CHAPTER 226: SHE GOT HER PREGNANT!!!

Minute after minute passed, and Shen Mingyue continued her account without pause, her voice growing hoarse. The silence of the room was only broken by her steady explanation, while Miqiu sat still, her small hands trembling faintly as she absorbed it all.

Half an hour passed in this way. At last, Shen Mingyue exhaled a weary breath and finally came to an end. The room grew quiet again, only the faint sound of the wind brushing against the window was left. She raised her eyes to Shen Miqiu, who now sat with her head lowered. Her expression was unreadable, her lashes trembling slightly as if she were caught in a deep and tangled thought.

Then, in the next instant, something strange happened. Shen Miqiu’s eyes suddenly seemed to glow faintly, as though some inner light had awakened within her. That pair of eyes, usually soft and childish, shone with a sharp brilliance as they turned instinctively towards one particular direction—towards Mother Lan’s room.

The glow lasted only for a second, but to Shen Mingyue it felt much longer. Afterward, the brilliance faded just as quickly, and Miqiu looked back again, this time her gaze filled with a suppressed storm. Her lips parted, and she almost whispered, her voice trembling yet clear enough for all to hear,

"Then... are you telling me that Yin is Lan Xu now... a human with only the cultivation of foundation building?"

The question came out heavy, pressing down on the room like a stone.

Shen Mingyue nodded gently, her tone calm but filled with quiet assurance.

"Yes," she said softly. "Don’t worry, she will recover soon."

But those words did not calm Miqiu at all. Instead, they ignited something even fiercer inside her.

"No—wait!!" Shen Miqiu suddenly burst out. "That’s not the point—I already know she will recover!"

Her voice cracked as though she could no longer hold it inside. This time, her tone was so sharp it was almost a scream. Her small body trembled violently as she jumped up from her seat, her whole figure taut with urgency. She stared directly into Shen Mingyue’s eyes, forcing her sister to confront the sheer force of her emotions.

But her gaze did not remain there for long. She turned her head sharply, her eyes locking onto another figure across the room. It was Mo Yuxin, who at that very moment was laughing softly and flirting with Su Yubing, their conversation light and teasing.

The intensity of Shen Miqiu’s stare was like a sudden blade cutting through the air. Mo Yuxin felt it immediately, her back stiffening as though struck by a sudden chill. She blinked, startled by the uncharacteristic weight of that gaze, and slowly raised her eyes. Su Yubing, noticing her companion’s sudden change, followed her gaze as well, and the two of them found themselves staring into Shen Miqiu’s burning eyes.

There was silence for a brief moment, as if time itself held its breath.

Then, Shen Miqiu spoke. Her voice trembled at first, but with every word, it grew louder, fiercer, until it burst out with the force of a thunderclap.

"You are telling me... that Mo Yuxin... is your and Yin’s daughter!!!!!!!"

The words exploded into the room, so powerful that even the walls seemed to echo them back. Her whole body shook as she shouted, her eyes wide with shock, disbelief, and a thousand other emotions colliding all at once.

Shen Mingyue froze, her lips pressing together tightly, a faint heat creeping onto her cheeks. She didn’t know why, but she suddenly felt extremely embarrassed, as if she had been caught doing something improper, something unspeakable. It was not shame in the truest sense, but more like the guilty awkwardness of a child who had been caught red-handed stealing fruit from the kitchen. She could not explain it even to herself.

Yet, even with her heart rattled like that, Shen Mingyue did not bow her head. No matter how red her ears grew, she still maintained her senior sister’s dignity. Straightening her back, she narrowed her eyes with that frosty aura unique to her and stared directly at Shen Miqiu. Her tone was sharp, cold, and deliberately provocative.

"Yes," she said firmly, almost challengingly, "Mo Yuxin is my and Yin’s daughter. Why? You don’t like it?"

The words struck the air like a whip crack.

Shen Miqiu’s face trembled violently, almost as though she might explode again right on the spot. Her eyes flickered with sharp light, sparks crackling like a storm brewing in the heavens. For a single breath, it seemed as though she would unleash another fierce outburst.

But then—surprisingly—her storm calmed. Her eyes lowered slightly, her chest rose and fell a few times, and when she raised her head again, her expression had smoothed into something gentler, more composed. She turned away from Shen Mingyue and instead faced Mo Yuxin and Su Yubing, who still looked half-confused and half-curious.

Her gaze locked onto Mo Yuxin, and when she spoke this time, her voice was much softer, almost tender.

"I’m sorry for being rude earlier, Mo Yuxin," she said earnestly. "Don’t worry. It’s amazing—truly amazing—that you are Yin and Yang’s daughter. And it is even more amazing that you are the successor of Rule. I have always regarded Yin as my elder sister... to humans, she was like a mother figure. In that sense... you are my junior sister. I hope you don’t mind."

The words, spoken so sincerely, startled Mo Yuxin completely. Her mouth parted slightly, her eyes widening in disbelief. She was caught between surprise, relief, and a strange warmth that welled up in her chest. Such a rapid shift in Shen Miqiu’s behavior—explosive rage one moment, gentle apology the next—left her somewhat dazed.

Not knowing how to respond immediately, Mo Yuxin instinctively turned to Su Yubing for help. Her eyes, wide and shining with innocent confusion, pleaded silently for guidance.

Su Yubing, however, could only feel helpless at that look. It was always like this: no matter how strong Mo Yuxin acted, no matter how brilliant her talent, in the end she would always turn to her with that same childlike gaze, as though asking, "What do I do now?"

Su Yubing sighed inwardly, her calm composure never faltering. In all existence, the seven beings of chaos were bound most closely to one another. They could understand one another in ways no outsiders ever could. And Mo Yuxin—though extraordinary—was still the youngest among them. Her reliance, her innocence, these things were only natural.

So Su Yubing gave the smallest of nods. Just that one, slight motion.

Mo Yuxin, however, lit up as though she had received heavenly permission. Like a well-behaved child being granted approval by her elder—though in truth, Su Yubing was not her elder but her lover—she straightened up immediately. Turning back to Shen Miqiu, her eyes filled with eagerness and warmth, she spoke brightly,

"It’s okay. I am happy to be your junior sister. And I am truly happy and grateful that all of you can accept me so easily, so lovingly."

Hearing this, Shen Miqiu finally let out a long breath, her tense shoulders relaxing. Relief washed over her face, and when she looked at Mo Yuxin again, her gaze was completely transformed. It was no longer that of a furious interrogator or a doubtful critic. Instead, it was the gaze of an older sister filled with tenderness, looking at a younger sibling with pride and affection.

"That’s good," Shen Miqiu murmured softly, nodding again and again. "That’s good, that’s good."

The air seemed to ease for a moment. But then—her eyes shifted.

Her gaze fell upon Shen Mingyue, who was standing slightly to the side, a faint smile tugging at her lips as she looked at the touching scene between them. But instead of feeling comforted by that smile, Shen Miqiu’s blood boiled all over again.

Her body stiffened. Her brows knitted tightly. Anger surged.

"What are you laughing at, Senior Sister!!" she suddenly snapped, her voice slicing through the calm like a sword.

Shen Mingyue blinked, caught off guard. For a brief second, her thoughts froze. Everything had been going well, hadn’t it? The misunderstanding seemed to be resolved, everyone was smiling, harmony was restored. Why was her younger sister suddenly angry again?

"What are you talking about? Be clear," Shen Mingyue replied, frowning slightly, though her voice remained calm.

But Shen Miqiu was already glaring with a fury that seemed unstoppable. She clenched her fists so tightly that her knuckles turned white.

She stared at Shen Mingyue intensely, and then, with a trembling chest, she screamed word by word, each syllable bursting with raw emotion:

"You!! You!! You knew that Yin was injured—but you still!! You still got her pregnant!!! You... perverted woman!!!"

Her voice rang out like thunder. The sheer force of her accusation made the very atmosphere in the room freeze instantly, as though even the air itself did not dare to move.

Dead silence.

The faces of Mo Yuxin and Su Yubing stiffened in shock. Their eyes widened slightly, caught unprepared by such a blunt and scandalous outburst.

The atmosphere reached a freezing point, heavy and unbearable.

And then—

"Ppfftt!"

The silence shattered as a laugh escaped Mo Yuxin’s lips, followed quickly by another from Su Yubing.

If one looked at them carefully, it was obvious they were both desperately trying to suppress it, their shoulders trembling violently as they fought to maintain composure.

Mo Yuxin practically threw herself against Su Yubing, hugging her tightly, burying her entire face into her lover’s neck to muffle her laughter. Her whole body shook as though she were trembling with suppressed sobs—but it was laughter, irrepressible and overflowing.
