Then, Donna stabbed another Tower Mage to death.

Tower Mages with no combat experience fared worse in such sudden clashes than veteran soldiers.

Just then, a hero rushing to rescue Anderson neared the covered walkway, only to have his head blown off by a bullet the instant he exposed himself.

The gunfire continued, and all defenders attempting to advance were cut down near the walkway.

Anderson dared not conserve his Magic Power any longer. Wings of condensed light unfurled from his back as he invoked Angel’s Descent.

Yan Xing also spread his wings.

The badly damaged covered walkway collapsed under the burst of magical energy. Anderson and Yan Xing hovered amidst the falling stones as Donna plunged her spear into the last Mage’s heart.

"Mission accomplished!"

"Retreat!"

Donna activated her Magic Armor’s flight mode, using the falling stones as footholds to change direction and accelerate, attacking Anderson from behind.

Yan Xing unleashed his Thunder Domain, blasting all nearby stones to pieces.

Shattered stones flew, and dust filled the air.

A whirlwind rose again, pressing down on nearby defenders, preventing them from lifting their heads.

Anderson turned to block Donna’s sneak attack, but when he looked again, Yan Xing had vanished.

The arrow tower housing the sniper also collapsed in an explosion.

The sky once more echoed with the sharp wails of the Deer Hunter Dive Bombers.

Anderson, still in his Angel’s Descent state, hovered in the air and roared, "After them! They must not leave Storm City alive!"

Just then, an officer riding a Griffon flew quickly from the northeast. Reaching Anderson’s side, he reported in an almost grieving tone, "My Lord... the Eternal Domain has launched an attack on our forces along the Outpost Fort line! Our main forces have been split and surrounded by the enemy. Riftfort has fallen. The enemy vanguard is advancing toward Storm City."

This intelligence report shocked Anderson so much he almost fell from the sky.
