Mr. CEO's Ex-Wife: A Cunning Comeback
Chapter 164: Track Her Down
CHAPTER 164: CHAPTER 164: TRACK HER DOWN
After the call ended, Chantelle went to her room to change clothes.
Philip was watching cartoons on the sofa with his iPad when he saw Chantelle getting ready to leave. He quickly jumped up.
"Chantie, where are you going? Can I come with you?"
"No. You can’t come. Stay home with Kane," Chantelle replied. She didn’t even look at him.
"But it’s boring at home!" Philip complained.
Still, Chantelle had already shut her door.
Philip didn’t give up. He waited for her at the stairs.
After waiting for a long time, Chantelle still hadn’t come downstairs.
"Chantie, what’s taking you so long? Are you going on a date? Chantie?" Philip called out.
No one answered. He was getting restless every second. He went upstairs to check on her.
The door to Chantelle’s room was slightly open.
She was gone!
Philip was shocked after finding Chantelle’s disappearance.
Chantie had tricked me. But why sneak out like that? Something didn’t feel right.
He was sure she went on a date. In a rush, Philip pulled out his phone and sent a message to Daniel.
Philip sent his message instantly, "Daniel, bad news!"
But even after reading the message, Daniel didn’t reply.
Philip frowned and sent another text.
Philip’s message, "Chantie dressed up and went out for a date. She wouldn’t let me come. I think she’s seeing some young guy right now!"
Right after reading it, Daniel called him.
When Philip saw the call, he smirked and slowly pressed the answer button.
"Where are you? Why didn’t you pick up the phone?" Daniel’s voice sounded nervous.
Philip was speechless. He had answered the call almost right away.
He’s the one who ignored my message! And now he’s blaming me? The audacity of this man!
Philip felt annoyed. But before he could say anything, Daniel spoke again.
"Never mind. It’s not important. Where is Chantelle going? Weren’t you supposed to check her body today?"
"Yeah, but she’s tricky. She sneaked out because she didn’t want me to come," Philip said, still annoyed from waiting at the stairs.
"Who did she go out with?" Daniel asked.
"I don’t know. She just didn’t let me come," Philip replied with a shrug.
"Daniel, it’s boring here. Can I take the kids out?" Philip asked.
He didn’t want to stay home. He couldn’t go to the lab, and he still had to watch the kids.
But while he was talking, there was no sound on the other end.
It seemed Daniel had already hung up.
Tuuut... Tuuut... Tuuut...
"Hello? Daniel? Are you still there?"
Did he just hang up on me? Seriously? Chantie and Daniel are both the same! I’m a doctor here yet they even made me a babysitter!!!
After ending the call, Daniel opened the GPS linked to Chantelle’s phone. Her location popped up on the map right away.
He sent the location to Ashton, who was driving.
"Track her down. Now!"
"Are you tracking Mrs. Wilson?"
"How do you know?"
"You saved her name and shared the location with me. Are you meeting her for a date?"
Daniel was silent.
She’s seeing another man! Damnit!
Thinking about it made Daniel feel jealous.
But he didn’t say anything about it. Instead, he asked, "Ashton, what kind of gift do you think a woman like Mrs. Wilson would like?"
The idea of giving Chantelle a gift suddenly popped into his mind. He couldn’t show up without anything in his hand and lost the fight to some young guy.
"Well, I’m not sure what she likes now," Ashton said. "But I know what she liked five years ago."
"What is it?" Daniel asked, curious.
"You!"
Calvin and Chantelle were heading to Blue Sky Mental Hospital. Chantelle spent the ride reading the info Calvin gave her.
The hospital was in the northern suburbs of Easthan. Because of how sensitive the place was, visits had to be scheduled. They couldn’t just walk in and ask questions.
But Chantelle noticed something. The hospital has been getting support from the Charity Association for the past three years. That gave her a reason to visit.
"Calvin, call the hospital and say you’re from the Charity Association," she said.
"Alright, Ms. Bently."
"I think we need to change our clothes," Chantelle said with a spark in her eyes.
The two arrived at the hospital thirty minutes later. Chantelle wore a smart outfit and her wavy hair was tied in a neat bun. She added black glasses and light makeup to complete the look.
When she saw someone near the entrance, she quickly turned off the engine and walked around to open the door for Calvin.
"We’ve arrived, Mr. Jones!" Chantelle said with a slight bow, acting like a proper assistant.
Calvin stepped out with confidence. He stood tall and walked with calm authority.
Chantelle smiled quietly, pleased with how well he played his part.
"Welcome, Mr. Jones! We’ve been expecting you!" a man greeted him cheerfully. He reached out for a handshake, but Calvin ignored it.
Still smiling, the man stayed polite. "I’m Elijah Jacot, Assistant CEO of Blue Sky Mental Hospital. It’s an honor to meet you. I’ve heard great things about you."
Calvin gave a slight nod and said, "Hello, Mr. Jacot. Let’s go inside and talk."
"Right this way, Mr. Jones." Elijah felt relieved once Calvin finally responded.
I thought Mr. Jones would be hard to deal with, Elijah thought. But he seems new to the role. An experienced leader wouldn’t have called me "Mr. Jacot." That assistant of his also looks underdressed. Still, she has a nice figure.
Chantelle followed behind Calvin and entered Blue Sky Mental Hospital without any trouble.
On the way there, she studied the building layout. The hospital had three main buildings.
The office was in the middle. One side had the resource center, and the other had the medical storage room.
The central building held all the staff and patients. It had seven floors. The first floor was the main lobby.
The next five were for patient wards. The top floor held the executive offices and the special care ward.
According to the information from James, someone had placed Kate in the hospital on purpose.
Chantelle guessed she was likely being kept in the special care ward.
As Elijah led them into the main hall, he said politely, "Mr. Jones, why don’t we take a short break in my office? I’ve arranged lunch. We can go in about thirty minutes."
