Mecha Devourer System
Chapter 158: The Nakros Buster (III)
CHAPTER 158: THE NAKROS BUSTER (III)
The Nakros Buster was exceptionally massive, its reinforced frame plated with golden alloys, polished to a reflective shine, and interlaced with glowing energy conduits that pulsed along its surface.
Its arms were six in total, all emerging from its massive shoulders.
Two of the arms ended in humanoid hands, each with five opposable digits, identical to a human’s primitive hands.
Everlearn’s aim for this arm was to give the Nakros Buster the ability to grab, whether to wield a Mecha Weapon or to throw punches.
The two beneath ended in massive tiger-like paws, their tips gleaming with a cold silver sharpness.
These were already weapons of their own, made with sharpened metals that held their destructive energy, though that wasn’t currently activated.
The final two, longer and heavier, were no longer arms in the traditional sense.
Instead, they were massive bomb nozzles, the kind capable of launching shells rivalling those of army tanks.
This was a straight-on integration of a weapon inside the mech itself.
The head was a sharp, helmeted design, glowing lines tracing along its contours.
It stood on two powerful legs, each massive enough to bear its large frame.
Eye-catching was its chest, which held a central core, wider, taking up all the area on its chest.
Everlearn tapped the core, and it rippled at once, exposing its inner structure.
It contained circuits and energy conduits that converged into a glowing nexus deeper within, transferring energy through all six limbs.
His hands reached into his pocket, and he brought out the chip, placing it in the vacant center.
The second it was placed in, Everlearn quickly jerked his arm back as the chest of the mech closed up with a loud,
BAAAAAANG!
DRUUUUUUUUUUUUM!
The sound it made was a muffled roar, and its immense body suddenly lit up as glowing crimson lines ran across its surface.
Two crimson dots of light shone from where its eyes ought to be, forming lasers that shone down on Everlearn, who didn’t even reach its knee.
The mech remained unblinking, radiating an intense amount of power before it finally spoke.
"Identify Yourself!"
The question made Everlearn’s heart consciously sink.
The voice was thick. Ridiculously thick.
He had designed it himself and heard it dozens of times, but hearing it echo from a towering mech made it hit completely differently.
Still, he responded.
"Everlearn Snowfall."
"Everlearn Snowfall. Name and appearance match! Your Identification has been confirmed."
In the next moment, the mech’s hulking frame lowered.
One massive leg pulled back as it dropped to a single knee, bowing its head and crossing an arm over its chest.
"Ready To Take on Your Order, Commander Everlearn!"
It said, the voice booming crazily, yet Everlearn smiled through it all.
"Haha."
"Hahaha."
"Hahahahaa."
He couldn’t tell when it began, but the quiet, wicked cackle grew and grew.
Within moments, an almost mad crackling laughter echoed from the rooftop as Everlearn lost control and laughed hysterically.

The panel flashed, giving him the ultimate confirmation he needed.
But all of a sudden, Everlearn noticed something strange.
There was a light coming from somewhere, shining on half his face.
It was from his neck.
His neck was glowing with a golden light from a mark, and in the next moment,
"System."
In an instant, the Nakros Buster vanished into thin air, stored back inside the system’s shop.
Everlearn dismissed the invisibility barrier around him.
His head snapped upward, and there, roughly ten kilometers away, high among the clouds, was the silhouette of a being.
A being that came closer to him with every passing second, and soon he was just a kilometer away, and in another blink, was less than 50 meters away, hovering in the air with no aid beneath his feet.
The sight of him made Everlearn’s eyes widen slightly.
He did not expect to see him here.
As the being finally arrived, floating down from the sky and landing on the building, his full features became clearer,
He was a heavily built, dark-skinned man, a black coat draped loosely over his shoulder. Thick dreadlocks framed his face, and the familiar scar carved across his cheek made his identity unmistakable.
This was The Boss.
The leader of the X Guardian, who had given him the X-Guardian mark, asked him to undergo training in X Guard Academy, so he could one day become a full-fledged X Guardian.
[A/N: In case you still don’t remember him, he appears in Chapter 28, Meeting With Him (I) ]
"Everlearn Snowfall. It’s been quite a while."
The Boss greeted, and Everlearn bowed slightly, calling,
"Boss."
A glint passed through his silvery dark eyes as he noticed the staff in Everlearn’s hand.
"You had a leg injury?" He asked, and Everlearn shrugged it off.
"Just a little accident in the Lab. Nothing serious," he said.
"I heard of your promotion from Principal Onelore. She said you’re a second year and you chose to join the Mech Design Institute."
The man said, and Everlearn nodded.
"That is correct."
"But now, don’t you think that joining the Mech Design Institute will lead to you becoming lesser in the Combat Area required to be a great Corer?" he asked, but then his brows creased as he stared intently at him, at his chest to be precise.
"And speaking of being a great Corer..."
"You’re still only fused with an X-grade Core."
He said, his brows creasing slightly as he stared at Everlearn’s chest.
In there, he could feel the wave of energy radiating, and it was only X-grade level.
All second-years were at W grade, some nearly at its peak, and he was still at X.
And now that he’s joined the Mech Institute, that means an automatic downgrade of his Corer capabilities.
It made sense; six months at the academy was hardly long, but a quiet disappointment lingered.
The amusing boy hadn’t quite reached the level he had expected.
He was filled with disappointment, and Everlearn immediately saw it in his eyes.
He did not try to defend it with words; instead, he raised his staff, dangling 2 meters away from the center of the boss’s chest, and then,
KABOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!
