CHAPTER 76: BRUTAL BATTLE

"RUN! RUN! ALL YOU WANT!"

GRRRRRRHHHHHHH!

BOOOOOOOOOOM!

A part of the arena wall was cleaved into pieces as chainsaws slashed over its surface.

Jumping backward, a figure appeared behind him as Vulcan slowly turned his head.

In both arms, the crazily spinning chainsaw machines were slowly gaining a crimson light.

"YOU WILL BE CLEAVED APART SOON!"

Vulcan roared out, his eyes turning wholly white.

He flashed forward, becoming even faster.

Jumping into the air, both chainsaws slashed down toward Everlearn, who hurriedly backed off.

BAAAAAANG!

The ground was sliced apart like butter in an instant.

Vulcan surged forward with even more speed, slashing toward his neck.

He stepped back, avoiding the machine’s edge, as another chainsaw slashed for his waist.

Jumping off the ground, he spun in the space between both chainsaws and landed on the ground.

He tried to gain some distance, but then,

BOOOOOM!

The ground shattered apart as Vulcan cleaved his chainsaw forward through the ground, sending sand flying over Everlearn’s eyes.

’What the—!?’

One of his eyes got blinded by the sand.

In the next moment—

GRRHHHSSS!

GRHRHRHS!

Vulcan slashed forward recklessly toward Everlearn, who repeatedly backed off, narrowly avoiding the chainsaws.

But it was like Vulcan had gone mad.

His laughter grew louder and sinister, his chains growing louder and turning red hot as they moved with even more speed.

RIIIIIIIP!

RIIIIIIIP!

He dodged two chainsaws slashing toward his neck, but blood sprayed into the air when the spinning edge clipped into one of his arms, splattering blood everywhere.

"DIIIIIIIEEEEEEE!"

Vulcan roared, the chainsaws stabbing toward Everlearn’s stomach.

Everlearn crossed his arms, catching the vicious chainsaw in between his hands, but then Vulcan’s grin widened, twisting his hand.

The chainsaws cleaved through flesh and bone as Everlearn kicked his knee out, slamming into Vulcan’s hand and sending the chainsaws upward.

His leg slammed into Vulcan’s side the next moment, sending him taking five steps backward.

It finally gave him enough space to wipe off his eyes, but all he saw was blood raining across his face.

Turning to his hands, they had been roughly slashed open, his own bloody bones visible, the chunk of flesh that was supposed to hide them having been roughly cleaved off.

"What madness is this?" Everlearn muttered, turning to look at Vulcan, whose chains dripped down with his own blood.

This was a challenge for points, and yet those chainsaws had countless times reached for his neck, a clear attempt to kill him.

He turned his gaze up and found them, the students in the arena roaring for Vulcan, screaming for more carnage.

He turned to the instructor’s side, and noticed they did not move an inch away from their seat.

Instead was a smirk on their lips when they noticed him looking at them.

"You think they’ll stop the fight!?"

Vulcan said to him, one of his eyes having regained its black iris, though the other was still wholly white, like it had rolled to the back of his head.

"You’re naive!" Vulcan called out, stretching the chainsaws toward him.

"This arena has already sent three souls to Hell this week, and the same instructors you see watched it happen with smirks on their faces, while the other students roared for more!"

Everlearn could not believe his ears.

Students die in challenges?

Then what was the point of the instructors acting as judges?

Wasn’t that to prevent casualties?

Yet, looking at the frantic students and the silent judges, even as his arm spurted blood, he realized the brutal truth.

"So, that’s how it is, huh?"

Everlearn muttered to himself, and in the next moment,

BOOOOM!

BOOOOM!

BOOOOM!

The ground shook heavily as Vulcan ran forward, jumping high into the air a meter away as both saws cleaved downward with reckless abandon.

"Surrender or die!"

HUUUUUUM!

A ripple of energy surged out as something deep within Everlearn’s chest hummed to life.

BOOOOOOOOM!

The ground once more was cleaved apart as the chainsaws landed into it, but then.

BOOOOOOOOM!

Vulcan raised his head to the sight of a kick slamming forward toward his face.

He raised his chainsaw edges to block it, a malicious grin on his lips.

But then the kick suddenly halted in the air, just a centimeter from the chainsaws.

"What the—?"

BOOOOM!

A head was roughly smashed into the ground as Everlearn’s kick slammed from above, nailing Vulcan face-first into the floor.

The system panel flashed, and in that moment, Everlearn rolled into the air as Vulcan forcefully jerked his head up.

"DIIIEEEEEE!"

He screamed in anger, both chainsaws cleaving toward Everlearn, who was hanging in the air.

His hand immediately reached out, gently landing on the back of Vulcan’s hands, and he pushed, avoiding the blades that followed.

BOOOOOOOOM!

The ground shook as he landed, and Vulcan instantly flashed forward toward him.

Everlearn rose, clenching both hands into fists, in a boxing stance.

’Activate Apex Strike.’

GRRRRRHHH!

The chainsaws slashed toward his shoulder, but they missed as he weaved to the side.

Neon blue light flickered out from beneath his skin, and his right arm punched up into the air.

BOOOOOOOOOM!

A shockwave exploded as an upper cut slammed into Vulcan’s jaw from below, sending him 10 centimeters into the air.

He landed on the ground, taking two steps backward, his eyes widening as he watched the blood that poured out from his lips.

He raised his head toward Everlearn in shock, and all he found was a punch rapidly magnifying towards his nose.

He had followed after the upper cut, as Vulcan’s face rippled like mashed flesh as the glowing punch slammed head-on.

BOOOOOOM!

He was fully blown off his feet, tumbling ten meters backward on the ground before coming to a stop.

"YOU BASTARD!" Vulcan roared, rushing toward him.

GRRRHHH!

GRRRH!

GRRRRRH!

Chainsaws flew all over the air, but in between them was Everlearn, flickering around them like a ghost, a punch or two occasionally flashing out and smashing into Vulcan, knocking him back.

"DIIIIIIIIIIIEEE!"

He roared out once more as Vulcan slashed his edge toward his head.

This time, Everlearn dodged, but before the chains came down, he held Vulcan by the wrists before forcefully twisting his hands backward.

Vulcan’s eyes widened in shock and horror, watching his own red-hot chainsaws forcefully directed toward his shoulder.

RIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIP!

Blood and flesh burst into the air as his chainsaws relentlessly tore through his shoulder, cleaving straight toward the center of his chest before hanging in between his ribs

The chains went silent for a moment as Vulcan moved three steps backward, his eyes flashing in shock at the blue eyes staring at him.

"It hurts, doesn’t it?" Everlearn whispered coldly just as he collapsed on his back, his own chainsaws buried in his torso.

"WINNER: EVERLEARN SNOWFALL!"
