Lan Shan looked around but didn’t see Gong Shaoyu’s figure.

"Sure, just a moment." Lan Shan put the coat on the chair, got up, poured a glass of water, returned to the bedside, and placed the cup on the cabinet.

She propped Ye Xinluo up, put a pillow behind her so she could lean back more comfortably.

After doing all this, she picked up the cup and handed it to her, "Drink slowly."

After Ye Xinluo finished drinking the water, she placed the cup back on the cabinet. Lan Shan looked at her somewhat pale face, a bit worried, and asked, "Xinluo, are you feeling unwell anywhere now?"

Ye Xinluo shook her head.

After waking up from a nap, she only felt a bit dizzy, but nowhere else felt uncomfortable.

"Do you want to eat something? What do you want to eat? I’ll go buy it for you," Lan Shan said with a smile.

She hadn’t eaten for so long, she must be very hungry.

At this moment, the door to the ward was pushed open, and Gong Shaoyu walked in carrying a bag in one hand.

Seeing Lan Shan holding a bag, he asked, "Where are you going?"

Lan Shan smiled and said, "Xinluo said she wants porridge, so I’m going to buy it."

"No need, I’ve had Housekeeper Ning buy it," Gong Shaoyu walked into the ward and placed the food on the table.

He took Ye Xinluo’s portion, set up the table for her, and then placed the porridge on it.

"Thank you," Ye Xinluo said.

"No need to thank." Gong Shaoyu handed her the spoon and then smiled, "Be careful, it’s hot."

Ye Xinluo nodded, reached out to take the spoon, and began sipping it slowly.

Lan Shan watched from the side, feeling a bit envious in her heart.

Gong Shaoyu was such a good man, willing to do so many things for Xinluo. If it were her, she’d probably be moved to tears already.

She couldn’t comprehend why someone so good, yet Xinluo just didn’t feel anything for him.

Gong Shaoyu turned back and glanced at Lan Shan, "What are you thinking?"

Lan Shan quickly shook her head, saying, "Nothing."

He picked up a portion of food, handed it to Lan Shan, "This is for you."

"Thank you," Lan Shan reached out to take it, then found a spot to sit and eat.

Honestly, she was also a bit hungry now.

Halfway through eating, Lan Shan seemed to think of something, looking up towards Ye Xinluo she said, "Xinluo, Assistant Mo called me today."

Ye Xinluo paused while eating and said, "What did he say?"

They probably called because they returned from a business trip and found neither of them at the office.

"He asked why we weren’t going to work," Lan Shan repeated what Mo Han had said today.

Ye Xinluo: "And what did you say?"

Lan Shan smiled and said, "I told him you’re not feeling well and that I need to stay with you. We’ll go back to work in a few days."
