Mountain Sitting Immortal
Chapter 681 681: Spiritual Lightning.
In fact, Thunder Drake is trying his best not to unleash too much power with the golem because once his power output crosses the 99 C gap, he will be displaced to the second layer of space and will be easily ejected out of the realm into the void by the world spirit.
Despite him actively limiting the strength of the golem, if his two enemies could pressure him and dish back as much power as he gave to them, he would be in danger of crossing the threshold.
Fortunately for him and unfortunately for his enemies, the two gem kings were restrained and suppressed, so they couldn't display much of their power.
He was faster than they, and the fact that he didn't fight them head-on further made their power go to waste. He was like an opportunistic shark. He would evade their attempts to retaliate and instead use his advantage of speed to strike them where they couldn't block or dodge his attacks.
At first, they were able to resist the power of the lightning bolts. The best that the lightning bolts could do was restrain their movements. But as cracks opened up all over their bodies, the lightning bolts began to do more structural damage to them.
The damage caused by the lightning bolts stunned them and slowed them down. They were already slow when they hardened their bodies and fell to the earth, but as the fight went on, they became slower and slower.
This put them at a disadvantage the longer the fight continued. They became too slow to hit the golem, and in the few special times that they actually hit the golem, it was their fists that suffered the most.
Even letting sharp spikes grow on their fists didn't help their situation. Instead of the spikes piercing the golem, the spikes only broke off after smashing into the golem.
This made them quickly realize that they were going to lose and probably die. So they decided to escape.
The two of them turned back and ran away from him. They wanted to run in opposite directions to maximize their chances of escaping, but they couldn't do that because the lightning chains had bound the two of them together.
Even so, their attempt still wasn't good enough to escape. Thunder Drake wasn't willing to let them go, so he pulled on the lightning snakes with his hand and used them to drag the two gem kings back.
The behavior of lightning astonished Arthur, who was watching the fight from afar, and the two gem kings were suffering from the lightning bolts. This was because lightning was behaving like stable solid matter, not the fickle and unstable plasma that it should be.
Lightning was actually being used as a rope. Arthur was a little knowledgeable, so he knew that this was a perk of spiritual energy.
According to what he has read and heard others say, spiritual energy is a higher state of energy in that it is energy influenced by the thoughts and intentions of its wielder.
He knows that because of spiritual energy, energy becomes more powerful, more flexible, and malleable in the hands of its wielder. But the two gem kings didn't know this. Their ignorance increased their fear, and their increased fear reduced their will to fight.
All they wanted to do was escape at all costs. So they targeted the lightning snakes binding them, not the golem.
Their decision to change their focus wasn't half bad. After all, they had already tried many times to beat the golem, but had failed in doing so. So targeting the lightning snakes seemed to be a better alternative.
They grabbed the lightning snakes with their many hands and stretched them in order to tear them apart. But whenever they did this, the lightning snakes always chose to behave like elastic rubber that could be stretched.
Even when the lightning snakes were torn, the energy within them wouldn't dissipate and would instead flow into other lightning snakes to strengthen them. Sometimes, the torn lightning snakes would simply rejoin and become whole again if the gem kings let go of them soon after tearing them apart.
So they were struggling in futility while Thunder Drake beat them up and broke their bodies apart. This frustrated them to no end, so they began to curse and threaten him.
The red gem king said to him, "You'd better let us go, or you will regret this. We are servants of the great ivory gem emperor. If you don't let us go, you will have to bear the wrath of a gem emperor. You are strong, but the Wrath of an emperor is something that you can't bear."
The green gem king also added, "There is also the gem god. If you anger him, he will destroy you and also destroy your world. So let us go or be doomed."
They were threatening Thunder Drake, but they were not lying or exaggerating. If he doesn't let them go and leave Aries as soon as possible, what the two gem kings said is what their gem emperor and their gem god will do.
The two of them are at risk of dying, but they didn't beg for mercy. This is because they couldn't back down about the ownership of the world and couldn't pretend to surrender.
The gem people are a lot of things, but they are not liars. They will never lie when they are pressuring someone with threats or lie by pretending to give up on the world of Aries so that their lives will be spared.
They also didn't think that Thunder Drake would be able to really kill them. They have something that they are counting on to preserve their lives, so they didn't show fear.
Not that their reaction or showing fear or threats was going to change the outcome of this fight. Thunder Drake didn't speak to them at all or care about their ramblings.
