CHAPTER 171: CHAPTER 171) NOT A MATCH.

Anastasia aka Clara’s pov,

It has been half an hour, but no sign of the Zelggly herb anywhere.

It was hard to find, and thinking about the miserable state that Aunt Penelope was in, made me become more desperate to find the herb.

Sadly, things were not going my way.

I suddenly stopped looking for the Zelggly herb as I had become frustrated.

I wasn’t always like this, but I am stressed out right now.

"Argh! Why is this happening?! It has taken so long, and I haven’t found the Zelggly herb. It was not as bad as this when I was searching for the Zelggly herb during Anders’ turn".

’Calm down, Clara. How do you expect to find the Zelggly herb looking like this?’. Elektra said to me and I sighed in defeat.

I tried to calm myself, because being frustrated wasn’t going to help me find the Zelggly herb. Rather, it was only going to contribute to making things worse for me.

’Can you hear me, my dear mate? I have found the herb for you’. I heard the Lycan King’s voice, and my eyes widened in disbelief. I was stunned and relieved at the same time.

I didn’t imagine that he was going to find the Zelggly herb before me. Not that I actually cared about the person who was going to find the Zelggly herb first.

All that mattered to me the most was that no matter who found the Zelggly herb first, I could use it to save Aunt Penelope.

The Lycan King’s presence was strong, so I rushed in the direction of his scent and began to locate him.

’What is it, Clara? Where are you hurrying to?’. Elektra asked me.

"To the Lycan King. He has found the Zelggly herb". I replied to her.

’Really? That’s awesome. Our mate is awesome!’. She exclaimed, but I rolled my eyes.

Why did she like the Lycan King so much? He was both me and her mate, but I could tell that she had more feelings for him compared to me, who was not sure of the way I felt towards him.

The truth was that right now, with all the strange things that were going on, like black shadow, the demons, hybrid creatures and wild beasts, I wasn’t ready to settle down or be in any relationship.

I haven’t dealt with all these problems I have mentioned, and yet, that human-like demon we faced earlier said something about him being among the ten dark supreme rangers of the darkness, the demon king, who was also black shadow.

And he said that as long as the demon king lives, the ten supreme subjects and the demonic armies are naturally going to resurrect the stronger he (the demon king) gets.

That human-like demon from earlier was one of the supreme subjects he mentioned. So, if my guess is correct, the remaining nine supreme subjects and the demonic armies are yet to resurrect.

And from the look of things, the supreme dark subjects or rangers... or whatever he called them.... They must be formidable.

In that case, I must never allow them and the demonic armies to resurrect.

And in order to prevent that from ever happening, I must kill black shadow as soon as possible.

Killing black shadow automatically means that those remaining nine supreme bastards and the demonic armies are not ever going to resurrect.

Discarding the thoughts in my mind, I hurried to locate the Lycan King.

It didn’t take long, and I eventually found him. He stood tall, with the heavy snowy wind blowing at him and causing his long hair and his clothes to sway back and forth.

His back was facing me, and in his right hand was a herb I recognized. It was the Zelggly herb.

After I stood behind the Lycan King, like two feet away from him, he turned around and looked at me.

Why was this scene so familiar but otherworldly to me?

It looked like all those scenes in the movies I had watched, about when the male lead had come to the female lead’s rescue.

What am I even thinking at a time like this when Aunt Penelope was suffering pain?

’Fireball, Irving, stop searching for the Zelggly herb. It has already been found by the Lycan King. Both of you should come to me immediately if you can hear me’. I mind linked both of them at the same time.

’Understood, mama’.

’Sure, mama. Anything for you’.

They both replied to me, before I hurried and snatched the Zelggly herb from the Lycan King.

"Wa-".

"Thanks for this. You are a life saver". I said to him and mistakenly cut him off before I even realized it.

Anyway, Fireball and Irving came to me, and I didn’t hesitate and teleported all of us back to the hospital.

We arrived in the ward and saw that Doctor Rebecca and Doctor Jonathan were there with Aunt Penelope.

They seemed to sigh in relief after seeing me.

"How is everything, doctor Rebecca? Can we proceed with the blood transfusion now?". I asked her, but the hopeful look on my face disappeared after seeing the dispirited look on her face.

I asked her, "What happened?".

"I’m sorry to say this, Alpha Anastasia, but your blood isn’t a match for elder Penelope’s blood group. And if nothing is done, she is going to eventually lose her life. We have wasted enough time. She needs to be treated quickly". She replied to me and my heart skipped a beat.

My blood was not a match for Aunt Penelope?

"Oh, the Zelggly herb? You shouldn’t lose hope, Alpha Anastasia. We can use the herb to preserve elder Penelope’s life for a few hours until we can find suitable blood that matches hers for the blood transfusion". She added, and I handed over the Zelggly herb to her immediately.

"Go and prepare this and feed it to elder Penelope". I ordered her and tried not to panic.

"What about -".

"Don’t worry about that, Doctor Rebecca. Doctor Jonathan and I are going to handle searching for matching blood, so that we can proceed with the blood transfusion". I declared, and because she hesitated, I quarreled with her, "Just go already and prepare the Zelggly herb for my aunt Penelope, Rebecca". After saying this to her, I teleported out of the ward with Doctor Jonathan.
