CHAPTER 259: CHAPTER 273: YOU CAN WALK BY YOURSELF
"No need, it’ll be fine soon. It’s just a bit of pain, nothing serious." After saying this, she continued walking.
It was only a bump against the table corner, probably just a bruise or some swelling at most. It’ll be fine after a good night’s sleep. There’s no need to buy medicine, such a hassle.
Gong Shaoyu stood in place, not immediately following her. He stared at Lan Shan’s left leg for a while, noticing her awkward walking posture and guessing it truly hurt.
He strode forward, wrapped an arm around her waist, bent down, and directly lifted her up.
Lan Shan was caught off guard, nearly screaming in surprise. In a spin of dizziness, she found herself in his arms. Looking up, she met Gong Shaoyu’s deep eyes.
His gaze was too captivating, and within five seconds of eye contact, Lan Shan surrendered, lowering her head, too shy to look at him.
Her hand awkwardly rested on his neck as she mumbled, "Um... can you... put me down? I can walk... by myself..."
Wasn’t it just a knee bumped by accident? Is it necessary to make such a fuss? Gong Shaoyu didn’t answer her question, nor did he intend to put her down.
Instead, he carried her to the parking lot. "Which one?"
"Huh?" Lan Shan looked up, confused at him.
"Your car." Gong Shaoyu glanced at her.
Lan Shan then realized, turned her head to look, and pointed in a direction, "Over there, the red one."
Gong Shaoyu looked in the direction she pointed, then began walking toward it. Leaning into his chest, Lan Shan couldn’t help but raise her head slightly to observe him.
A flicker of surprise crossed her mind. From the restaurant door to here, it was at least several hundred meters. Isn’t he tired from carrying her like this?
Although she’s not heavy, carrying anyone for so long should be exhausting, yet he seemed perfectly fine.
"Actually, you can openly look at me, I don’t mind," Gong Shaoyu’s calm voice sounded.
Lan Shan’s heart skipped a beat. Oh no, caught red-handed. Her cheeks flushed as she quickly lowered her head, avoiding eye contact.
Gong Shaoyu’s breath intentionally or unintentionally brushed against Lan Shan’s ear, making her cheeks turn even redder, and causing her heart to pound relentlessly.
The walk to the car was brief, yet Lan Shan felt as though it lasted several centuries.
Finally reaching the car, Gong Shaoyu placed her down to stand before asking, "Key."
"Oh, oh," Lan Shan murmured, dazed, retrieving the key from her bag to hand it over, watching as he unlocked the car and opened the passenger door.
Seeing him about to lift her up again, Lan Shan quickly retreated, enduring the pain in her knee, and slipped into the car.
Observing her response, Gong Shaoyu chuckled softly, shut her car door, and then walked to the driver’s side to open the door.
Inserting the key, he started the car and drove out of the parking lot. "Where’s the place you mentioned?"
"Turn right at the next intersection," Lan Shan replied.
Gong Shaoyu remained silent, driving as per her instructions. After about twenty minutes, he parked the car on the roadside.
Lan Shan looked out the window in puzzlement, realizing it wasn’t the place she had mentioned. She turned to him in confusion, asking, "Why stop here?"
"Wait in the car for a moment," he said, after unbuckling his seatbelt, opening the door, and heading in a certain direction.
A few minutes later, Gong Shaoyu returned to the car, holding a tube of ointment in his hand.
