CHAPTER 650: A BITTER PILL.

After taking the bulk of everything, Sword Flash left them to share the rest. No one could ask him to spit out what he had swallowed. They could only argue with each other about who would get how much of what was left for them to share.

The worst part is that Lady Evergreen still wanted a share of what was left. She claimed that what Sword Flash was his own and that what she wanted to take would be for the Blood Skull sect.

It was already bad that Sword Flash had taken a great big bite of all the loot. It would be adding insult to injury to let Lady Evergreen take another portion of what was left. So many of the patriarchs didn’t want this to happen at all.

They argued on the matter of the Blood Skull sect taking another portion of the reward for a while. This argument didn’t last long before the patriarchs finally relented and allowed Lady Evergreen to take another portion for the Blood Skull sect.

This conclusion came about because Thunder Drake said that he would complain to Sword Flash that the other four sects wanted to cheat them. They didn’t want any trouble from Sword Flash, so they capitulated.

It was a bitter pill to swallow. But they were already used to it by now, so the bitterness was manageable.

This kind of thing is similar to how they shared the 25 secret realms under their jurisdiction. The Blood Skull sect had taken the bulk of the secret realms, which they refused to share with others. But they still participated in sharing the secret realm of other sects during the intersect competition.

So the four sects have been forced to swallow this kind of bitter pill every five years for more than a thousand years. They had to be used to it by now.

Besides, one more person sharing the remaining loot wouldn’t affect them much. After all, the reduction of what each one of them will get if five of them share the loot compared to four sects sharing the loot is from 25% to 20%.

It wasn’t worth it to anger the Blood Skull sect and Sword Flash over 5%. So they agreed to share the remaining loot.

They surely didn’t like this and even considered banding together to eliminate the Blood Skull sect. But they had to give up on this idea because the five of them working together had failed to take on the Red and Blue Fire sect, so there was no way that four of them working together would be able to handle Sword Flash.

At the end of the day, they agreed that the Blood Skull sect would take 30%, the Black Bones sect would take 20%, the Sword Way sect would take 20%, the Beast Training sect would take 20%, while the Purple Flower sect would take 10%.

The Blood Skull sect bullied the four sects, and three of those four sects bullied the Purple Flower sect. They claimed that the Purple Flower sect was the biggest beneficiary of this war and ought to pay them for their help in resisting the invader, not earn the same amount of loot as them.

So it would be the Purple Flower sect that would be paying the Blood Skull sect 10% of their share. This wasn’t favorable to them, but their patriarch couldn’t argue about this.

After all, she was the only patriarch of her sect, and she didn’t have powerful avatars like the patriarch of the Black Bones sect. She was alone and weak, so she had to bear the loss.

To be honest, the Red and Blue Fire was truly rich. Apart from everything that Sword Flash had taken, there were still nearly 100 mobile fortresses, over 100 rank 5 armor suits, over 500 rank 4 armor suits, 6 rank 5 flying fortresses, over 30 rank 4 flying fortresses, over 50 rank 5 flying warships, nearly 200 rank 4 flying warships, the blueprints of all these war machines, plenty of mana stones, even more resources, and special cannons called God-killing cannons.

Be that as it may, they didn’t let their greed get to their heads and blind their reason. They had just witnessed how everyone in one sect was wiped out by millions of swords in a split second. If they didn’t want that to happen to them, they must not do anything to anger Sword Flash.

Everyone took what they could take. Then they went their separate ways.

No one bothered to demolish the walls, clear the moats, remove the traps, or level the ground. Everyone left those things to the Purple Flower sect to handle. After they got their loot, they ran away without looking back.

However, the Purple Flower sect did have a lot to be happy about, so they didn’t complain about being left with all of the work. What mattered the most to them was that they got to remain a sect.

The people from the Blood Skull sect were the first to leave, while their elders were the fastest to return to their sect. This was because every golden core cultivator of the sect had been called for a meeting. It was an urgent meeting that everyone had to attend as fast as possible.

All 31 of them quickly assembled in the council hall. When they got there, they found the three patriarchs waiting for them.

Even without talking, they knew that the situation was serious because the patriarchs appeared to be in their true bodies, not their avatars.
