CHAPTER 313: CHAPTER 313: HELP HER TO SUE ME!

Chantelle told him to stop and called Rowan over to get into the car.

Rowan smiled when he saw her. "Chantelle? What a surprise."

"What’s going on?" Chantelle asked as she touched his hand. "You’re burning up! Do you have a fever?"

"I got caught in the rain last night. Had to finish a deadline today, so I didn’t make it to the clinic..." Rowan fainted before he could finish.

"Head to the hospital and call Russell over."

They were actually near the Silver Crest Global District, where Russell and Alexander had been working. Chantelle thought about taking Rowan there. But then she remembered what she heard on the phone earlier and changed her mind.

After they reached the hospital, she gave Oscar a call.

"Hey, Chantelle! Are you in the mood to train today?" Oscar asked cheerfully.

Chantelle often met Oscar at the underground boxing gym. He was like a coach to her. Whenever they talked, it was always about boxing.

"Not today, sorry. Your brother’s at the hospital. You should come here."

Oscar drove straight to the hospital and Camille came with him.

Chantelle hadn’t seen her in a while.

By the time Oscar and Camille got to the hospital, Rowan was already asleep. The doctor said he had a bad cold and put him on a saline drip.

"Why is my brother in the hospital?" Camille asked sharply as soon as she saw Chantelle.

"Camille," Oscar said, giving her a warning. He didn’t like the way she spoke.

Camille’s dislike for Chantelle grew even stronger. Ever since Oscar and Alexander moved to Easthan, they had become close to Chantelle and always stood up for her.

Did they forget who their real little sister was?

"I saw him walking down the street and he looked really sick, so I brought him here. Since you’re both here now, I’ll head out." Chantelle wasn’t in the mood to deal with Camille’s drama. She turned to Oscar, said her piece, and was ready to leave.

However, Camille blocked her path again. Chantelle looked up and gave her a cold stare.

Camille hesitated for a second under her glare but kept her cool. "You’ve probably heard I’m engaged to Daniel, right? Since you’re not his wife anymore, you should take your kids and move out of the Wilson residence."

Ashton had been taking Kane to school every day, so the kids were still living at the Wilson home.

Oscar was about to speak up, but Chantelle stopped him by waving her hand. "You can say that again when you actually marry Daniel."

"What’s that supposed to mean? Are you trying to hold him and ruin my engagement with Daniel?" Camille gritted her teeth. She was convinced she’d be Daniel’s wife. In her eyes, Chantelle was just a shameless ex.

"Ms. Nelsen, please ask Daniel to meet me at the city courthouse and get the divorce papers signed. That way, I won’t have to deal with barking dogs who don’t know their place." Chantelle’s mood was already bad, and Camille was only making it worse.

Chantelle usually held back herself when the Nelsen brothers were around. But since Camille was looking for a fight, she didn’t bother being polite.

"Oh, so you think Daniel doesn’t want to divorce you? Dream on! If that were true, why would he say he’s engaged to me? You’re the one who can’t move on!"

Camille wasn’t done. She pulled out her phone and started dialing. "I’ll call Daniel right now. He’ll tell you himself! You’d better stop holding onto false hope!"

"I’m not interested in the man you like, Ms. Nelsen. I don’t care if you’re engaged or even married to Daniel. But if you keep pushing me, I won’t mind ruining whatever you have with him before I sign those divorce papers."

Right after Chantelle said that Camille slowly lowered her hand with the phone.

Chantelle had already thought that even Ashton couldn’t reach Daniel, so she wasn’t worried about Camille trying to call him either.

"You! If you don’t love Daniel, then why did you come back to Easthan? You wanted to win him back!" Camille finally blurted out something that actually made sense.

Chantelle didn’t respond. She didn’t want to face the messy feelings she still had for Daniel. Hearing Natalia’s voice earlier had thrown her off more than she wanted to admit.

When Camille asked her that direct question, Chantelle instantly thought back to the real reason she came back to Easthan.

"Back then, Daniel left me to die. But I survived. I came back to Easthan for revenge."

Yes. That’s the truth. I came back for revenge. There’s no way I could ever fall for the man who betrayed me.

"You’re lying! You say it’s revenge, but I haven’t seen you do anything to Daniel. Instead, you’ve been seen with him so many times! Just admit it, you still love him and want to take him from me!"

For a second, Chantelle actually thought Camille might’ve grown a few brain cells. She looked her up and down in silence.

She didn’t think too hard about her answer. She just said the first thing that came to mind.

"People like Daniel don’t understand what it means to lose something. I’ll make him fall for me completely, then I’ll leave him. That kind of pain will be worse than death for him!"

Chantelle just wanted Camille to stop bothering her. If this talk went on any longer, she wasn’t sure she could stop herself from saying that Daniel still belonged to her.

But Daniel’s heart wasn’t hers alone anymore. She had no right to say things like that.

Chantelle took a deep breath and her face turned cold.

"Did you hear that, Daniel? She’s trying to fool you! Don’t let her trick you!" Camille said, grinning like she’d won.

She shoved her phone in Chantelle’s face. On the screen, it clearly said "Daniel Wilson."

Chantelle’s heart was pounding so hard that she could hear it in her ears. She wanted to speak, but the words caught in her throat.

"That’s enough, Camille!" Oscar couldn’t watch anymore. He grabbed the phone from her hand.

Tears filled Camille’s eyes. "Why are you always taking her side, Oscar? Am I your sister or is she? Why do you keep protecting Chantelle? Do you like her?"

"Don’t say things like that. If you ruin Ms. Chantelle’s name, she has the right to sue you for slander," Oscar said in a cold tone.

Camille let out a smirk. "Oh? So you’ll help her sue me? Go ahead. Tell everyone. Tell Grandfather too!"

Then she ran away while covering her face.
