CHAPTER 649: BURNING SKY.

There are more than one layers of space and the second sun had been pushed beyond the first layer of space.

So the second sun was still at the same position. But there was now a barrier of space between it and the rest of the world.

The second sun is still denoted. It exploded into a great big ball of fire with enough power to incinerate most, if not all, of the Five Kingdoms. This meant that it had the power to kill millions of people and wipe out an area of land equal to five kingdoms or countries.

If Arthur had witnessed this explosion, he would be able to tell without a doubt that the explosion was enough to destroy a continent of Earth from his past life and punch a great big hole through the planet.

But he didn’t see this explosion. No one below the level of nascent soul saw the explosion. As for the nascent soul cultivators whose spiritual senses could bypass the first barrier of space, they witnessed the explosion and quickly regretted it. This was because the heat of the explosion had burned their senses and their minds.

However, the rest of the cultivators still realize that whatever they had missed was impactful because they saw that cracks had spread through the world in the area where the second sun used to be.

The cracks spread across the sky and covered the air above the entire Five Veins region. Yellow light also seeped out of these cracks. This made the sky look like it was covered with a web made of golden strings.

The web eventually disappeared as the cracks healed and were sealed. This signified that the worst of the explosion was over.

When Sword Flash saw this, he moved his entire body past the first layer of space and went onto the second layer. This second layer of space was completely dark, but he was able to find what he was looking for. Then he picked up the fire pill.

The fire pill was now exhausted, so it didn’t harm him or resist after he grabbed it. Sword Flash was able to take it and bring it back to the world above the first layer of space.

The patriarchs of the five sects saw this and knew without a doubt that Sword Flash wasn’t at the fifth mortal coil anymore.

They had been suspecting this when he suddenly appeared from seemingly nowhere. But after seeing him go to the second layer with just his body and even pick something from there, they knew without a doubt that his existence had begun the journey of spiritual conversion.

Sword Flash reappeared where the second sun had disappeared. This was close to where the nascent soul of Dancing Fire was trapped, so he was able to reach out his hand to grab the phantom figure.

The phantom figure roared in anger, "Nooooooooooooo! You can’t do this to me. You can’t do this to us. This is not fair. We fought and bled for so many years. I refuse to accept this."

But nothing he could say or do was able to stop the soul crystal from absorbing his soul. He, too, was sealed and kept away.

The Sword Flash addressed all the confused people looking at him from below, saying, "It is over. We won. It is now time to distribute the loot."

For most of the people on the battlefield, including Arthur, all they saw was the sudden death of so many people and the sudden appearance of Sword Flash.

Then they saw the leader of the Red and Blue Fire sect crying. What happened next confused them. But they didn’t think too much about it after hearing that the war was over and it was time for them to distribute loot. Everyone cheered and hugged each other.

Everyone was happy for one reason or another, whether it was because they survived the war or because they now had the spoils of war to look forward to.

The people of the Purple Flower sect were the most emotional ones. It wasn’t difficult to guess why they were the happiest people.

Arthur himself sighed in relief and said, "For a while there, I thought we were doomed. But it is good that I was wrong."

Just like that, the ear ended. The work of clearing up the battlefield began immediately.

No one expected the war to end like this. Many people, like Arthur, expected a period of extended warfare and the trading of blows that would take days. But the war only took a few hours.

All in all, the battle and the preparation of the battlefield took a week. During this week, every sect had invested a lot of resources and manpower. Aside from the Blood Skull sect, every sect also lost some members in the war.

Most of the lives that were lost were lost during the attempt to infiltrate and board the mobile fortresses during the first exchange of the battle. About 55% of the total casualties took place there.

The remaining 45% happened when the 10th and 9th walls were suddenly breached. The people manning the two walls and those in between the walls at the time the rank 6 weapons ran rampant were also killed.

There was also the loss of the beasts and corpses that were used to defend the walls. These ones, too, were destroyed by the rampaging rank 6 weapons.

All in all, every sect had lost one thing or another and wanted compensation for their loss by gaining a large portion of the loot. This caused the patriarchs to argue for a while.

Sword Flash didn’t join in the argument. He took the nascent soul of the six patriarchs of the Red and Blue Fire sect. He also took their rank 6 weapons and the space rings of the six patriarchs.

Then he raided their base to take anything too valuable to miss or share with the other sects. While the patriarchs were arguing, he was quietly enriching himself.
