Chapter 46: Fuguang and Moonlight
Tang Song was seated in the Juhuide Hotel's rest area, reviewing his followers’ comments on Little Red Book, when a message notification popped up.
[Yaoyao Ling: "Wow, I had no idea you were in Yan City too! You promised food and lodging, remember! My dear friend, if I ever lose my job, I’ll come find you!"]
Tang Song smiled, surprised by the coincidence. He replied, “No problem. Though I live in a one-bedroom apartment, a 1.5-meter bed is big enough for the both of us.”
Just as he was about to check the next note, a voice called out, “Mr. Tang, good afternoon. I didn’t expect to see you here.”
Tang Song looked up, surprised, and stood up to greet the chubby man in front of him, “Aren’t you from Yunxi Property…?”
“Yes, yes! I’m Sun Jiajie from the Leasing and Development Department!” Sun Jiajie’s face beamed with a warm smile.
“Hello, Supervisor Sun.”
Sun Jiajie introduced the gentleman with gold-rimmed glasses beside him, “Mr. Tang, this is He Zhenglei, Director of Sales at Huiguang Decor. They’re handling the renovation work for your office.”
“Hello, Mr. Tang!” He Zhenglei, despite not knowing the young man’s identity, sensed from Sun Jiajie’s attitude that Tang Song was important.
Tang Song shook his hand politely, “Hello, Director He.”
“Mr. Tang, are you waiting for someone?” Sun Jiajie noticed the queue number Tang Song was holding and suggested, “Why don’t we dine together? We’re here to discuss a hotel renovation project with a client.”
Tang Song shook his head, “Thanks, but I’m waiting for some friends.”
“Maybe next time then!” Sun Jiajie pulled out a card and handed it to Tang Song, “Mr. Tang, this is our platinum VIP card for Juhuide Hotel, where we have a business collaboration. There are reserved private rooms upstairs!”
Tang Song considered the upcoming conversation with Gao Mengting and accepted the card, “Thanks. I’ll use it for now and return it to you at Yunxi Tower later.”
“There's no need to return it, Mr. Tang. Just keep it,” Sun Jiajie insisted. He then spoke with the lobby manager and arranged for a private room.
“Mr. Tang, a room is ready on the third floor. I’ll take Director He there first and come toast you later.”
“Thank you. If it weren’t for you, I’d be waiting much longer.”
“You’re too kind, Mr. Tang. Here’s my personal card. Contact me anytime.”
They exchanged pleasantries and headed upstairs, parting ways at the corridor. Tang Song was led to a private room named “Fuguang.”
The room was elegantly decorated with classical touches, featuring a private restroom and lounge area—very high-end.
...
Inside the private room “Moonlight,” Sun Jiajie and He Zhenglei joined Huang Yangming, the owner of Yunli Hotel, who was hosting the meeting. They exchanged warm greetings before Huang introduced the matter at hand.
“Old Sun, Ms. Gao here needs to discuss something urgent regarding her lease at Baoyun Center. Could you assist her?”
Gao Mengting, who had been sitting quietly, stood up and explained, “Supervisor Sun, I’m a tenant at Baoyun Center. Due to business difficulties, I need to terminate my lease early. The contract requires me to pay the remaining rent and forfeit the deposit. Given my current financial situation, could you offer some leniency or a delay?”
Sun Jiajie frowned slightly, “Ms. Gao, company policies are strict. Lease terms are not easily altered.”
Huang Yangming took a sip of his drink and chuckled, “Old Sun, Ms. Gao is a friend of mine. Can’t you make an exception?”
Sun Jiajie, understanding the implication, hesitated briefly before agreeing: “Alright, given Mr. Huang’s request, I’ll speak with the legal department. A complete waiver isn’t possible, and the deposit is non-refundable, but we can postpone the payment date by a few months.”
Wang Dongrui from the engineering department added, “No need to restore the shop to its original condition if you’re terminating the lease. Any minor damages to walls or floors won’t be an issue.”
Gao Mengting felt a weight lift off her shoulders. Although not the best outcome, it provided much-needed relief. She asked cautiously, “When should I come to the property office?”
“Next Wednesday, after 10 AM,” Sun Jiajie replied.
Gao Mengting set a reminder on her phone, thanking them sincerely, “Thank you for your understanding and Mr. Huang for your help.”
Huang Yangming casually suggested, “Ms. Gao seems capable and well-mannered. Let’s add each other on WeChat. Maybe we can discuss business opportunities in the future.”
“Thank you for your recognition, Mr. Huang.” She masked her emotions, smiling as she scanned his WeChat code.
Outside the room, Li Yongming sighed in relief but felt awkward, having been of little help. Gao Mengting checked her phone, “Tang Song is in the ‘Fuguang’ room on the third floor. Shall we join him?” ʀᴇᴀᴅ ʟᴀᴛᴇsᴛ ᴄʜᴀᴘᴛᴇʀs ᴀᴛ NoveI★Fire.net
“Dreaming, Mengting. This Tang Song is unreliable. Now that the lease issue is settled, we should leave.”
Gao Mengting frowned, “We can’t back out on our word. You don’t have to come if you don’t want to.”
“I’ll come! Let’s go.” Reluctantly, Li Yongming agreed and followed her to the “Fuguang” room.
