CHAPTER 83: MASSIVE CHANGES

One moment, he was covered in thick dark veins, and in the next moment,

SIIIZZZLLLEEEE

He was sizzling as liquid began seeping out of the veins.

Over them, a tear had appeared, leading to the release of dark, corroding liquids.

These liquids burned away at Everlearn’s own skin, absorbing remnants of flesh off of him and revealing bones.

The bones were the only thing left unburned, though, only changed from a white color to pitch black.

But at the same time, the greater the darker liquid increased from his burnt flesh, the more they changed into something metallic, which came to replace the skin.

They were Nanoscales.

Nanoscales of pitch black, rippling, and changing form before taking the shape of a smooth, glass-like layer.

This continued all over Everlearn’s body, including even his face, which had its skin burned off, leaving it to remain only a skull that was also quickly covered up in those semi-solid Nano scales that solidified to form dark scales.

║10% INTEGRATION WITH MECHA DEVOURER MODULE HAS BEEN ACHIEVED!║

The system panel blinked out, though Everlearn remained unconscious.

In the next moment, the dark glass Nano that had become his new skin started to change.

They rippled like a Nano-layer, and then they shifted into skin.

White skin, just like the one Everlearn had before, but smoother, like one of higher quality.

The dark Nanolayers were hidden away by his new skin formation, that were almost as exact as Everlearn’s pld skin.

What followed was a blue glow rippling from where his heart ought to be.

║Integration with the Illumino Mech Module will Now Begin║

The blue glow from his heart began to change color.

It turned golden, and like squirming snakes, lines of gold quickly surged around Everlearn, and they gathered together in two places.

The first part was Everlearn’s mouth, crossing from one ear to the other and turning it fully golden.

The second place was his hands, both hands up until their wrists, also turning fully into a golden color.

The golden illumination continued, the sound of faint whirring beneath the skin echoing through the room, for about an hour before it died out.

The golden glow receded, same as the blue glow from his heart, and the golden panel blinked out a notification:

║INTEGRATION WITH ILLUMINO MODULE HAS BEEN ACHIEVED!║

FLICCCKKKKERRR

Blue rays of light mixed in with gold burst out through the room as a pair of eyes snapped open.

The powerful rays continued for a couple of seconds before calming down, and Everlearn slowly sat up.

He turned to his hands, clenching and unclenching.

He didn’t feel much more change, except that when he looked at his hands, the previous scars on his skin were gone, and his skin looked smoother.

Almost... artificial in a way.

He pinched it, and it was indeed flesh, but then, pushing in harder, it was like he was pressing against a wall.

’There’s something thick beneath,’ he noticed.

The system flashed.

║REWARDS OBTAINED!║

║Congratulations, Host Has Awakened 2 New Skills!║

The system flashed, taking Everlearn’s mind off the details.

But he looked away from that to look at his legs and noticed he no longer had the shorts on.

║They got burned off.║

The panel blinked before he formed any ideas, and he shrugged helplessly.

’That’s another cloth gone.’

’Thankfully, I got a dozen new ones.’

He mused to himself, rising to his feet, and that was when he saw it.

Beneath his skin were these strange dark goos that pressed at the back of his body like slime.

They were putrid in smell, making Everlearn’s nose wiggle in disgust.

’What the hell is this!?’

║Impurities.║

He scurried off to the bathroom, the sound of the shower going off, but in the next moment,

"WHO THE HELL IS THIS!?"

The scream of shock rang out through his entire dorm room, coming from none other than the bathroom, where Everlearn was currently pressed against the wall, seemingly ready to run but with nowhere to go.

Before him was a wall mirror, something he had bought with some points on his way and fixed in his bathroom.

Yet the person he saw in the mirror was anyone but him.

Everlearn previously had a face that men would have called endearing and women would have called cute.

Though his mind was like that of an adult, he was still only seventeen, and his face revealed that more than anything.

But now, all of those soft curves, those babyish cheeks, that roundness of his face that made him look endearingly harmless were gone!

In their place stood a visage sculpted with sharp, defined lines that definitely didn’t belong to a seventeen-year-old.

His jaw had hardened, cheekbones cutting higher.

His eyes, which were blue and a bit big, making them bubbly anytime they closed, had now turned smaller and narrower.

Though the same blue, they were colder, and Everlearn had a feeling he was about to rip himself into pieces the way the eyes were looking at him.

Another big change was his hair.

Previously, they were dark, not pitch black but brown-black, with blue staining their fringes, but now, they were an otherworldly hue.

A full cascade of luminous blue strands that shimmered faintly, as if charged with an unseen energy.

From black-blue, they had turned fully luminous blue.

He walked closer and brushed the hair, his fingers sliding into it and easily coming out the other side.

He gripped the edge of the mirror and tried to smile, but a smile didn’t reflect back at him.

Instead, he grinned!

"Wut?" Everlearn cried as he closed in with the mirror and smiled, but once more, the face grinned back.

"What the fuck!? Holy Shit! I can’t even smile anymore!?"

"The fuck did you do!?"

He screamed out to the system, which blinked.

║The fuck you be smiling for in this cold world? A grin is better!║

"Shut the fuck up!"

The system had changed him, wiping away every trace of his previous boyish innocence into the magnetic yet dangerous allure of a man.

Handsome... but the last thing from cute.

But those changes, compared to what he really was, were too minuscule, and he was about to find that out soon...
