CHAPTER 601: GREEN GIANT.

The green cloud around Green Viper was made entirely of acidic poison, so it was very dangerous. But not only was it dangerous on contact, Green Viper could also control it.

Green Viper manipulated the cloud and shaped it into the form of a giant green snake. His figure was now on top of the head of the giant snake, with his waist apparently fused with the head of the snake.

On the other side, Arthur threw aside the Storm of Blades. He let this artifact prepare itself and be on standby. He didn’t intend to use it now because he wasn’t sure that the green energy that Green Viper produced wouldn’t corrode it.

He determined that his main reliance for this fight will be spells, which is why he activated the Lightning Angel spell and the Lightning Net spell.

He didn’t bother to use wood spells, though. This was because he had the same concerns as the ones he had for the Storm of Blades.

When he activated the Lightning Angel spell, blue lightning erupted from him and coalesced into the shape of armor around him. Because the lightning had been compressed into form, the color of the armor changed from blue to violet.

The violet armor made him look like an armored knight. But his armor also had large wings that stretched outwards from him. This was the manifestation of the Lightning Angel spell.

As for the Lightning Net spell, this spell caused the lightning that erupted from him to spread into the surroundings as a layer of blue violent energy.

Anyone who touches this layer of lightning will be attacked by it. So the spell had essentially formed a domain of lightning capable of attacking everything in the vicinity.

Once Arthur began to move, the domain of lightning followed him about. Even though his speed was lightning fast, the domain was able to keep up and keep him at its center because he was the source of the lightning.

Green Viper narrowed his eyes as Arthur approached him. This was because Arthur was much faster than he expected.

Arthur was definitely faster than him. And since Arthur had taken the initiative to move towards him, if he didn’t respond soon, he would continue to fall behind.

Even before the two of them made contact with each other, Green Viper began feeling some pressure. But he didn’t let this pressure make him afraid.

He made the giant green snake beneath him open its mouth and spew forth a large amount of green energy at Arthur.

He didn’t choose to attack Arthur directly with the poison green energy from his body. Instead, he accumulated a lot of the poison within the giant green snake and compressed it, so when it was finally released, the green energy had become a liquid.

Because of its compressed liquid form and the pressure by which it was released, the attack approached Arthur faster than Green Viper could move himself. And just like highly pressurized water, this ejected liquid could cut diamonds.

The poison jet struck Arthur’s all-encompassing net of lightning first. The lightning erupted and began to destroy it, but the poison jet was too pressurized and too fast, so it was going to hit Arthur before it could be destroyed.

So Arthur had to dodge the attack very quickly. But this wasn’t a problem for him. It was very easy for him to dodge because of the wings of his lightning angel form.

However, this meant that he couldn’t reach Green Viper earlier than he wanted. So Green Viper was able to produce another poison jet to attack him with.

Arthur dodged the second poison jet. Then he dodged the second and the third.

The giant green snake wasn’t just for show. It was a machine capable of compressing Green Viper’s poisonous energy and giving it a sharp edge and fast speed, which is something poison usually lacked.

However, no matter how many poison jets that the Green Viper produced to delay him, he was able to get close enough for his domain of lightning to make contact with Green Viper.

At this point, Green Viper’s body sank into the giant green snake. He did this to protect his body and avoid making contact with the lightning.

Lightning was destructive, but it has another important ability, which is its ability to electrocute a living target. So if he didn’t hide from the lightning and let it touch him, he would become stunned, which would make the fight end in a quick defeat for him.

Even though he avoided the lightning, he still couldn’t avoid being affected by it. The effect on him was minimal, as the giant snake was taking the brunt of it. But since the giant snake came from him, he too began to feel the strain.

Lightning is called the king of elements because it is not weak to any element, and most elements, if not all, are weak to it. Even poison is weak to lightning. This is because it is an energy form that is easy for lightning to destabilize.

As soon as the lightning net made contact with the giant green snake, it began to destroy its structure. This caused many tiny explosions to erupt across the surface of the snake.

The snake was able to resist collapsing. But it achieved this at a great cost of energy.

The lightning net was melting the giant snake and making it lose mass quickly. Once it lost enough mass, it would collapse.

In order to prevent this, Green Viper had to continue supplying a lot of energy into the giant snake, which caused him to feel a strain on his body from the safety of the insides of the giant snake.

At this point, the fight had reached an impasse. Green Viper was temporarily safe within the giant green snake and Arthur didn’t want to plunge into the body of the giant snake in order to get to Green Viper even though he could.
