CHAPTER 136: CHAPTER 136: AN EXCITING ADVENTURE

Lone Wolf was just about to land near Chantelle when a whip hit him hard in the chest.

The blow threw him off the wall.

He coughed up blood.

Lone Wolf crashed into a tree.

Before he even touched the ground, an arrow shot through his chest.

By then, Lone Wolf had passed out.

He fell into the ravine below.

Chantelle heard a loud splash as something heavy hit the water.

"Hang on. I’ll pull you up." Her arms were numb from holding Daniel, but with Lone Wolf gone, it was easier.

Especially now that Thirteen had arrived.

But to her surprise, Daniel climbed the stone wall himself and jumped up.

He landed on his feet right beside her.

He leaned forward and reached out his strong arm to pull Chantelle up.

Her legs were numb from crouching too long.

She couldn’t keep her balance and ended up falling into Daniel’s arms.

Even with the cold mountain wind, his hug felt warm.

She stayed in his arms for a few seconds, then tried to push him away, feeling shy.

But she couldn’t move at all.

Daniel held her tightly in his arms.

No matter how much she struggled, she couldn’t break free.

"Let go, Daniel..." Chantelle snapped out of her thoughts. She looked up at him, confused.

"No."

"Huh? Ugh..." Chantelle didn’t understand.

Then, without warning, his lips pressed against hers.

His kiss was rough and sudden.

For a moment, she stopped fighting.

She let herself drown in it.

Chantelle quickly came back to her senses and bit him hard on the lips.

Daniel tasted blood in his mouth and finally let her go.

"You’re a biter, huh?" he said.

"Well, I have to fight back when a dog bites me."

"You..." Did she just call him a dog?

"Chantie!"

Daniel was about to steal another kiss when a cheerful voice made him stop.

He turned to see who it was.

What was Chantelle doing?

She had slipped out of his arms and was now being all friendly with someone else.

Daniel’s mood soured as he looked at Thirteen getting closer to Chantelle.

Without saying a word, he marched toward them.

"Thank you, Thirteen. You came just in time." Chantelle gently patted Thirteen’s head.

The boy was getting taller. She had to stand on her tiptoes to reach his head.

"Hehe. I’m happy to help, Chantie!" Thirteen laughed and leaned into her, snuggling like a sweet kitten.

He was about to ask if it was time to go home when a dark figure stepped in front of them.

"Honey, who is this child?" Daniel asked.

He looked calm, but there was something dark in his eyes.

He moved closer to Chantelle and acted like they were a couple.

Thirteen didn’t like Daniel from the start.

His cute face frowned the moment he saw him.

"Honey? Chantie, why is he calling you that?"

"Daniel, don’t joke like that."

She gave him a warning look.

He was a grown man, yet here he was fighting with a kid.

Someone might get the wrong idea and think he was just jealous.

"Honey, we have a license to share a bed. Are you backing out after our kiss? I didn’t know you were such a player."

Daniel looked at Chantelle with wide, innocent eyes.

He played the part well.

Chantelle thought the shock must have messed with the bastard’s head.

His performance was good enough to win an award.

Wait a second... was he acting?

Okay. She suddenly realized where Kane got his dramatic side.

She never knew Daniel could be such a drama queen.

Thirteen glanced at Chantelle, then at Daniel. He noticed their bruised lips.

He remembered Chantie once said that a kiss could take the pain away.

That gave Thirteen an idea.

"Chantie, I want to kiss you too!"

Thirteen grabbed her arm and said it with all seriousness.

Chantelle didn’t know what to say. She was caught off guard and felt awkward.

What kind of nonsense had Daniel been saying in front of this child?

He was clearly a bad influence.

"Um... Thirteen..."

Chantelle tried to think of a way to explain to the innocent boy that kisses weren’t something to give out so easily.

But before she could say anything, her cheeks turned red.

How was she supposed to talk about this?

Maybe she should just let him do it.

Kane kissed her all the time anyway.

Daniel couldn’t believe he had brought this on himself. He quickly intervened and pulled Thirteen into a big, cheerful hug.

"No, you’re not allowed to kiss her. You must be Thirteen. Come on, I’ll give you a ride on an aircraft."

"An aircraft? What kind? Chantie has one too. I want to sit next to Chantie."

"My aircraft comes when I whistle. Don’t believe me? I’ll show you."

Trying to distract Thirteen, Daniel put his fingers to his lips and gave the Wilsons’ secret whistle.

A few minutes later, a helicopter flew over.

When the rope ladder dropped down, Daniel told the excited boy to climb up.

"Chantie, this aircraft is fun. Come on!" Thirteen smiled and called out to her from above.

Daniel gave a signal to the crew on the helicopter to take care of Thirteen.

Then he turned and reached out a hand to Chantelle.

"Come on, honey. Let’s go get the kids."

"I can do it myself."

Chantelle brushed him off and started climbing the ladder on her own.

On the helicopter, Chantelle and Daniel sat in the same row.

Even with all the space, it still felt crowded to her.

She noticed some changes to the helicopter. The equipment looked different.

Something felt strange.

"Daniel, has the chopper been nearby this whole time?"

"Yes."

"So you’re saying your men were hiding around here too?"

"You could say that." Daniel had been chasing Lone Wolf, but the Wilsons’ people were nearby.

"You could’ve called them instead of making me do all the work. My arms nearly broke."

The bastard really knew how to push her limit.

Back in the cave near the cabin at Brittin Memorial Garden, Kane was live streaming on his phone.

Kane was excited about his first cave adventure and wanted to share the moment with everyone.

"Hey, everyone! I’m on a big adventure with my family today, and I found a cave. Want to see it?"

He lifted his phone to show the inside of the cave.
