CHAPTER 588: AMATEUR SMUGGLER.

To be exact, he was detected for trying to smuggle four golden core cultivators into the territory of the Purple Flower sect.

This alarmed the higher-ups of the sect. Even their patriarch was informed and became wary of an attack because of the incident.

Arthur was quickly surrounded by the only three golden core elders present in the sect at this time. The avatar of their nascent soul patriarch also appeared to monitor the situation.

Arthur explained to them that he wasn’t trying to smuggle people into their sect secretly. He showed them his weapons and explained that his weapons were living beings despite having golden cores within them.

He even swore an oath to the Ethera tree to prove that he wasn’t lying or trying to orchestrate a scheme. Only this was enough to convince them to let him enter their sect.

After his explanation, the tension that had risen slowly calmed down. But the situation became a little tense when the strongest golden core elder of the sect had asked to examine Arthur’s weapons to see how they work.

Arthur refused to let his weapon be inspected. He said that they were weapons containing important secrets of the Blood Skull sect, and he was unwilling to let the secrets be exposed.

His rejection caused a tense standoff to occur between him and the golden core elders of the Purple Flower sect. The golden core elders refused to let him go until he allowed them to inspect his weapons to ensure that they were truly safe.

This standoff was only disengaged when the patriarch said that he didn’t need to surrender his weapons for inspection and could enter the territory of their sect.

Arthur bowed to the avatar and left with Pale Shadow. This left two golden core elders behind with the avatar. The three of them stood in the air just outside their formations.

There are five golden core elders and one nascent soul elder in the Purple Flower sect. Two of their golden core elders have gone to the Blood Skull sect for the exchange program. These two that left have intermediate strength among the five of them.

Of the three golden core elders present at the sect, Arthur had already interacted with two of them to some extent. They are Pale Shadow and Green Viper.

These two are the weakest of the five golden core elders. Their patriarch decided that they should stay back in the sect so that they wouldn’t embarrass the sect too much with their weak strength if they were to go to the Blood Skull sect.

The third golden core elder was the strongest one of the five. Despite being strong, the patriarch didn’t let her go to the Blood Skull sect for her safety.

This third golden core elder is called Daoist Purple Vine. She is the one with the best chances of advancing to the fifth mortal coil and replacing the patriarch, so she couldn’t be allowed to risk her life in any way.

It was Purple Vine that requested for Arthur to drop his weapons for inspection. Now that Arthur was allowed to go without doing what she asked, she was displeased.

She didn’t show her displeasure to the patriarch. She didn’t have the gall to openly disagree with the decision of the strongest person in the sect, so she didn’t do that.

But she had the confidence to ask the Patriarch for an explanation. Of course, she did so meekly and took the position of an ignorant person when asking for the explanation.

She bowed to the avatar of the patriarch and said, "Patriarch, those weapons are special. I have seen something like them before, but those were dead cores without the potential to grow."

"Those weapons are alive, which is why I asked him to let us inspect them. If we could gain the technology used to make living weapons, our strength would improve significantly."

The avatar of the patriarch was in the form of a humanoid being made of green vines. There were also red, white, and purple flowers on the vines. This made the avatar look enchanting and beautiful.

Even when the avatar spoke, the voice that came out of it was that of a mellow beauty. Of course, this voice was mental and not physical, so it couldn’t be heard with ears.

The spiritual component of this voice also made it easier to visualize the image of the delicate patriarch even if one can’t see the avatar. So in conduct and appearance, the patriarch appeared to be gentle and lovely.

She asked Purple Vine, "So what if we get the technology and our strength improves significantly? Will our strength be good enough to defeat the Red and Blue Fire sect? Will it be worth it to offend the Blood Skull sect?"

Purple Flower didn’t have a convincing answer to those questions, so she accepted defeat easily. She bowed and said, "I was shortsighted. It is good that we have your wisdom to guide us."

But Green Viper wasn’t satisfied with the turn of events. He said, "But those weapons could be hiding dangers. Their notorious sect master, Sword Flash, might have attached hidden spaces to them so that that violet bastard could smuggle them into the sect."

He wanted to make more accusations, but the avatar cut him off with a laugh.

After laughing, she said, "You think Sword Flash was trying to use a golden core elder to sneak into the sect? What do you take him for?"

Before he could reply, she explained to him, "Don’t worry about Sword Flash trying to sneak into the sect because if he wanted to do so, there is nothing you could do to stop him. In fact, he has sneaked into this sect many times."

This bombshell of news took Green Viper and Purple Vine by surprise. Their eyes widened in disbelief and fear.

Purple Vine even lost composure and asked in shock, "What? That can’t be true."
