wanted to say. ’Somewhere better!’ she told her even as Huria instantly shook her head even before Fiona was done speaking after getting over the shock of even hearing her open her mouth to speak.
"Yes, but the pay can’t be as much as what I’m getting paid for taking care of you! I have people depending on me!" she responded which made Fiona instantly nod her head in an almost robotic manner.
"I understand... you have people that care about you! Much better than looking like a monster with no one..." she began to say only to hear Huria continue to speak in a much fiercer tone than she had ever heard her use.
"...don’t you want revenge?" she asked her voice low—so low that even Fiona had to blink to ensure that she had indeed heard the words Huria spoke and not imagined it only to hear her speak again. "Don’t you want revenge?" Huria seriously asked with an almost pained look on her face.
"...you’re suffering and you’ve suffered! I know you well enough to know that you aren’t stupid!" Huria said almost biting her tongue after she had spoken even as she hurriedly bowed her head and began to apologize with a tinge of fear in her voice.
"I mean no disrespect!" she said with her head lowered even as Fiona who sat on the bed unable to look at the mirror slowly got to her feet and slowly began to walk over to it with Huria’s words still ringing in her head.
