All along the way, Lan Shan was in a bewildered state until they came out of the restaurant and onto the street, shivering from the cold. This brought her back to her senses, as she looked at the man in front of her.

"Finally back to your senses?" Gong Shaoyu chuckled, draping the coat in his hand over her shoulders. Lan Shan, still in a daze, put on the coat and asked puzzledly, "Brother Gong, what are you doing here?"

"I’m here for a project discussion," Gong Shaoyu replied truthfully without concealment.

"Then just now..." Thinking back to earlier, Lan Shan felt as if she was dreaming.

Hearing this, Gong Shaoyu smiled, "If I hadn’t shown up, were you planning on just taking that slap? I just couldn’t stand watching him bully others like that."

"Still, thank you. If it weren’t for you, I wouldn’t have been able to get away so quickly. How about I treat you to a meal as a thank you?"

"How can that be? If anyone’s treating someone to a meal, it should be me," Gong Shaoyu smiled and said.

Lan Shan: "Brother Gong, thank you for helping me out just now. I insist on treating this meal. If you argue any further, I might get angry."
