Miss Witch Doesn't Want to be a Diva
Chapter 1469 10: Clumsy Fluttering Under the Shade of the Trees (3)
"Amazing, sitting in this machine is just like piloting a large siege mecha!" She had grown fond of this machine now.
Ever since the Federation took over here, in order for the inhabitants of this planet to be self-sufficient and solve many living issues, they taught part of their technology to the various species on the planet and directly gifted them some machinery that matched that technological level.
The technology now mastered on this planet is roughly equivalent to the post-industrial era at the end of the Third Era. It certainly can't compare to the peak of the Fifth Epoch, but for many settlements still in primitive society, this was already star-level technology, an industrial system that the Slami Association had not fully developed before.
Standing on a tall agricultural machine, the two sat beside Sura, watching her skillfully operate this large piece of farm equipment, piling up wheat stalks and then separating the harvested grains based on their fullness.
"The efficiency of this machine is stronger than a hundred people in the past." Sura excitedly told Tilan, with no sense of nostalgia for the nearly two-year separation.
Seeing her so engrossed, Tilan knew that continuing the conversation might delay the joy of this new operator, so she took Ores and temporarily said goodbye to see how others were doing.
The former mountain pass settlement had now become a big city, with many houses and buildings standing, its area roughly three times larger than when Tilan had left.
"It's getting bigger here too." The two floated in the air, concealing their forms to avoid disturbing the residents below.
Walking through the streets, Tilan saw Guy working at the tax office, wearing a black uniform, one hand holding a plan, explaining new quarterly goals to a group of members below.
A new middle school had been added to the city, and the principal was the 'Gray Feather Scholar'; however, he was still a bit lazy, as the usual teaching tasks were handled by the Grey Feather Species under him, with him only appearing when tricky situations arose.
The bookstore previously operated by Celestia had reopened, but the owner was a purple-haired woman, with a butterfly symbol on the signboard. Occasionally, some friends with beautiful fluttering butterfly wings gathered in the store to discuss novel events happening across the continent, turning these into a current affairs magazine, which intrigued many residents.
'Sage' Lindsay returned to the northern tundra, reportedly inviting artisans from the Fede Alliance to build a massive library among the snow-capped mountains, recording and recounting numerous true histories from the Fifth Epoch to the present, as a reminder and warning to future generations not to repeat past mistakes.
Old Moose was now the City Lord of this city. Although he was not proficient in administration, with a group of former Heshan Rescue Association members assisting, managing the city was not difficult.
After Tilan left, the 'Chasing Star Covenant' did not dissolve but instead expanded far and wide, from the northern mountains to the southern seaports, from the far west of the grasslands to the eastern wastelands, marking out posts on a giant map.
Flan led the Slami Association remnants on a great ship, returning to the scorched South Continent, there to rebuild and restore local vitality. This move attracted some adventurous explorers, forming scattered fleets to navigate the oceans between the two continents, engaging in trade.
After ending the catastrophe on this planet, past settlements and species that had been hiding began to slowly appear in the eyes of ordinary people, bringing new cultures and traditions. Each species' unique ability also sparked residents' thoughts on how to utilize them.
Amid the forests between the mountains, a lively and warm post was nestled there, with domed houses of various sizes built under tall trees, resembling mushrooms sheltered beneath the canopy. Many small creatures with snow-white moth wings on their backs lived at this post. Although their stature was generally short and their wings could not take them high even when fully spread, they didn't mind this, finding joy in clumsily gliding among the trees.
"Temeluna, go for it~"
A few Silkworm Moth Species in cotton dresses shouted under the trees, cheering for their timid companion in the trees.
"Try jumping, even if you can't glide, we'll catch you." Ye Yina with her long braids comforted the other.
On the tree bough, a Silkworm Moth Species named Temeluna clung to the rough bark, occasionally spreading the wings on her back. She looked down several times but still hesitated to jump.
"Remember, when Lord Hexia took us to the sky." Another Silkworm Moth Species below coaxed and comforted.
"You said the view from up there was really magnificent and beautiful."
"So, to see that scenery again, try hard!" This finally moved the Silkworm Moth Lady in the tree.
Not just for herself, she thought about not letting down Lord Hexia's expectations.
As a Silkworm Moth Species, if it were just for herself, she might be extra timid and scared, but if someone tells them to do something, a huge sense of mission would arise in them that propels them to complete the task, this silly character could be quite exploitable.
Despite having various shortcomings, the Silkworm Moth Species on the tree slowly let go, working hard to balance and leapt from the branch.
The snow-white moth wings opened with all their might in the breeze, endeavoring to sense the direction of the wind and airflow.
One meter
Three meters
Five meters
Flapping desperately in the air, the moth wings carried the small body through the streaks of light between the treetops until, finally out of strength, she fell.
Her companions below ran with her, and just as she was about to hit the ground, five Silkworm Moth Species jumped and spread their wings, catching her falling body, and then all six tumbled into the grass.
A bit painful, but not as scary as she imagined, Temeluna stood up with everyone's help.
Laughter soon echoed through the woods, as the Silkworm Moth Species joyfully held hands, spinning around in circles on the ground, oblivious to their grass-stained dresses.
"See, I said Temeluna could do it."
"Why not celebrate tonight? We still have many carrots from our last exchange at the camp."
"I have some reserve jerky at home. After we divided it last time, I haven't finished it. We can bring it out and make soup together this time."
"Ye Yina and I will pick fruit. The fruit trees that Cat Tail Sisters transplanted for us last year have produced orange little fruits this year."
"I'll gather firewood, don't hog all the tasks to yourselves." Said one of the somewhat anxious Silkworm Moth Ladies.
"Alright, let's start taking action~" The six Silkworm Moth Species happily decided and then turned to busy themselves at the post.
These kids...
Tilan and Ores hovered above the treetops, watching the little ones happily bustling around below.
Without the innate ability to soar in the sky like the Silver Wings, each awkward attempt to glide brought them immense joy, and any task entrusted to them was met with genuine pride and happiness.
Tilan closed her eyes tightly, not wanting the warm tears at the corners to trickle down.
What a bunch of silly little ones they are.
.
.
Just like when I was a child.
