Mountain Sitting Immortal
Chapter 604: Final Outcome.
His action had consumed a lot of his energy, but it made it so that he finally managed to envelop Arthur. This is what he had wanted to do when he made the giant snake lunge at Arthur earlier.
He had wanted to swallow Arthur earlier. Arthur had run away, which forced him to activate the second transformation of his battle art.
But finally everything worked out well. He was able to get close to Arthur and drag him into his poisonous body.
He said to Arthur with a twisted sense of excitement, "You've had your fun. Now it's my turn."
He controlled the cloud of poison surrounding them to contract and collapse inwardly. This caused the gaseous state of the gas to quickly turn to a liquid state.
These transformations also caused the energy consumption of the lightning angel armor to increase. After all, Arthur was being attacked from all around, and the intensity of the attack was only increasing.
Arthur's face was grim, while Green Viper was relaxed. He said to Arthur, "It is your turn to try and catch me now. Let me see if you can catch me before your energy runs out."
He had run out of energy, so he had no intention of getting close to Arthur to face the heavy hammer. His focus now was evading the storm of blades and hiding from Arthur while slowly grinding him down with poison.
In response to this, Arthur reactivated the lightning net spell. This caused the lightning that was only focused on his body to expand and spread into the surroundings. The result was intense.
Before, when he was outside the giant snake, his lightning net had to slowly melt it, and he could only attack a small portion of the external surface of the giant snake. But now that he was inside the giant snake, the lightning net spell finally got the opportunity to display its full capabilities.
There was another intense explosion similar to the one Green Viper made earlier. But this one caused the giant snake to collapse without permission from Green Viper.
The explosion occurred between the three of them. The cloud of poison was heated rapidly by the intense energy in the violent lightning, which caused the cloud of poison to expand in their face.
So the explosion harmed both of them. It also pushed them aside and caused the cloud of poison to be dispersed.
When the world became clear again, the two fighters were revealed in all of their glory. To the weaker beings at the third mortal coil, Arthur was still a bright golden man glowing with an intense golden light, while Green Viper had dimmed.
They could even begin to make out details of what Green Viper looked like. This was an indication that he had lost too much energy and couldn't maintain his power output.
For the knowledgeable ones in the audience, they knew what this meant. Most didn't know and were confused by the sight, but Arthur and Green Viper for sure knew their situation very well.
It was clear to both of them that Green Viper was spent. Arthur could see this clearly and could even see the injuries all over Green Viper's green body.
The injuries are only skin deep, as it will take a lot more than a dilute explosion to injure him critically. But the fact that he was injured at all by that explosion was telling that he was on his last legs.
Arthur smiled at him and asked, "Do you want to continue?"
He could afford to be lax and give Green Viper time to catch his breath because Green Viper can't regenerate his life energy with mana from the atmosphere. Green Viper will need to eat to replenish his life energy.
He, on the other hand, regenerates his energy every moment. So this moment of rest is for his benefit and only his benefit.
The longer the fight lulls, the more he recovers to his peak state. So it should be Green Viper that should be worried that they are taking a rest.
However, Green Viper decided not to worry about anything anymore. It will take a while for him to be defeated, as his body is as tough as a mid-grade rank 4 weapon. But he decided to give up now since if he continued to fight, all he would be doing is taking a beating.
He wiped the blood from his eye and said, "You're strong. I see now how you managed to kill my son. It is not a shame that my son died to someone like you."
Arthur nodded in agreement and said, "Of course it isn't a shame. It can't be a shame since his father also lost to me."
Green Viper rolled his eyes and said, "I already said that you're strong. I praised you, so you don't need to rub my defeat in."
Arthur smiled and said, "If I don't, who will?"
He looked around and said, "It has to be me because I don't see anyone lining up to make fun of you."
Green Viper laughed. As he did so, his injuries healed.
He asked Arthur, "Shall we call this a draw? I feel like you cheated with your lightning. I could have won if you didn't have lightning. I only became this miserable because I forced my life energy outside of my body in order to protect myself from your lightning."
He made a good point, but Arthur refused. He said, "I have to take the win so I can get my reward. So you have to surrender, or I beat you until you can't fight anymore."
Green Viper considered the ultimatum as his body healed. His healing made him look better as his injuries disappeared. But this wasn't free. His low energy reserves became even lower so that he could heal his injuries.
After his lips healed, he said, "I surrender. You win."
Pale Shadow appeared at that point to end the fight.
