Chapter 1318: Setting the Foundation

    ?

"I don''t see why that would be a problem." Valyr shrugged as he nodded at the question. "Is it someone we know?"

"In a way?" Thomas let out a slight chuckle. "Well, she did join us for a few games back then when we were missing a couple of members for raids."

"Really now?" Hearing those words, the gears in Valyr''s mind began to turn. "Can''t seem to remember her."@@@@

"I don''t blame you," replied Thomas. "After all, the last time she joined us was over three years ago. She just came back to the game scene again after hearing how generous Greater Beyond was in its payouts."

"I''m guessing she heard it from you, then?" asked the young man in return, giving at his friend a faint knowing smile.

"I can''t say I didn''t tell her about our antics." Thomas let out a bit of laughter in response. "But yeah. Her''s name Alisa Mitchell. Perhaps that might ring a couple of bells?"

"Alisa Mitchell...?" murmured Valyr in a slightly questioning tone, only for him to blank out as a great number of thoughts surfaced in his mind soon after.

Although he only felt like he''d heard the name somewhere the first time Thomas mentioned it to him, by the time various thoughts came rushing into Valyr''s mind, the young man was quickly reminded of who she was.

Of course, that also included what she achieved before the final battle in his past life.

''Who knew the future leader of Setting Sun and the future deputy leader of Blossom Blades would actually know each other this early on?''

Although Valyr only knew that Alisa was the deputy leader of Blossom Blades firsthand, the conversations he had with his friends back then allowed his knowledge of her to extend beyond that.

Recalling these conversations one by one, the young man was able to remember that Alisa was considered the best player in Blossom Blades, boasting a near-unstoppable offense and a near-impenetrable defense through the use of her rapier.

Adding on the fact that she seemed to know everything that was going on in the battlefield while fighting, she was also designated as the first commander of their guild, allowing their reputation to easily match White Fortress in a matter of months.

But because Blossom Blades did not limit the amount of members they accepted like the other guild, the guild was eventually able to match the Five Leviathans in terms of reputation, with only the Setting Sun and a dozen others being able to do the same thing.

If Valyr were to limit himself to only what he knew about Alisa during the final battle, then that was the fact that she was the last to give up in the face of defeat, making use of everything in her arsenal even if it was for the sake of an opportunity to turn things around to their favor.

With her also being designated as one of the head commanders of Earth''s side during the final battle, it went without saying that Valyr now wanted nothing more than to have Alisa in his guild early on.

Faintly nodding at the plan he came up with, Valyr shifted his attention back to Thomas before telling his friend that the Reinforcement Elixirs he gave them weren''t the same as the ones on the forums.

Briefly discussing the differences between the elixirs on the forums and the elixirs they gave them, the young man then asked Thomas to keep the information a secret for the meantime, especially since it gave them an edge over the other players.

Of course, doing something like that went against his earlier thought of sharing such information for the sake of the greater good.

But surely he could at least prioritize his friends before doing that, right?

With the man making a promise to keep his lips sealed and mouth shut in regards to the information, the two then proceeded to watch Meria and Lucques finish their final vial in silence, only to then watch the duo''s reactions towards the elixir''s effects a few minutes later.

Having already experienced the reaction Thomas gave him after he was done consuming all of the Reinforcement Elixirs, the young man merely gave the two a faint smile as he told that he already knew of the elixirs'' side effects, which prompted the two to briefly complain at him in

    return.

Nevertheless, the two were still thankful for everything the young man had given them, which meant that the two gave them the same amount Thomas did as payment for all of the items

    Valyr procured.

With the three having greatly improved in strength and him ending up 6 gold coins richer than before, the four eventually decided to head back to the village first to further prepare themselves for their first run of the Cave of Beginnings.

After all, who wouldn''t be curious as to how much they''ve grown after undergoing what felt

    like a massive upgrade?

Seeing that the four of them each had classes that made up the typical party, Valyr took the opportunity to give Thomas the skill he''d gotten from beating the super-boss back at when he tried the dungeon''s Easy difficulty.

Unsurprisingly, his friend accepted [Channeled Taunt] with open arms, telling Valyr that the skill would synergize greatly with the play style he had in mind.

It was only after that did the four return to the village, with the three immediately making their way to the village''s skill pavilion to get all the skills that formed the foundation of the classes they planned on playing.

With Valyr''s help, the three of them were able to pick out all of the core skills they needed in a matter of minutes, as well as the skills they felt that would synergize even further with the

play styles they had in mind.

After taking a bit of time to absorb all of the skills they bought from the skill pavilion, the four then headed straight to the Cave of Beginnings, only to then choose the dungeon''s Medium difficulty without hesitation.
