CHAPTER 56: CHAPTER 0056: REFINING WEIGHT LOSS PILLS_1
Since Zhang Bin was unable to significantly increase the production of Bright Eye Liquid, he could only watch helplessly as Liu Ruolan and Liu Ruomei carried their luggage from the car and took over the room that was originally his. As for Zhang Bin, he had to move into his sister Zhang Lele’s room.
Mother Zhang and Father Zhang were, of course, overjoyed. Having such honored guests stay at their home was an honor for the Zhang family.
However, Zhang Bin was quite frustrated. A peerless beauty was right before his eyes, deliberately tantalizing him and setting him on fire with desire, yet he could only look and not touch. Moreover, Xiao Fang had become very tense, as if she had misunderstood the situation. Even with Liu Xin, he couldn’t find any opportunities anymore, because Liu Ruolan and Liu Ruomei followed him everywhere like shadows.
After just three days, Zhang Bin surrendered. He had been thoroughly subdued by Liu Ruolan and Liu Ruomei. Yes, for three days, they had skipped work to stay at his home. Day and night, they watched him closely, giving him no chance for any romantic escapades. He even had to hide in the bathroom just to call Gao Si.
"Sister Lan, even if you stayed here for the rest of your life, I wouldn’t be able to increase the production of Bright Eye Liquid. Refining such a miraculous medicine is incredibly difficult."
That night, Zhang Bin had no choice but to lay all his cards on the table with the two sisters.
"If you want me to believe you, let me see how you refine the Bright Eye Liquid," Liu Ruolan said coolly.
"How could he dare let us watch? He’s afraid we’ll learn his secret technique," Liu Ruomei jeered from the side.
"Not letting you know how Bright Eye Liquid is refined is for your own good. Otherwise, countless corporate spies would start targeting you," Zhang Bin said righteously. "If I could increase production, I would have already. Do you really think I don’t know how to make money when the opportunity is there?"
"Anyone can tell that’s just an excuse," Liu Ruomei said with contempt. "So high-and-mighty, so hypocritical."
"Ugh..." Zhang Bin’s head throbbed. Liu Ruolan might have been manageable, but Liu Ruomei’s deep-seated suspicion made her incredibly difficult to handle. So, with a glint in his eye, he said, "I can’t do anything about the Bright Eye Liquid, but I can whip up another equally magical medicine right now."
"Are you talking about the Weight Loss Pills?" Liu Ruolan’s eyes lit up.
"Yes," Zhang Bin nodded.
"Then hurry up and bring them out!" Liu Ruomei urged impatiently.
So, Zhang Bin immediately went to Mantou Ridge and picked more than a dozen different herbs. In truth, they weren’t mature enough, having only been cultivated with Spiritual Water for about ten days. They were unsuitable for refining proper Elixirs, but they would just barely suffice for making Weight Loss Pills.
Back home, under the scorching gazes of the two beauties, Zhang Bin began refining the Elixir in the kitchen. The Pill Furnace was nearly a meter tall and so thick it would take two arms to encircle it. Using liquefied gas as fuel, it roared with intense flames. Zhang Bin had spent the last few days carefully studying how to refine Elixirs, so he looked quite professional and proficient as he worked. He methodically added the herbs one by one, poured in some Spiritual Water, and slowly began the refining process.
A strange, soothing Fragrance filled the air.
About half an hour later, the batch of Elixir was successfully refined. Zhang Bin turned off the heat, lifted the Pill Furnace down, opened the lid, and stared wide-eyed at its contents. Inside was a semi-solid paste. The herbs had completely melted, and their dregs had been incinerated by the high temperature and expelled through a waste outlet. Zhang Bin poured the paste into a large porcelain bowl, from which steam immediately billowed, carrying a rich, enticing aroma.
"This is the weight loss medicine?" Liu Ruolan asked curiously.
"Let’s see how effective it is," Zhang Bin said. He picked up a tiny amount with his Divine Chopsticks and swallowed it.
The moment the paste entered his stomach, it transformed into a strange, warm current that flowed into his bloodstream and spread throughout his body. Then, a faint wisp of True Qi emerged, almost unnoticeable without careful sensing.
"It worked! I successfully refined it!" A look of sheer joy appeared on Zhang Bin’s face. Although the herbs weren’t fully mature, they could still generate True Qi, which was highly beneficial for his Cultivation.
Joy also dawned on Liu Ruolan’s face, mixed with eager anticipation.
"I don’t see any obvious changes," Liu Ruomei, however, remained unimpressed.
"Now we need to find someone to test it on. Let’s see what the weight-loss effect is," Zhang Bin said, walking outside with the bowl. He stood at the door, looking around for a suitable target.
The Little Fox, of course, knew exactly what that concoction was. She had already vanished without a trace, terrified of becoming Zhang Bin’s test subject. As a fox who cared a great deal about her appearance, she had no desire to be turned into a skeleton-like creature. She couldn’t bear the thought, even if the medicine might be good for her.
"Let me try some. I feel like I’ve gained about a pound," Liu Ruolan said eagerly.
"Sister Lan, another pound on you would be too much, and a pound less would be too little. You absolutely must not take the weight loss medicine I’ve made," Zhang Bin said, gazing at her with infatuation.
A beautiful smile bloomed on Liu Ruolan’s face, and her gaze toward Zhang Bin softened with a hint of affection.
What a scoundrel. He really knows how to sweet-talk women. That’s exactly how he tricked Bingbing. After getting her into bed, he completely ignored her. He hasn’t visited her even once in the past ten-plus days, Liu Ruomei fumed internally. I have to watch my sister closely and not let him take any advantage of her.
"Big Fatty, Second Fatty, come here!" Zhang Bin’s gaze eventually landed on the two dogs.
Big Fatty and Second Fatty were playing with a meatless pork bone. Hearing his call, they bounded over, wagging their tails furiously.
"They’re so small. How can you bear to use them for an experiment? It would be tragic if they turned into skeletons," Liu Ruolan said, her heart overflowing with compassion. She couldn’t stand seeing the two chubby, adorable puppies become the first test subjects.
To her utter astonishment, Big Fatty and Second Fatty seemed to understand her words. They suddenly turned tail and bolted, disappearing in the blink of an eye.
"Have those two dogs become spirits?" Liu Ruolan stared, dumbfounded.
"Could it be that all your pets are Monsters?" Liu Ruomei asked in surprise, looking at Zhang Bin as if he were one himself.
"Xiao Qian is indeed a Fairy who has lived for five hundred years. Big Fatty and Second Fatty are just little mutts, but under my training, they’ve become smart enough to understand human speech," Zhang Bin said proudly.
"As if anyone would believe that." Liu Ruolan and Liu Ruomei rolled their eyes at him in perfect sync.
Women really don’t believe the truth. They only believe lies, Zhang Bin muttered to himself. He continued his search for a test subject, his gaze gradually shifting to Liu Ruomei’s face. A wicked grin spread across his lips. "Sister Mei, it’s you. You’re the perfect test subject."
"Me? Am I fat?" Liu Ruomei asked, stunned, looking at Zhang Bin as if he were a complete idiot.
But Zhang Bin quickly rolled a walnut-sized pill from the paste and said in a tempting tone, "Sister Mei, you’ve reached the Middle Qi Refining Stage, but you’re having trouble accumulating enough True Qi to break through to the Late Qi Refining Stage. If you take one of these pills, you might be able to advance."
Today, he had decided to use his skills to deal with this third wheel, Liu Ruomei; it wasn’t out of the kindness of his heart to help improve her Cultivation Level.
"Isn’t this a weight-loss medicine? How did it become a cultivation Elixir?" Liu Ruomei’s heart pounded in her chest, but her face was a mask of suspicion.
