Mountain Sitting Immortal
Chapter 680 680: Size Matters.
The two of them were ten meters tall. Compared to the five-meter-tall golem that appeared, they were twice as strong.
In their culture and back in their home world, the size and height of something, the stronger it is. Size matters a lot for them. It is an indication of strength. The bigger something is, the stronger it is.
Since the two of them are twice as strong as this thing, they felt confident in their strength.
So the red gem king said with pride, "Surrender and I'll let you live."
In reply, the Thunder Drake pointed his finger at them, and out of it came a blue bolt of lightning. He couldn't understand what they were saying anyway, so it was better for him to attack. After all, actions speak louder than words.
The bolt of lightning was fast, but the reaction of the two of them was also fast. The red gem king punched forward and smashed his fist into the lightning bolt. This caused the lightning bolt to enter his body, not disperse like he expected.
The energy within the bolt of lightning entered the body of the red gem king and began wreaking havoc in the bus arm. His body was strong, so his arm didn't explode. But by the time the energy of the bolt of lightning was done, his arm had become hot and numb.
The previous hauty face of the red gem king had become solemn after this attack. He asked in shock, "How did you do that?"
Not only him, even the usually composed green gem king was also shocked by the turn of events. This was because lightning is the power of heaven and a taboo power that they are afraid of in their world.
But again, Thunder Drake didn't reply. After seeing that they were susceptible to lightning, he decided to increase the pressure of his attacks.
He created many bolts of lightning that he shot towards the two of them. The sight of the tens of blue snakes of lightning energy rushing towards them filled the two gem kings with instinctive fear. But they didn't back down.
The two of them roared and hardened their body. This move slowed them down because their body became difficult to move after being hardened. But it also greatly increased the defense of their body.
The blue lightning bolts smashed into their bodies, but were unable to penetrate their defense. But the lightning didn't fade away and disperse. What the lightning did was to spread all over their bodies and scorch them from the outside.
The saving grace for the gem kings is that the gem that makes up their body is a material that is an incredible insulator of electricity and highly fire-resistant. If their body were highly conducive to electricity, they would have been doomed.
The incredible insulating power of their bodies wasn't by chance. They had intentionally made their power this way in order to resist the power of lightning, which they feared so much.
But this situation wasn't enough to stump Thunder Drake. Since he couldn't destroy their bodies with lightning directly, he used it to trap them.
He could have forced the issue and let lightning blast their bodies to pieces, no matter how insulting their bodies were. But he decided to be more efficient with his energy and instead use the lightning bolts as chains to bind the two gem kings.
Instead of making the lightning bolts explode, blasting his enemies and making them short-lived, he made the lightning bolts long-lived by transforming them into chains made of lightning snakes. The bolts of lightning truly looked like snakes because they came alive and slithered about like living things.
Under his control, the lightning snakes wrapped around the two gem kings. This restricted the movement of their body.
Some lightning snakes even joined the two gem kings together and acted as shackles binding them together. This made it very difficult for them to retaliate when the golem began circling them and punching them.
Each of his punches caused their gem body to crack. The lightning snakes binding them quickly took advantage of this exposed weakness and entered their body through the cracks.
The two of them recognized how unfavorable the situation was, so they willingly fell from the sky to the ground. Once their feet touched the ground, their strength soared.
As earth elementals, they were meant to fight on the ground with their two feet planted like trees to the ground. Their power in the air is weak, but they've rectified this weakness.
Unfortunately, their improved strength still wasn't enough to turn the tide of the battle. Between the two of them, they have eight arms. But they were still being suppressed by the two arms of the golem.
This was because they didn't get as much of an advantage as they used to get when their feet touched the ground. The area around them has become the domain of the Ethera tree, and the Ethera tree is hostile to them, so they couldn't use the ground to harden their body even further.
The domain couldn't suppress their body, but it could suppress their connection to the earth. Landing on the ground had indeed increased their strength, but it had also restricted their movement options and slowed them down. This, as well as the incredible strength of the golem, put them at a disadvantage.
This golem is not Thunder Clap's true body, and it is not the elemental avatar made of lightning that he usually uses. He borrowed it from Sword Flash, so it is very difficult for the fragment of his soul within the golem to display his full strength.
But one thing the golem has that even his true body doesn't have is great strength and great defense. This is because the golem is a peak rank 5 artifact. So while his energy attacks are lacking in this state as he is borrowing the golem, his physical prowess is unmatched.
