CHAPTER 59: CHAPTER 59: CHARCOAL EGG FRIED RICE
Ye Xinluo returned home, took clothes out of the suitcase and hung them in the wardrobe, then grabbed her change of clothes and went to the bathroom.
Today, she didn’t have to go to the company and planned to cook something nice for Lan Shan and the others. Thinking this, after coming out of the bathroom, she dried her hair with a hairdryer, didn’t rest, changed her clothes, and went straight to the supermarket.
As she was walking, she pondered what delicious things she should cook for them, and headed directly to the vegetable section when she arrived at the supermarket.
It was the afternoon, and the supermarket wasn’t very crowded. Ye Xinluo strolled around with a shopping cart. She bought some vegetables that Lan Shan and Jingxi liked, as well as some daily necessities, and then pushed the cart to the checkout.
Carrying large bags of things back home, she put the vegetables in the fridge, took out the daily necessities, put them away, then turned around and went to the bedroom to sleep.
This morning, because she had to take a flight, she got up a bit early, making her feel drowsy now. She glanced at the time, it was only four in the afternoon, and since there was still time, she could take a nap before getting up to cook. With this thought, she lifted the covers, got into bed, closed her eyes, and dozed off for a while.
....
At six in the evening, Lan Shan came home with Jingxi. As soon as they opened the door, they could smell the aroma coming from the kitchen.
"Godmother, has Mommy come back?"
Lan Shan nodded, that seemed to be the only possibility, who else but Xinluo.
Jingxi excitedly got down from Lan Shan’s arms, dashed into the kitchen, and smiled joyfully when he saw the familiar silhouette inside.
"Mommy, you’re back!" He hadn’t seen his dear Mommy for a few days and missed her to bits. Since yesterday, he had been wondering when she would come back. He hadn’t expected her to return today.
Ye Xinluo put the spatula aside, then turned around and hugged Jingxi, smiling as she said, "Jingxi, did you miss Mommy?"
Jingxi hugged Ye Xinluo’s neck, gave a smacking kiss, and said, "I did, Jingxi has been missing Mommy every day these days."
"Xinluo, when did you get back? Why didn’t you let me know in advance so I could pick you up?" Lan Shan leaned against the doorframe, smiled, and said.
"Weren’t you at work? Plus you had to take care of Jingxi, so no need to bother." She put the little guy down, turned to check the pot on the stove, "You both quickly wash your hands, it’s almost time to eat."
Hearing that there was food, Jingxi immediately danced with joy, "Great, Mommy’s back, I won’t have to eat black charcoal egg fried rice anymore."
Ye Xinluo paused, turned to look at Jingxi, and then at Lan Shan, "Jingxi, what’s black charcoal egg fried rice?"
Why had she never heard of this? While she was away from home, what kind of nonsense had this little guy learned?
Just as Jingxi was about to speak, Lan Shan spoke first.
"Ahem, Xinluo, you must be tired from the flight today, is there anything you need my help with?"
Ye Xinluo smiled slightly and then said, "It’s fine, I got home this afternoon and rested for a while. You go wash Jingxi’s hands, it’s time to eat."
Hearing her say this, Lan Shan thought she wasn’t planning to continue the previous topic and felt relieved.
"Then I’ll take Jingxi to wash his hands first." She walked over, picked up Jingxi, and started to walk out. Just as they reached the kitchen door, Ye Xinluo’s voice sounded from behind.
"By the way, what did Jingxi mean by black charcoal egg fried rice?"
Ugh, how did they get back to this topic again? Lan Shan wanted to cry without tears.
