CHAPTER 284: CHAPTER 297: EXPECTING TOO MUCH FROM SOMETHING SMALL?

At the dining table, Jingxi hopped next to Ye Xinluo, reaching out a paw for a hug, "Mommy, hug me." Before he could reach Ye Xinluo, someone grabbed him by the collar and placed him back on his seat.

The dining table was a bit high, so the little fellow had to stand on the chair, glaring discontentedly at the perpetrator, "Uncle, what are you doing?"

Beichen Rui smiled and said, "Eat, don’t run around."

The little fellow refused to give up and tried to go to his mommy. This time, before he could jump off the chair, he was caught and returned.

Jingxi stood in between the two, looking at his dear mommy who was right beside him, but he was helpless. He grumbled silently.

"Xinluo girl, let Housekeeper Lin know what dishes you like, so he can prepare them next time."

Housekeeper Lin appeared with a notebook from somewhere, acting as if he was about to jot something down.

Ye Xinluo: "..."

She chuckled and said, "Grandpa, I’m not picky with food."

"It’s good not to be picky. Arui, that brat, has been a picky eater since he was little. You’ll have to help me manage him later." He criticized his grandson in an exaggerated manner, completely ignoring that he was right there.

"Xinluo girl, you don’t know, this brat even likes to bully others smaller than him."

"Bully those smaller?" Shouldn’t it be bullying the smaller with the big? How did it get reversed?

At this moment, Beichen Rui put some food in her bowl, "Eat and chat while you can."

"Yes, yes, eat and chat. Look at this brain of mine. Xinluo girl, don’t be shy, just tell that brat to serve you whatever you want to eat."

"Mm, okay." She nodded twice.

Jingxi also picked some food and put it in her bowl, deliberately pushing aside those Beichen Rui had picked. This father and son delighted themselves with a game of chopstick rivalry. In no time at all, Ye Xinluo’s bowl was piled into a small mountain.

She held her forehead with a hand, speechlessly glancing at the two. How could these two be so childish?

"Mommy, why aren’t you eating?" The little fellow looked at her with wide eyes. Only then did she pick up her chopsticks and take a bite.

At the dinner table, while eating and chatting, halfway through, the little fellow suddenly put down his chopsticks, causing everyone to look at him with puzzlement.

He turned around, looking pitifully at Ye Xinluo, "Mommy, feed me."

Ye Xinluo put down her chopsticks and looked at the little fellow, "What’s wrong?"

"My arms are tired," he looked at her pitifully.

"Alright, Mommy will feed you." She turned around to ask Housekeeper Lin if there were any spoons, only to see him already coming over, conveniently holding a spoon.

Handing it to Ye Xinluo, he then stepped aside. She held the little fellow’s bowl, scooped a spoonful, but before she could bring it to Jingxi’s mouth, both the bowl and spoon vanished from her hand.

"Let your mommy eat, uncle will feed you," Beichen Rui suddenly said.

With one hand holding the bowl and the other scooping, he picked the little fellow up into his arms. Jingxi looked at him dissatisfied.

He didn’t want his uncle to feed him; he wanted his mommy.

When Beichen Rui held a spoonful of rice towards him, he turned his head away without hesitation, ignoring him.

"What’s wrong? Doesn’t it taste good?" Beichen Rui raised an eyebrow.

"Jingxi, don’t be picky with your food," Ye Xinluo suddenly remarked. With his mommy saying so, the little fellow wilted immediately, turning back, and angrily biting the spoon with a noisy sound.

Beichen Rui raised an eyebrow, "Does that hurt your teeth?"

The little fellow glanced at him, mind your own business? Feeding your food...

Another spoonful was offered to him. This time, Jingxi simply bit down on the spoon and refused to let go, looking triumphantly at Beichen Rui.

As he held onto the spoon, Beichen Rui didn’t rush, allowing him to bite it. After a good while, the little fellow grew tired and reluctantly let go.
