CHAPTER 77: GAINING MASSIVE POINTS

The announcement from the instructor was like a bombshell being dropped.

The arena was enveloped in complete silence, with the very students having shot to their feet in shock, while six of the eight instructors had also risen in disbelief.

Vulcan had been defeated!?

How!?

He was Number 15!

Everlearn was 205, and he was only challenged because he got lucky and earned massive points, probably from doing well in class.

He was supposed to be a little side quest to gain some extra points.

Yet, he had won!?

And not in any scammy way, but through true undebatable combat.

He had won the fight!

"He won?"

"HE WON!"

"HE WONNNNN!!!!"

"YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAH!"

While the entire arena was enveloped in deadly silence, it was broken by a loud noise from one person in the stands.

Everyone turned their raised brows, just to find Joey, the chubby fighter boy who had approached Everlearn earlier, jumping up and down like a baboon in his seat.

Joey knew Everlearn would lose the fight.

He had even told Everlearn there was no way he was winning that match.

And yet, Joey had actually bet on Everlearn.

Not because he believed Everlearn would win, but because he knew everyone was betting on Vulcan.

Even if Vulcan won, Joey wouldn’t gain much from the fight since everyone was betting for him anyway.

So, in the end, he made a risky move, betting on Everlearn instead.

Even if Everlearn lost, he would only lose a measly ten points.

But if Everlearn won, he would make fifty points!

That was just too great to pass up, and in the last moment, he decided to go with Everlearn.

Yet, who would have guessed that Everlearn would actually win!?

_______

With the fight being over,

BOOOOM!

The ground shook, and Everlearn jumped high into the air before landing back on the stadium seats, moving towards the exits.

His hands were still dripping in blood, with chunks of flesh dangling.

He had to get that fixed as soon as possible.

Before he fully stepped out of the stadium, he heard a familiar call.

"Hey! Hey!"

He turned back, and of course, it was the chubby Joey racing after him.

"Hey, I got some healing serum! They’ll fix that flesh wound, no problem!" Joey said as he handed over a bottle of healing serum before suspicion flashed across Everlearn’s eyes.

║Those are truly healing serums.║

The system confirmed, and Joey popped open the cap before pouring the liquid on Everlearn’s wounds.

White steam rose, and in the next moment, extreme regeneration occurred as the flesh on Everlearn’s skin quickly began mending together.

The almost broken bones were mended, while the rest of his flesh quickly fused back together, leaving just scars remaining.

"See? It works, right?" Joey called out as Everlearn flexed his fingers.

Truly, things were fine once more, and even the stinging pain had eased a lot.

DIIING!

The sound of ringing echoed out, coming from Joey’s device, and he turned to check it.

Everlearn watched the boy’s chubby cheeks wiggle as he smiled in excitement.

"Hey, check your device! Your bet should’ve been credited!" Joey called out to him, and in that moment.

BEEEEP!

The sound of beeping from his own device rang out, and Everlearn turned to it, just to find the notification:

[{You Won The Challenge Against Vulcan}]

[{You have received 50% of his points: 100 Points!}]

[{BetloSelose Notification!}]

[{You Bet Right! You Gained 250 Points!}]

"What the!? 250 points!?"

Everlearn called out in shock as Joey laughed out loud.

"Crazy, right? I bet that’s even more than what you gained from Vulcan."

"You see, the real money is in the bets!"

"If you bet right, you’ll be bloody rich!"

"Interesting," Everlearn muttered.

"Hey, I’m part of Betloselose. And from now on, you’ll only be getting even more challenges from others, whether you like it or not."

"So why not try and maximize your returns? Let me have your number, and when you get or challenge someone, I’ll work out the best odds for you and make sure your pockets get filled."

"All I need is your number. What do you say?"

Everlearn stared at the chubby dude quietly, suspicion flashing in his eyes.

It was clear the guy was trying to take advantage of him.

The whole betting stuff seemed scammy in some way, but when Everlearn saw his total balance, he had to admit, there was some truth to it.

’If the instructors themselves allow it, then it’s probably no big deal."

"Besides, with so many points now, I’ve only got a grace of five days before another stream of challenges comes in."

"So why not maximize my returns for the effort like he said?’

He mused, and in the next moment, brought out his device.

"Fine by me," he said, and they both exchanged contacts.

" Okay, man. I’mma give you a call sometime soon."

"We cool, man!" Joey said before quickly running back to the arena.

Everlearn shrugged it off before continuing out of the stadium, but halfway through his walk, he paused as he looked at his own clothes.

His trousers right now had been reduced to crazy jeans, slashed up at the thighs and knees, and the same was true for his hoodie, with the arm part having been sliced off.

Two of his hoodies had already been wasted, first when he faced those radiorats, and now this too.

It was obvious.

He needed new clothes.

And now that he had some good points in hand, this was the perfect chance to get what he wanted

And so, Everlearn took a detour, moving toward the shop area.

At exactly 6:32, he appeared before his dormitory, taking the elevator.

DIIIIIING!

The sound echoed, and he stepped out of the elevator, only to find a person by the railings.

It was her, Rosa.

She turned to look at him, her eyes trailing to the severed arms of his clothes and the scars on his hands.

"You got yourself hurt again?"
