Chapter 486: Intense Mana Flow.
CHAPTER 486: INTENSE MANA FLOW.
He didn’t have the presence of mind to enjoy the concentration of mana in the environment when those avatars were staring at him.
Besides, even if he was still willing to enjoy the scenery, the presence of the avatars had actually quelled the activity of mana around them, so there was no wind.
But now that he was a free man and didn’t have to entertain the thought of being locked away in a dark temple somewhere underground, he could appreciate the little things and the beauty of the world.
Elder Storm Hawk was currently beside him and so was Roar. She had been waiting for him for registration, and he had been sent directly to her by the avatar of the Sword Flash Patriarch.
The two of them are currently in front of the personnel hall. Elder Storm Hawk was in a hurry. She urged him, "Stop breathing the air so greedily like some country bumpkin who has never encountered high concentrations of mana before. Let’s go."
He asked her, "What’s the hurry? You should learn to enjoy life more since you don’t know which day could be your last."
She looked at him as if he were insane before replying. "We have to worry because we have a lot to do and because I want to be finally free of dealing with you."
He eyed her with a look that showed he didn’t believe her before saying, "You’re just sore that I collected my share of the fishing game with you."
She denied his claim immediately. "First of all, I am not sure about the loss of 400,000 low-grade energy stones. That was your rightful money, and I can earn more than that at the drop of a hat."
"Secondly, we really have a lot to do. You have to create a soul lamp for yourself, identify yourself with a Daoist name, swear more oaths of secrecy and allegiance, and receive some benefits for being an inner sect disciple."
"And thirdly, why is your mana flow so intense? You are just at the first transformation of the third mortal coil with two life seeds. But your mana flow makes you seem like you are at the sixth transformation and have at least 64 life seeds."
She asked with confusion and intense curiosity, "Seriously, what is up with that?"
But he didn’t reply to make things clear to her. Instead, he smirked at her in amusement and said, "Do you remember the last time you gave me a look like this?"
She had given him this look when he asked her if she knew that the patriarchs were looking for him. That was a few minutes ago, so she remembers clearly.
She understood that his reply meant he wasn’t going to explain anything to her. So she snorted and said, "Let’s get this over with."
Then she left him behind and flew into the personnel hall.
He called out after her. "This is just the beginning. Prepare yourself for more of my vengeance."
Actually, she had a good reason to be confused at the rate at which mana went in and out of his body. The flow of mana was truly abnormal.
Of course, there was a perfectly good explanation for why the flow of mana around him was way higher than it should be. In summary, the abnormally high rate of mana activity in and out of him is due to the abnormal quality of his life seed and the boost from the Mountain Karma divine ability.
His life seed was constructed with an artificial foundation forged from a top-grade rank 3 armament, not some low-grade rank 3 armament.
This meant that his life seed is able to absorb and process mana at a speed that is at least four times the speed of other life seeds.
If this was just it, Storm Hawk wouldn’t be so confused. She would have assumed that the quality of his life seed was higher than normal.
But that wasn’t the end of it. The boost from the Mountain Karma divine ability also enhanced the power and quality of his life seed by 5 times.
So the difference between the rate of mana processing between his life seeds and those of others was at least 40 times.
Since he had two life seeds and each of them behaved like 40 life seeds, his total mana flow looked to an observer like he had 80 life seeds. This is clearly abnormal for someone who just advanced to the third mortal coil.
What made the matter even more confusing was that Storm Hawk could tell that he only had two life seeds within him. She could tell this by observing the quantity of mana within him.
So she was sure that he had two life seeds, yet what she was seeing about his flow of mana was telling her otherwise. It was very disconcerting.
Of course, he wasn’t going to tell her why what she observed about his mana flow was the way it was. But her question alerted him to what would happen if he showed off his cultivation speed to others.
He decided to stop breathing in mana so as not to draw suspicion to himself. He was being cautious and humble on the outside, but inwardly, he was being proud of himself.
He was proud of himself because of the quality of the life seed he had forged. This quality would bring him tangible benefits, mainly in the speed at which he would be able to complete the third mortal coil and reach its peak.
Normally, the time it takes to complete one transformation of the third mortal coil is equal to the time it took the person to complete the second mortal coil divided by the boost from the quality of their foundation.
Each transformation of the third mortal coil is essentially the first to tenth transformation of the second mortal coil. But there will be a shortening of the time because the life seed has been upgraded in terms of potential.
