Chapter 585: Useful
Chapter 585: Useful
Every being that had been injured by the attacks from the vampire clones was instantly healed as Anthony streaked forward, countless yellow and blue sword flashes drowning the entire world in radiant light.
Then suddenly, Anthony paused, his feet grinding to a halt mid sprint.
And then it happened.
Across the Human Domain, the various clones exploded outward in a burst of blood, each shredded into fragments by Anthony’s katana. The Sense Dome and Infinity covering the entire Human Domain vanished immediately, as Anthony’s mana withdrew, receding as though it had never been there to begin with.
Anthony’s hand moved fluidly as he sheathed his katana in one graceful motion, his chest rising and falling in a steady rhythm, as though he hadn’t just covered millions of kilometers on foot at full speed in a matter of seconds.
Many stood frozen, stunned by what had transpired. They couldn’t comprehend what had just taken place. One moment they were under attack, the next, a surge of incomprehensible mana had flooded the world, followed by every threat being annihilated, erased in an instant, bursting into blood like overfilled balloons.
A soft smile played on Anthony’s lips. Had he ever moved at this speed before? Absolutely not.
In the span of mere seconds, he had covered millions of kilometers, killed thousands of widely dispersed vampire blood clones, healed countless injured people, and protected many others who had been on the verge of death. All of this had occurred within the mental calculations of his Sense Dome and Infinity.
Anthony was beginning to love the new form of Sense Dome and Infinity, especially when used together, layering one on top of the other.
He could already sense someone approaching him at tremendous speed.
But Anthony had no time for conversation. He simply vanished from his spot, his lips parting once more.
[Time Magic: Mana Zone: Retroactive Mend]
Mana erupted from Anthony’s core yet again as a vast zone of energy bloomed into reality. From within this zone, shattered buildings, damaged goods, wrecked roads, and destroyed infrastructure reversed in time, returning to their intact forms just as they had been before the carnage began.
Anthony hadn’t needed to use Sense Dome to pinpoint each building this time. He had already passed them a few moments earlier, and with his eidetic memory, he recalled them all and restored them with unerring precision.
Anthony reappeared high in the sky. His mind was already calculating at full speed. There was no way the vampire had orchestrated all of this after his supposed suicide. All of the vampire’s movements had been within Anthony’s Sense Dome and mental calculations.
This could only mean one thing: the vampire had prearranged everything. He had intended to eliminate Anthony and his team, then slaughter humans across the Human Domain before or after making his exit.
The military had always preached equality, peace, and unity, but now, a high ranking soldier from that very institution, a Warlord, had perpetrated this atrocity.
Anthony wasn’t angry. His emotions remained calm. Though the vampire had escaped, it didn’t matter, Anthony had allowed him to flee while he dealt with the clones.
With a thought, Authority of Severance activated once more. Reality flipped across Anthony’s perception. Threads erupted in every direction, woven through trees, stones, clouds, until the world itself appeared to be composed of thread.
With a single thought, Anthony could end all life on the Blue Planet if he so desired. But this time, he focused on himself.
There, a particular thread, one linking him to the Warlord vampire who had escaped. With a simple mental command, the thread snapped cleanly in half, and instantly vanished from reality. Anthony’s vision returned to normal as the threads disappeared into the void from whence they came.
And in that precise moment, the Warlord vampire reappeared before Anthony.
There was no spatial fluctuation, no ripple, no portal, and no dimensional twist. Just a deep, irreversible rewrite in the laws of reality.
The Vampire’s eyes widened in shock as he registered the change in environment, his blood-red gaze locking with Anthony’s serene, gem-like blue eyes.
“Originally, I only wanted to take things slowly, to enjoy testing my newly unlocked abilities. But it seems that time is over,” Anthony said, his tone calm and absolute.
The vampire’s eyes darted toward the Human Domain.
There was no destruction.
No screaming.
No death.
Nothing.
All he felt was a sudden disconnection, from his clones, from his plan, from control.
He had only just escaped mere seconds ago, and yet, this human, this supposedly weak soldier he had been ordered to kill, had already erased all of his clones as if they were ants.
The vampire tried to move, but his body was frozen in place. He wasn’t surprised, Anthony had used this ability on him before. But this time, something was different. His instincts were screaming death. He tried to open his mouth to speak, but couldn’t. His vocal cords and tongue were immobilized.
Anthony raised his hand, slowly reaching toward the vampire’s head. Fear radiated from the vampire in waves, but Anthony did not pause.
As his hand neared the vampire’s skull, the vampire screamed through telepathy.
‘Wait! I’ll tell you everything! Just don’t kill me!’ he cried out desperately in his mind.
Anthony replied coldly, “I don’t need your confessions.”
His hand landed on the vampire’s head.
Anthony’s All-Seeing Eyes began to glow gently as he rifled through every single memory the vampire’s mind contained.
He discovered that the plan to massacre humans had been orchestrated solely by the vampire himself. It had not been sanctioned by the Second Supreme Monarch.
But that revelation didn’t concern Anthony. He had gained something far more important, something far more useful.
A smile spread across his face. He had found a way to strike back at the Second Supreme Monarch, something that would make the man lose his mind in rage.
“It seems you’re more useful alive,” Anthony said, grinning widely. Then, three seconds passed, and the restrictions binding the vampire were lifted completely.
The vampire’s eyes narrowed. He didn’t know what Anthony was planning, but whatever it was, he had no power to resist it.
Before he could even react, Anthony activated his Poison Body skill. A rush of highly potent toxins flooded into the vampire’s blood, corrupting every cell and tissue. The poison would rot him from the inside out, slowly and painfully.
Instantly, the vampire’s body went rigid. He collapsed face-first to the ground, his consciousness slipping away as the venom took full effect.
“You don’t have to be awake to be useful,” Anthony said, waving his hand.
The vampire’s unconscious body shimmered once, and vanished into the Mirror Dimension.
