CHAPTER 366: CHAPTER 366: DON’T UNDERESTIMATE YOUR MAN

Chantelle and Daniel felt excited, but they both knew getting through this part wouldn’t be easy.

"Chantie, there are four people ahead of you," Li’l Sixteen warned her.

"Look out!" Chantelle shouted as a strong gust of wind rushed toward her.

Daniel faced the same situation. He wanted to help her fight against the attacker, but he was trapped.

The six of them fought hard in the narrow tunnel. Chantelle and Daniel were struggling, especially Chantelle. She wasn’t skilled enough to handle the assassins. She only managed a few moves with Daniel’s help.

"They’re trying to drain our strength. Stay here. I’ll end this quickly," Daniel whispered, pulling her behind him.

Chantelle realized it, too. If those four assassins really wanted to kill them, they would’ve done it already. Trenton clearly told them not to kill but to wear them down. He wanted them weak enough to capture and torture.

Chantelle quickly stepped back. She didn’t want to block Daniel’s way. But she knew he had just recovered, and fighting four assassins wouldn’t be easy for him.

"Chantie, I’ve reactivated some of the tunnel’s traps," Li’l Sixteen said through the earpiece.

Chantelle listened carefully as Li’l Sixteen explained the traps.

When Daniel was kicked to the ground by one of the assassins, she shouted, "Don’t move!"

Daniel’s hand froze in the air. The four men looked at her, confused, then rushed toward her.

Chantelle pressed a few spots on the wall. A hidden gun popped out and fired at them.

Two of the men fell.

Chantelle and Daniel exchanged a look. Daniel went after the last two while Chantelle used the traps to help him.

Soon, the last two assassins were defeated and couldn’t fight anymore.

The final door opened. Trenton sat on a high chair, looking down at Daniel and Chantelle.

"You’ve got some skill to make it this far," Trenton said with a smirk.

"Save it. Let’s fight," Chantelle said, rushing toward him.

But Trenton didn’t plan to fight. He grabbed her hand and triggered a hidden mechanism. His entire chair started sinking into the wall.

Daniel’s heart sank. He rushed forward, trying to stop it.

"Back down!" Chantelle shouted. She saw Trenton’s cold stare and felt something was wrong.

Even though Daniel was anxious, he trusted her. As soon as he heard her, he quickly stepped back.

A long sword dropped from above, landing right where he had been standing. If he hadn’t moved, he would’ve been cut in half.

"Love means nothing," Trenton sneered.

As the seat was about to disappear into the wall, Daniel pulled out his gun and fired at the control mechanism.

Each shot hit perfectly. The mechanism broke down fast.

There was still a small gap before it closed.

Trenton grabbed Chantelle and jumped through the gap with her.

Suddenly, Chantelle’s ring gave off a slight movement, and a laser shot straight into Trenton’s eyes.

"Chantelle! You’re dead!" Trenton shouted, covering his eyes in pain.

Chantelle used the chance to escape while Trenton was dragged away by his men.

"Don’t chase them. There might be another exit we don’t know about. He’s a public enemy now, and everyone’s after him. It’s fine as long as he doesn’t reach the prison," Chantelle said, pulling Daniel back when he tried to go after them.

She didn’t know what was deeper inside and didn’t want Daniel to take the risk.

"Hurry, search for any useful medicine." Chantelle believed this was Trenton’s hideout. He might have hidden the special remedy inside this room.

They searched separately and found some bottles of medicine, but they had no idea what they were for.

"Let’s bring them back and show Philip," Daniel suggested immediately.

Chantelle nodded. Just then, she felt the ground shaking.

"Trenton’s going to blow up the whole castle. We need to get out!" Daniel grabbed her hand and ran.

Tristan Kent... that sick bastard!

Chantelle cursed silently as she ran.

She should have known Trenton wouldn’t let them go that easily. If he couldn’t capture them alive, he’d try to kill them.

Debris started falling from above. Daniel used his arms to shield her as they ran.

At that moment, Chantelle felt her strength fading. It was a sign her illness was acting up.

She looked at Daniel, protecting her with his body, and her heart ached.

When they reached a fork in the tunnel, Chantelle pulled her hand away and ran down another path.

But in the next second, Daniel grabbed her wrist and pulled her straight into his chest.

"Try running away again," he said, then lifted her into his arms and kept running.

"We’ll die like this," Chantelle said weakly.

"Don’t underestimate your man," Daniel replied in a comforting tone.

Chantelle tried to pinch her thigh to stay awake, but it didn’t help. She slowly lost consciousness.

Daniel took her earpiece and put it on. "Guide me," he said.

"Got it. The path ahead is blocked. Take the left," Li’l Sixteen replied.

Following the instructions, Daniel avoided the worst of the collapse and moved toward the exit.

"Ms. Chantelle!" Calvin appeared and tried to take her from Daniel. But Daniel didn’t stop. He kept walking, avoiding Calvin without saying a word.

Calvin saw Daniel’s wounds and how tired he looked. He felt a mix of emotions inside.

As soon as they got out of the castle, a loud explosion shook the air behind them. The entire castle collapsed from the inside.

"Daniel!" Philip ran over with a doctor. Only then did Daniel lay Chantelle down on the stretcher.

The moment he put her down, he collapsed too.

Philip quickly checked him. When he saw that Daniel was just exhausted, he let out a sigh of relief.

"Quick! Get him in the car!" Philip shouted, motioning for the doctors and nurses to put Daniel on another stretcher.

"Chantelle’s medicine..." Daniel grabbed Philip’s wrist tightly.

Philip winced from the grip. "Let go. We’ll take care of Ms. Chantelle. You need to focus on yourself first."

"Let’s go back... quickly..." Daniel said weakly in a worried voice.

Philip sighed and said softly, "Don’t worry, Mr. Wilson. I’m here. Ms. Chantelle will be fine."

Hearing that, Daniel slowly closed his eyes.
