CHAPTER 65: CHAPTER 65: SERENDIPITY (SEEKING VOTES AND FAVORITES)_1

Clan leaders from Werewolf Tribes across all regions gathered at the Red Mud Wetland. On the day the meeting was to be convened, they would depart from here together for the Eternal Domain.

Among these Werewolf Clan Leaders was Li Zhua, the leader of the Stenchwater Forest Werewolf Tribe.

Li Zhua had met Steel Fang, the messenger.

He now understood the Eternal Domain better than any other Werewolf Clan Leader, even more so than Duan’er. He had seen with his own eyes the steel studded armor Steel Fang wore and the steel chains. Of course, he had also tried firing the slingshot. And Steel Fang had told him that these were all obsolete weapons and equipment discarded by the Eternal Domain.

In the Eternal Domain, steel was everywhere. Houses weren’t built with wood; steel was used for the framework instead. Even the shovels the farmers used to dig the moat were forged from steel.

Even Steel Fang had a feeling... that to Lord Yan Xing, steel seemed as cheap as common stones, readily available. If Lord Yan Xing wished, he could construct a city of steel.

Furthermore, in the Eternal Domain’s warehouses, food was piled high as mountains. The domain’s kitchens supplied food non-stop. Domain members and laborers could go to the kitchen at any time to get food, no matter how late they worked.

Moreover, Lord Yan Xing had issued an astounding command throughout his lands: "Do not eat anything that has fallen on the ground. If it’s dirty, throw it into the chicken pen to feed the chickens. Eating spoiled food will affect work..."

This was not a requirement for his personal dining, but for everyone in his domain. Does it sound like something a normal person would say?

But Steel Fang had witnessed it himself: a farmer picked up a steamed bun that had fallen on the ground and took a bite. That farmer was then punished by being forbidden to eat for an entire day.

What Steel Fang saw and heard in the Eternal Domain greatly shocked Li Zhua. It was hard to imagine what kind of place the Eternal Domain was.It made Li Zhua feel as though this trip to the Eternal Domain was a pilgrimage.

When the day arrived, Li Zhua meticulously washed his fur with the soap Steel Fang had given him. Feeling an unprecedented sense of comfort, he joined the werewolf procession heading to the Eternal Domain, stepping out of the swamp and onto the prairie.

As the prairie wind blew, Li Zhua’s soft fur undulated with the airflow. The fluffy appearance made him look more powerful and imposing than the other Werewolf Clan Leaders. The fragrance that spread with the wind also drew the attention of the She-Werewolves in the group. It also attracted envious glances from the male werewolves.

This made Duan’er quite displeased. After all, the Stenchwater Forest Werewolf Tribe had been defeated by his Red Mud Wetland Werewolf Tribe, and he himself had captured Steel Fang. This conference in the Eternal Domain was supposed to be led by the Red Mud Wetland Werewolf Tribe; how could Li Zhua steal all the limelight!

However, Li Zhua’s fur truly was splendid, making him appear stronger. No wonder it nearly drove the She-Werewolves into heat.

Duan’er moved closer to Li Zhua and reached out to stroke his back. It was so smooth.

Duan’er asked, "Hey! What did you do to your fur? How is it so soft!" After speaking, Duan’er couldn’t resist stroking it again; the sensation was indeed pleasant.

Li Zhua resisted the urge to slap away Duan’er’s dirty hand, seeing an opportunity to resolve the conflict between their two tribes. The Stenchwater Forest tribe absolutely couldn’t continue its hostility towards the Red Mud Wetland tribe.

Li Zhua said, taking the bar of soap from his leather pouch, "It’s the soap Steel Fang gave me. Bathe with this, and your fur can be like mine."

"Is it really that miraculous?" Duan’er snatched the soap, sniffed it, and was about to bite into it.

Li Zhua immediately snatched the soap back. "You can’t eat this," he said. "This soap was a gift from Lord Yan Xing to Steel Fang, who then gave it to me. If you want one, you can ask Lord Yan Xing. He will definitely give it to you."

Hearing Lord Yan Xing mentioned, Duan’er unconsciously lifted his head.

"Of course! Lord Yan Xing is generous and kind. He told me that the Red Mud Wetland can ask him for anything it lacks. Look at the steel armor I’m wearing; it’s a reward from Lord Yan Xing!"

"Yes, Lord Yan Xing is generous and kind," Li Zhua said sincerely, looking enviously at Duan’er’s steel armor. He then continued, "Clan Leader Duan’er... I apologize for the offenses the Stenchwater Forest tribe committed against the Red Mud Wetland."

"The disputes between our tribes were all caused by food. Now, Lord Yan Xing can ensure our werewolf packs no longer worry about food. As neighbors, our two tribes should help each other and guard the wonderful life we are about to attain."

Duan’er was a very straightforward werewolf. Since Li Zhua had taken the initiative to apologize, Duan’er stroked Li Zhua’s smooth fur again and said, "Lord Yan Xing’s friends are my friends. As long as your pack doesn’t come to my Red Mud Wetland to steal, I’ll be a good neighbor to you."

Li Zhua looked at the slingshot on Duan’er’s waist and said, "Stenchwater Forest doesn’t have much aloeswood. But if Lord Yan Xing is willing to provide us with these slingshots, we can hunt enough prey to feed ourselves..."

Just as Li Zhua and Duan’er were setting aside their former grievances, a Werewolf Warrior responsible for scouting ahead came running back at full speed. He shouted as he ran, "Orc Malevolent Wolf Cavalry! We’ve spotted Orc Malevolent Wolf Cavalry..."

The entire werewolf contingent immediately halted, and all Werewolf Warriors formed a defensive circle. The Werewolf Clan Leaders stood inside the circle, casting defensive magic on their warriors while ordering all accompanying Poison Flies to take to the air.

The werewolves couldn’t understand why they would encounter the Orc Malevolent Wolf Cavalry here.Could the Orc Great Army be launching a large-scale offensive against the human territories?

While the werewolves were confused, a large number of Orc Malevolent Wolf Cavalry charged towards them from the distance. Among them were even some humans dressed as mercenaries. The werewolves were even more baffled.

The Malevolent Wolf Cavalry chasing the Werewolf Scout hadn’t expected to encounter such a large group of werewolves here either. How did these swamp creatures end up on the prairie?

A large contingent of Malevolent Wolf Cavalry arrived, forming a standoff with the werewolves. From their ranks emerged a Malevolent Wolf Cavalry hero mounted on a warg the size of a calf, accompanied by a human Knight, face hidden and body entirely wrapped in a cloth robe.

"I am Gustav of Stakes Castle!" the hero declared. "You werewolves should be in the Thunderous Swamp. What are you doing here?"

The werewolves were once part of the Orc Race but were later ostracized and joined the Swamp Tribe, becoming uncivilized barbarians. The orcs of the present day inherently felt superior to werewolves. Even though Gustav, a Big-eared monster, was significantly shorter than the werewolves, he still spoke with a haughty air. After all, the orc forces were much more powerful than those of the swamp.

The werewolves, unsure how many orc troops had arrived, remained on high alert. Duan’er was about to step forward to speak when Li Zhua pulled him back. Li Zhua then loudly addressed the Malevolent Wolf Cavalry hero, Gustav, "I am Li Zhua, Clan Leader of the Stenchwater Forest Werewolf Tribe, and this is Duan’er, Clan Leader of the Red Mud Wetland Werewolf Tribe. Our people are imprisoned in the human domain ahead. We are on our way to attack it and rescue them. What are you orcs doing here? And why are humans mixed in with you!"
