Mountain Sitting Immortal
Chapter 607: Drastic Actions.
It was only a matter of time before the sparks of violence turned into flames of war. Arthur couldn't let that happen.
So he had to take a break from studying formations to step in and put a stop to all the fighting. He also decided to make some changes to the games, such as removing the ranking list.
Unfortunately, he couldn't make this change because Purple Vine interfered. In fact, Purple Vine's actions only riled up the disciples of the Purple Flower sect and made them more violent.
If the patriarch of the Purple Flower sect hadn't appeared to calm the situation down, the fighting would have escalated. What the Patriarch did was to give Arthur permission to make any changes that he wanted to the exchange program.
This permission allowed Arthur to remove the most important source of conflict between both sides. The issue wasn't eliminated completely, but everyone calmed down and got to live along with each other for the next few months.
Arthur spent 12 months like this in the Purple Flower sect. When the time to leave finally came, he was very eager about it.
But Purple Vine didn't want him to leave. She was anxious to stop him because the exchange program had ended on a good note.
She thought to herself, "At this rate, a second exchange program between all five sects will be held soon. I have to stop it before it happens."
Unfortunately, time had run out for her to ruin the exchange program with petty tactics. The best and surest method to use right now is to do something so heinous that the Blood Skull sect will immediately become at odds with the Purple Flower sect and won't forgive them easily.
Doing something so heinous would be risky and would lead to dangerous consequences for her if found out, but she was willing and determined to take the risk. So when nighttime came, she sneaked out of the inner sect.
She had been sneaking out of the inner sect many times recently. But this time her destination is the place where the disciples of the Blood Skull sect lodge in the outer sect.
Her goal for going there is to poison all 505 of them. Once all the disciples of the Blood Skull sect are found dead and the cause of their death is determined to be poison, there is only one person to blame.
To ensure that the Purple Flower sect won't be able to avoid the blame, she plans to use their iconic poison called the Purple Flower poison. This is a poison that causes hallucinations and feelings of euphoria, so the poisoned person will die a peaceful and pleasurable death.
With this poison, the disciples of the Blood Skull sect will die without crying for help or drawing too much attention. So it will already be too late to save them when they are discovered.
And since only a golden core cultivator of the Purple Flower sect can make this point, there is no way that the Purple Flower sect will be able to avoid the blame.
She chose to do this instead of trying to kill Arthur because Arthur will be too difficult to kill and might even draw attention during the process.
If he was still the new and weak golden core cultivator that she thought he was, she might have attempted to kill him. But after seeing his fight against Green Viper, she had to elevate his estimation and forget about killing him quietly and quickly.
If he were easy to kill, she would have revisited the idea even though her contact with the Red and Blue Fire sect said that killing him was too risky and dangerous.
She smiled to herself and said, "Even though I can't kill that Arthur, I can kill all of the disciples he is supposed to watch, and the effect will be even better. With 505 disciples under his watch dead, he will be the most distraught one and will make sure that the Blood Skull sect seeks revenge."
She has already informed her contact in the Red and Blue Fire sect, and he gave her the go-ahead. He even promised to give her the rank 5 technique that she wanted.
All of these things filled her with anticipation. She was looking forward to killing the people of the sect that was supposed to help her sect without caring about the consequences of such an act to her sect.
In fact, she planned to leave the Purple Flower sect after she had done the deed. Her excuse will be that she went into seclusion to advance to the fifth mortal coil.
Her excuse will be perfectly reasonable since she has reached the limit of the golden core realm for quite a while. But the Blood Skull sect won't believe it and will instead think that the Purple Flower sect is using it as an excuse to protect her.
The more she thought about it, the prouder she felt of herself for coming up with these plans. Her face was as placid as ever, but her heart was full of pride.
She reached her destination safely. When she got there, she saw that the disciples of the Blood Skull sect were awake and no one was sleeping.
This was normal, as it was normal for people at the second mortal coil to stop needing sleep after their mind becomes activated. It also didn't matter if they were awake or not, so she didn't care.
She went ahead with her plan, which was releasing a stream of purple energy from her body. The purple energy formed a thick layer of fog that covered the entire area. This ensured that all of her targets got a good whiff of the poison.
Arthur was also in the area, but the poison would take much longer to kill him even if she targeted him, so she made the fog of poison avoid his house in order not to alert him to what was going on around him.
