Chapter 588: Decided

After that, everyone’s thoughts shifted back to the Second Supreme Monarch. The Second Supreme Monarch clearly had it out for Anthony, he had dispatched a Warlord with the explicit intention of killing him, not only to eliminate Anthony but also to cover up the entire matter by silencing any trace of it.

If it had been anyone else, they would have left the team without hesitation. After all, no sane person would willingly choose to stand against the Second Supreme Monarch or remain on the bad side of someone that powerful, for any reason.

But Anthony was different.

First of all, he had three Supreme Monarchs in his family, his parents and grandfather. He himself was absurdly powerful, with a level of strength that defied common sense. He had helped them survive trials that should have killed them.

He had even brought Seraphim back to life after she died in the Black Hollow Zone, an act no one among them would have dared to do, much less succeeded in doing, without paying an unimaginable price.

And yet, he had done all of this for free.

However, the implications of that reality were now weighing heavily on them. At any moment, the simple act of breathing could be their last. Their lives would never again be peaceful. They would have to sleep with one eye open and live in a state of constant vigilance.

Their minds drifted to the Human Domain. They had witnessed the Vampire’s clones attacking cities across the region. The clones didn’t target the powerful. Instead, they went after civilians, those in the Mortal to Paragon mana rank, exposing the ruthlessness of the Second Supreme Monarch.

The goal wasn’t just to kill; it was to send a message, instill fear, and strike where it would hurt the most.

And then there were their families, those vulnerable, precious ties that made them whole. All of them resided in military bases and were rarely on the Blue Planet itself. Who would protect their families if the Second Supreme Monarch chose to attack?

Perhaps Anthony’s parents?

But could they really ask a Supreme Monarch to stand against another?

Dale had his wives and children. Reynold, while unmarried, had lovers, people he cherished, each of whom had families of their own.

Kingsley and Seraphim had no blood ties remaining. Spectre and Clement didn’t have families either, but they supported orphanages back home, sending money when they could, even now.

Vega had only her father… and Veronica.

Amid all this, Anthony simply sat in silence, saying nothing. He understood what was going through their minds. They were weighing their options. He didn’t complain. He didn’t try to persuade them. He knew, deep down, that if the situation were reversed, if his family was in danger, he would choose them without a second thought.

Yet not everyone in the room appeared to be burdened by such contemplation.

Kingsley sat with his usual composure, unfazed and undisturbed, as though the existence of the Second Supreme Monarch was of no relevance to him. It was almost as if he didn’t acknowledge the man’s ability to touch him at all.

Vega lounged with a bored expression, scrolling through her phone and barely paying attention. She had never placed much attention in the power of the Supreme Monarchs. Her father had always dismissed them as nothing more than glorified weaklings.

Seraphim sat quietly, wearing a smile that held no fear. She had no family members to worry about. She could have left and saved herself, but she didn’t.

Deep in her heart, she knew she owed her life to Anthony. Without him, her body would have been buried in some anonymous grave on a military base, just one more name among the thousands who died in battle each day.

Spectre and Clement remained unbothered as well, their expressions unreadable. They had no true attachments that could be used against them.

In the end, only Dale and Reynold were still hesitating, because they were the ones with the most to lose. Another attack could be launched at any moment. Nothing was guaranteed anymore.

After a few minutes of quiet reflection, Dale and Reynold turned toward each other. Their red eyes met and locked for a moment. Then, both turned toward Anthony, their gazes meeting his gem-like, crystal blue eyes, and they nodded.

Anthony returned their nod with a soft smile. No words were spoken. No grand speeches were needed. There was only silent acknowledgment, an unspoken commitment that would endure even if it meant their deaths.

For them, this was a monumental decision. But for Anthony, it was nothing. And he enjoyed the misunderstanding.

With a simple thought, his shadow soldiers stirred beneath his feet, slipping into the shadows of each team member undetected, ready to defend them if necessary.

Though Anthony could handle the Second Supreme Monarch, he was still engaged in battles with the Demon Monarchs. Until those conflicts were resolved, he would wait. In the meantime, his shadow soldiers would protect the team from any threats that emerged.

Anthony also sent Beru and Bellion to Vega, just in case. Although he suspected that the robot she had been sparring with earlier was secretly a guardian assigned by her father without her knowledge, it wouldn’t hurt to add more protection. Two extra guards could only increase her safety.

Whether Vega could face a Warlord on her own was uncertain. Though Anthony was tempted to use his Authority Of Information on her, he restrained himself. He preferred to see her capabilities firsthand, at the right moment, with his own eyes.

With that, the team rose and left, Vega included. She stood, tucked her phone away, and followed the rest, seemingly giving Anthony the space to think.

But Anthony didn’t need time to plan. His course of action was already set.

The Second Supreme Monarch was a man of excessive stamina and unmatched fertility. He had produced countless children, children who in turn had created more children, and so on.

What shocked Anthony the most was the realization that all of the Second Supreme Monarch’s descendants resided on a single planet.

An entire planet. Populated solely by his bloodline.

How many hours of nightly indulgence had that taken?

This information came directly from the Warlord Vampire’s memories.

Anthony’s conclusion was simple: since the Second Supreme Monarch had dared to strike against him, he would retaliate in full force.

Anthony was not the kind of man to take an offense lying down. He had chosen to ignore the First Supreme Monarch after the sneak attack that nearly cost him a few injuries, an attack from which his mother had to intervene and save him.

But now, after the Second Supreme Monarch had sent one of his children to kill him, Anthony had made up his mind.

His plan was straightforward. He would use Authority Of Severance to sever the distance between himself and the vampire-inhabited planet, using the poisoned Warlord as the link to bridge the gap.

Once there, he would annihilate every single being on that planet. Every lifeform carrying the bloodline of the Second Supreme Monarch, no matter how diluted, would be exterminated.

Even if some descendants were scattered across the galaxy, Anthony would use those on the planet as anchors to summon the rest through his Authority Of Severance.

His eyes gleamed with chilling intent as a murderous gleam flickered in his gaze.

It was decided.

Genocide would be the answer.
